Biography
Aequus'Regina Firanira
Lore
. |
It was such a crushing darkness that surrounded her. The magelights felt so dim and frail. As if they struggled to keep the darkness at bay. The damp air sent chills into her core. She stopped and took a deep breath. Her eyes focused ahead, into the descending tunnel. This conflict needed to end. They were all one clan. Her resolve solidified, Aequus'Regina Firanira walked down into the depths of the Crystal Spire. She passed the carved pillars of crystal that marked the entrance to one of the most forbidden wings of the Crystal Spire, the Hallowed Hall. She walked into the grand antechamber. Her brow collapsed as she heard the echo of her paws. There was a distant ping of water dripping but there was no sign of any of the residents. She wondered as she looked around, where are they? Her body froze when her answer came in the form of a large Guardian body that dwarfed her petite frame. Her eyes slid down to her right in horror and saw the ghastly foreleg of Crudelis'Aegror. The Angel of Disease. A rich feminine voice hissed in Aequus'Regina Firanira's ear, "You smell delicious...little morsel..." Regaining some of her nerve, Firanira darted away from Crudelis'Aegror and turned to face the towering monster. She stared at the cruel eyes that glittered under the wolf pelt. "I am here to speak with Noctis'Timore." "Are you," purred Crudelis'Aegror, "No one told me...all I see is a morsel that has wandered too far from home." Firanira was about to respond but another voice rumbled from somewhere behind her. "You are so loud, it is irritating..." Firanira turned her head, just as Crudelis'Aegror hissed, and Firanira felt her heart stop. Approaching was the Skydancer Mollis'Somnus, the Angel of Slumber. His handsome visage did nothing to soften the glare that set his eyes ablaze. A new feminine voice chirped, "Did I hear the lunch bell?" Firanira whipped her head around and saw the petite Imperial Alicia Glacies'Sanguis approaching from a different tunnel. Fear froze Firanira to the spot that she stood. Three Angels of Rebirth circled her, like wolves waiting for the chance to strike. Their eyes glittered bright with hunger and it dared Firanira to make even a single move. Oh how she wanted to run but it was too late. She knew the minute that she moved, she was as good as dead. A strong, barking male voice broke the silence, "Angels! What are you doing loitering around?" Mollis'Somnus and Alicia backed off to reveal the horrible monster that was Noctis'Timore. His bleak headdress glowed with an eerie light in the dim hall. He stomped forward with harshly echoing steps. His tail was lashing side to side. Crudelis'Aegror's voice barked, like a puppy happy to see its parent, "Lunch wandered into our Hall, brother. Can we drink? I'm so parched!" The smile that answered Crudelis'Aegror made Firanira tremble. She couldn't stand the sight of that horrible brown saliva dripping from the corners of his maw. There was also a curious sound, echoing somewhere behind her. She was too focused to pay it much mind. She was in very real danger right now. It was too late for her to want to turn tail and flee. Her scream ripped through her own ears when she felt the strong paws of Mollis'Somnus grab her. The answering cackle from Noctis'Timore made her scream even more. "No, no, no please," she begged, "I just wanted to talk!" Noctis'Timore loomed over her. They were so similar in height and yet he commanded the entire chamber. His voice rolled silkily, "Oh? Is that so, daughter of Augustus'Umbra?" Firanira choked out a gasp when she felt Noctis'Timore's clawed forepaw grip her throat. She couldn't take her eyes off of those four glittering pools of evil that stared her down. Noctis'Timore's deep voice purred, "No-one from the upper floors just come to talk...not to us...orders, yes...but never to talk...We are...after all..." Firanira couldn't keep a struggling whimper from escaping when she felt him drawing closer. His voice whispered, "The most monstrous of the Spire...the devils in the deep...the true protectors of us all...And you, fair one, have just wandered into our nest..." Firanira slammed her eyes closed, afraid to see what Noctis'Timore would do. Nothing happened though. There was a strange wind that blew through the hall however. Firanira ventured to open her eyes and the shocked gasp flew unbidden from her gaping maw. Standing with a stern glare, Arcyng Leo'Animus gripped Noctis'Timore's foreleg with bone crushing force. Firanira could see the blood dripping from where Arcyng Leo'Animus' claws broke Noctis'Timore's scales. Noctis'Timore's voice chirped brightly, "Ah! Little brother! What