French revolution lady that soldiers saw when dying on the field

Lady of death, seen wandering the battlefield, her face painted into a sorrowful frown of a skeleton in a royal purple. Soldiers who have seen her painted face yet did not take her hand claim it to be the purple blood of the dead tyrants and aristocrats.

When a man takes her hand he is lifted from the plane of the field and walked through soft grass to a stone well. She takes long, soundless steps to the lip of the edge and beckons him to look over. When he looks over he will see the face of something beyond the wrath of war and she will push him in to the well of skeletons.

She is very calming and beckons the men of war with no words but an unspoken promise to freedom of pain.

Often soldiers will say to their fellows "do not see the lady and DO NOT take her hand."
