An offworlder from a distant realm of humans and souls. Back home, Rangiku would often slack off on her assigned duties by taking naps on the office couch, stepping out for "errands" that force her Captain to track her down, and by straight up "misplacing" or damaging paperwork (the "accidental overturned inkwell" strategy is a popular one). She's a bit more productive in Byzmara, but that's largely due to the fact that there's not much paperwork in the first place and the city's shenanigans force her to stay on her toes. Leon was doing most of the paperwork as it was before Rangiku popped in, and she's perfectly happy to let him continue. On the whole, she's quite lazy. In perfect mirror of the catlike nature of her zanpakuto, Rangiku prefers to relax and follow her own whims rather than do work. She can be fickle and moody and a bit of a forceful personality, even acting somewhat shallow at times. This often results in her getting a bit lost in what she thinks others might want, rather than paying full attention to what they're actually saying. She's been the unapologetic instigator of numerous (mis)adventures of the Shinigami Women's Association in particular. Additionally, she is absolutely not above using her looks and wiles to get what she wants, making her quite a handful when she's particularly hellbent on something. Those even vaguely familiar with Hitsugaya may wonder why he bothers keeping her around, but the depths of their relationship aren't obvious to onlookers. They both have a healthy respect for the other, planted during their first meeting over fifty years ago and blooming in the trials and tribulations since. Though she'll fluster him and avoid paperwork and make him snap at her, she knows his boundaries well. In her own way, she looks out for Hitsugaya and is forever grateful that he allows her to be her own person, no matter their duties or how much they may bicker. They've had each other's backs through hundreds of battles, and for Rangiku, there's no better Captain to follow. When it comes to combat, she can be serious. If there's one thing she's learned, it's when to drop the act and do her job properly. That said, she also knows her assets and leans into them when she can, using her looks or targeted derisive comments to fluster, distract, or enrage opponents. She commands her subordinates effectively, can fight capably alone and with a partner, and can utilize close-quarters and long-range offenses. She and Hitsugaya work very well together, easily able to tag-team opponents and combine their abilities for new strategies, and they spar regularly to keep their skills sharp. |