brings His Radiance down here?" Arcyng Leo'Animus' voice rumbled, "You are not to drink from her." Noctis'Timore's eyes glittered. "She trespassed in our hall. You know the penalty." Arcyng answered, "Then I will pay it in her stead." Firanira gasped, "Wait, what?!" "That noble soul is going to get you into trouble some day," hummed Noctis'Timore, "However I do accept. Angels, do not touch Augustus'Umbra's daughter. The Patriarch has offered himself up instead. Feast, Angels." Firanira couldn't stop her trembling legs from collapsing. She looked on in aghast horror as Arcyng Leo'Animus staunchly stood still as the vampires fed from him. Her eyes filled with tears as she saw his legs beginning to tremble and yet he still stood tall and never taking his eyes off of Noctis'Timore. A low hum rumbled from Noctis'Timore. "Enough." The Angels of Rebirth drew away. Their smiles were just as wicked as their master. Noctis'Timore walked closer to Arcyng and tilted his head to expose his terrifying red, grey, and black scaled neck. "Drink little brother." Arcyng Leo'Animus turned his head away. Noctis'Timore clicked his tongue. "Foolish boy. The thirst will drive you mad if you do not drink from me." Arcyng Leo'Animus stepped away from Noctis'Timore on unsteady paws toward Aequus'Regina Firanira. His voice rumbled, "Please help me back to Titan's Rest, Firanira." Firanira jumped to her paws and offered her shoulder to Arcyng. He silently took it and together they made their slow way out of the Hallowed Hall. The horrible cackle of Noctis'Timore's laughter chased them through the winding tunnels of crystal. The trek back up to the higher floors of the Crystal Spire was long and more often than not Firanira stumbled under Arcyng's weight. In the tunnel leading up to Titan's Rest, Firanira ventured to say, "Thank you, Patriarch. For helping me back there...I mean..." He did not answer. Aequus'Regina Firanira looked down at the crystal floor. He was probably so angry with her. She deserved it. What was she thinking going down into the Hallowed Hall in the first place? Oh her father would've had her hide if he wasn't asleep. Speaking of her father, when Firanira looked up she saw his sleeping face behind a wall of crystal. All of the Titans slept in crystal, within the walls of this hall. All except for one. Tacet'Mare laid before the sleeping form of Magna'Mater, the first Matriarch of Sanguinem Luna. Firanira felt so much power radiating from the ancient Imperial. "I warned you that they would take too much," rumbled Tacet'Mare. "I do not care," rumbled Arcyng Leo'Animus. He pushed away from Firanira's shoulder and approached the sleeping form of Magna'Mater. His forepaw reached up to the crystal in a harsh slam. "If it were up to me, I would be there to satisfy their thirst every time." A low hum echoed from Tacet'Mare. "M-Maybe I should go," said Aequus'Regina Firanira in an attempt to excuse herself. She felt like she wasn't meant to hear this conversation. "Stay Little One," commanded Tacet'Mare, "It is I who should leave you two." Firanira felt her blood run cold. She stared at the ancient Imperial, begging him to stay with her eyes. That was never to be though. Firanira felt the chill of the chamber set in as the silence dragged on. She felt so awkward, standing alone in the chamber. Once, years ago, she spurned Arcyng Leo'Animus' proposal to be his mate. He never made any indication that the rejection hurt him, but why did he come to her rescue? That was going beyond the call of duty as the Patriarch. "How did," ventured Firanira, "How did you know where I was?" Arcyng Leo'Animus turned his head slightly to listen to her but then returned his gaze to his sleeping mother. "Oh Great Mother, please forgive your weak and wayward son..." Firanira tilted her head and she stepped closer toward Arcyng. Her eyes widened when she saw his left forepaw gripping his throat and his eyes narrowed in pain. "Great Mother's Grace... you look ghastly! W-Was Noctis'Timore speaking true," Firanira asked, "Will you go mad if you do not drink?" She was paralyzed by the stunning faceted eye that looked at her. His voice wrapped around her like a warm blanket. "It is nothing that I can't handle." She stepped closer. "You're lying. You're in so much pain right now. Why do you hide it?" "I am the Patriarch. Nothing will stop me from protecting my clan. Not even my own body." Firanira closed the distance between them and pulled his head to look at her. "Your Highness," she asked, "Arcyng...! It is not right for you to shoulder these burdens and pains alone...Please...will it help if you drink my blood?" She could see his emotions flashing in his eyes. Hope, anger, regret, and a feral hunger. She wished he didn't slam his eyes shut. How could she have not realized how stunning his eyes were? Behind that stern countenance was a self-less yet prideful leader who did not want to burden his clan with his own weaknesses. Firanira grimaced as she pulled Arcyng close. "Please drink," she urged, "We all need you...I'm...I'm sorry for rejecting you...all of those years ago...you were probably calling for my help...and I turned you away so callously...I was such a horrible friend..." She felt his body trembling in her paws. She felt a hot liquid dripping onto her scales and she could smell the salt. Her eyes slammed closed and she tightened her grip. She was not going to abandon him. Not this time. His voice trembled, "Forgive me..." She whimpered when he finally bit. Her paw reached up to stroke the feathers of his crest. "What is there to forgive? If anything, I should be asking you to forgive me..." | . |
Additional Information
.... The Pantheon Age Plant Singer - Benevolent Matriarch - Nursery Sister |
. . . . |
The Titan Age Aequus'Regina Firanira was hatched in this age, near the end of Magna'Mater's reign. She grew up admiring the calm grace and ancient wisdom that the Matriarch possessed. The Pantheon Age Aequus'Regina Firanira walks with a graceful, proud stride and flies with the elegance of the Windsinger. Her beauty is the material of Aetherius'Lyra's songs. The only thing that puts her beauty to shame is the angelic vocals that she sings with. Her radiant voice has nurtured many of the plants throughout the Crystal Spire as being part of the Plant Singers. She, very much like her mother Aequum'Musa, possesses a deep love for all that live within the Crystal Spire's fortified walls. Her kindness and generosity often offsets the aloof mien of her mate, Arcyng Leo'Animus. Despite the aloofness of her mate, Aequus'Regina Firanira has seen the true compassion and love for all that dwells within his heart. She does her best to support him in all of his endeavors because she has been at his side through every nightmare that plagues him. She wishes with every fiber that she knew how to help her mate. What she usually ends up helping him with is slacking the unending thirst for blood that he is cursed with by his vile brother. Aequus'Regina Firanira has shared her own hardships. Before she became Arcyng's mate, many within the clan vied to become her mate. It broke her heart to see so much drama stirred up by her without doing anything. So whenever she received a token of affection, or the invitation to go for a flight at sunset, she would decline politely. Even Arcyng she denied for years. It wasn't until she caught Arcyng alone, praying before his mother's hibernation crystal, that she started to fall for the Clan Patriarch. She never knew that such a mighty dragon could be so vulnerable. It sparked a protective side within her that would do her father Augustus'Umbra proud. She is aware that she is not the strongest dragon in the clan whatsoever. However that does not stop her from trying to fight when she needs to. Her devotion when it comes to protecting everything that she cares about is legendary within the clan. To the dragons of Sanguinem Luna, Aequus'Regina Firanira was the mother figure that they desperately needed when Magna'Mater went into hibernation. To Arcyng Leo'Animus, Aequus'Regina Firanira is the only dragon capable of completing his soul. The New Age Aequus'Regina Firanira is frustrated by her own powerlessness. It broke her heart to see her son, her only boy, so broken and battered when he tumbled down that ramp. That moment echoes forever in her heart. She can remember the crushing pain that she felt when she saw Tenebris'Cor place a paw over her son, like a conquering hunter standing over his quarry. That victorious sneer, it is the laughing face of evil that haunts her nightmares at night. Whenever she sees Tenebris'Cor, or Tenebris'Terra, walking the Crystal Spire halls she is reminded of how she failed her children and her mate. She should have been there to help him, to stand with him against Noctis'Timore. Her mind will remind her heart that such a thing is folly. There is no standing between two warring Gods. Not unless there is a death wish. If she had been caught in the crossfire, then she would not be here to soothe the worries of her children. A mother always knows when her babies are suffering. The way her son hides his pain away, locking it up in his heart, it reminds Aequus'Regina Firanira so much of his father. It reminds her constantly of that one day. That day when she foolishly thought that she could heal the rifts born from centuries of tension. Just like back then, all she can do is try to keep her loved ones strong. She will nurse her son's wounds, just as she once soothed his father's thirst, but never will she be able to see her son's fur pristine ever again. She can not heal scars after all. She has never been able to heal her own. During this age, she works in the Nursery as a Nursery Sister. She inspires the hatchlings and mothers to find hope with her angelic songs. It is not uncommon to hear her voice echoing throughout the Crystal Spire, reaching the ears of all as if the Crystal Spire itself speaks with her voice. Familiar Aequus'Regina Firanira's Sundial Gem Guardian was a gift to her from Arcyng Leo'Animus. He told her that it would protect her, the beautiful gem of his life that brings light to his heart. The bond that Firanira shares with the Guardian grew swiftly when the Guardian saw just how radiant and kind Firanira was to her clan. Because Firanira is not a strong fighter, the Guardian knows it is Firanira's last line of defense if she is ever threatened, so it protects her fiercely whenever she leaves the safety of the Crystal Spire. Aequus'Regina Firanira
Warm, fierce pride lights up your eyes- it feels strong enough to fight wars with; the anguish of seeing pain in Arcyng that you cannot take away; time slows, suspended, as you see the tension in Arcyng's shoulders relax- it's the greatest compliment he could ever pay you; wanting to please everyone, but no one wants to get along, and sometimes it feels hopeless but there is no world in which you do not fight for what's right; the spark of an idea as you negotiate a compromise that everyone can agree on; it makes you so happy to hear a hatchling come to you with personal struggles, and taking your advice; quick to forgive, all you want is for the best, and that means no holding grudges; spending your time wisely, because you never know when you could lose it all and oh how you wish to spend every living moment in a worthwhile way, how you wish you could preserve the happiness you bring |

A Mother's Nightmare
Her heart squeezes. Her lungs, suddenly devoid of air, scream. Her baby, the child born of her flesh and bones and love is hurting. He is falling, tumbling down, hurtling towards the cold, hard floor. She watches, she can only stare in horror. Her claws scratch the floor as she tenses her every muscle. Her mouth is dry, bitter. She opens her jaw as wide as she can in the effort to scream. Nothing comes out, her throat is rubbed raw, as if with sandpaper. Her lips tremble and she aches to her very core. She watches her son fall to the ground and there is nothing she can do to stop it. |

You went to them
Like a lamb unto wolves
Clutching your light in your talons
In many ways you're still
The girl you were then
Although you no longer hope
to join the two halves
You've always been the kind
To check each fallen bird nest
With hope for survivors
You know that strength is not
The absence of weakness -
And that everyone needs a hand to hold
Kindness is not naivety
You are not the strongest - no,
Nor the biggest
But it's not the size of the dog in fight
That matters
It's the size of fight in the dog
Even now- mate lost, son broken
You are open hands,
Strong spine
Although your heart bleeds for your loss
You must remember - that scars
Are signs of healing too

Mother of Mine
Our eyes are together again,
touching star and touching land.
I follow your steps with mine,
our beating hearts our love's sand.
Your song lets my blood be tranquil,
you have seen my cries and held my woes.
Mother of mine, soft and divine,
the stars and the sea decorate your toes.
A crown you wear, but the one I see,
is always there, has always been,
made of warm light and perfect petals,
contrast with the lessons you made green.
Mother of mine, how sweet you shine,
my heart is yours and yours knows mine.
In your tight arms, I used to live,
in your wings, I would shy and dive.
Your scent teems with angel's lips,
that kiss my nose, sing your song.
How I would wail when you were gone,
and stood aside from offence and wrong.
The blessed piece of me was cut,
from your dear bosom, from heavens new,
it wanders out in me, treasured much,
I keep it safe and safely think only of you.
No wound can say with valiance,
"I am here for eternity. I am your affliction."
Your love, your piece of you, in me,
swallows the pain, erased in graceful affection.
My tears your tears,
Your heart and mine,
are one and both,
so pure, so divine.
Truly only lonely hearts,
are only ever just apart.
Mother of mine, my heavens shine,
sing us back again,
I share back your piece,
in peace,
let our arms and hearts,
intertwine.
