The dragon which started my lair.
The style of FR familiars is beautiful, I'm genuinely such a fan of them alone - and it brings me so much joy to collect these fellas.
Capricats stand out to me as hybrids of cats and goats, as a prominent version of my fursona happens to be one! What a cool coincidence, I'm still freaking out about it years later haha I'm pretty new to big bbcode projects and am exploring how to style shrines, so bear with me as this changes - this project is still active! It seems that the rarity of most familiars doesn't always make sense.
Here, I believe that the main 2 are of higher rarity as they Must be bought for a set price of gems to exist,
whereas the Spiral can be bonded for, costing no extra currency.
Does anyone have a dev note about how they choose rarities?

The Longhorn & Prancing Capricats were released on May 20th, 2017 in this post: "Capricats - Fluffy new familiars can't seem to decide whether they'd rather nap in a sunbeam, or prance and jump! Capricats are now available in the gem marketplace. Take home a new friend today!" Around 40 users praised their welcome! |
Above is a custom edit, exclusive to their Announcement post!
They're currently still able to be purchased on the gem marketplace for 250
each, or by buying/trading for them with other players.

The Spiral Capricat was released on February 17th, 2020 in this post: "Feats - Feats are familiar-themed tasks that focus on the act of reaching bonding level milestones with certain familiars to earn a special reward. Once the required milestones have been reached Fiona will allow you to claim a prize, which will generally consist of treasure rewards or in some cases, a special recolored version of the familiar type in the Feat." Around 4 users found it captured their hearts! |
The Spiral Capricat can be obtained via trading with other players (as many forum users have done), or by completing the Blep Bonding Feat (awakening the 2 marketplace capris).
Unofficially, a Spiral can generally sell for 3x the price of either of the regular 2 Capricats, so ~750g.
This factors in the base cost of the 2 regular Capris + the labor of checking in for 89 real-time days to awaken any familiar.

We have big goats too and I want it to wear a sweater. People using Capricat as a fodder name, 2017 I've narrowed down the dates of these 28 dragons being exalted under the name 'Prancing Capricat' using dragons with close id digits who are still non-exalted. They were hatched between August 24th-25th 2017. There was then a few more exalted throughout the years using similar names for a total of 33. The two other users with Capricat in their names are: AryCapricat, who made their account in 2014, and was active in June-July of that year - so coincidental naming, And capricats, who played in April of 2018, after the release of the first two capricats, and at one point owned 50 familiars before discarding all of them. I love my dear cats, however I'm not done with them yet!
Timeline: <2021 - ?. I purchased a Longhorn Capricat.* 2021 - August 3rd. I purchased a Prancing Capricat for 245g. My 270th familiar. 2021 - August 26th. Completed the Hiss feat. 2021 - Spetember 1st. Longhorn became Loyal. 2021 - September. I started a hiatus, busy with school. 2022 - October. Returned from said hiatus! 2022 - November 19th. Completed the Flop feat. 2022 - December 1st. Longhorn Awakened. 2023 - February 23rd. Completed the Blep feat, gaining my clan's Spiral Capricat! 2023 - June 5th. Reached Loyal with my Spiral, so close to awakening! 2023 - July-ish Awokened my Spiral, closing this quest! *Unsure of when exactly, however I distinctly recall a Very kind player gently explaining to me how familiars gained via ascending work, and why they're more expensive than the others. I'm still thankful for that kindness when I, still scruffy with baby-bird feathers, asked to trade 250 for a Spiral haha. I was Super shy back then, it might've been my first pm? My love for Capricats brought motivation from the start! |

On June 8th '23 I saw the Spiral Capricat in Fiona's for the last time before Awakening it!
Some people enjoy collecting multiples of their favourite items - and I collect all sorts!
However, I'm not collecting multiples of any of the Capricats.
There's an unlimited amount of Longhorn & Prancings in the marketplace, and to obtain another Spiral would be to take away another user's one-time reward for irl months of effort.
It just wouldn't feel right - but hey, there's always a set of festival familiars to grind out instead ~+

It was also a day where I gave the formatting of the shrine a quick facelift and replaced Card's Iron Steampunk Goggles with Copper to match the green eyes, also overpaying for some Malign Gloves to add her gold front 'hoof' !

(26/4/23) Inspired by this forum post from 2021 where users chatted about what familiar they'd use as their avatar if they were a developer of Flight - here's mine.
I remember reading that thread years ago, not responding out of shyness haha!
I've since responded to newer threads asking the same question, answering with my beloved carpicats, so if you've found this shrine from those, hello!!
These were quick to make and a bunch of fun - although I will note that the use of faux dev avatars across the site isn't the best idea - as coming across as impersonating an FR employee could land you in hot water >:0!
Probably best not to use them.

Shrine Banners
< (8/6/23)These three banners, one horizontal, and two vertical, are mine! I cropped & filtered the scene Summer to make them, adding flowers from Spring, as well as the Capricats, and finally, a border to match Osiem's Arcane banners. 
Please don't use them anywhere. They're really quick to make if you want something to match your pages, I can see making a bunch more and posting them as a f2u collection eventually.

<- That's me! If I were ever brave enough, I'd make more of these in different poses. This is referencing the capris artwork but not tracing, so excuse any wonkiness :'] Swapped hooves/paws are intentional and, in my Humble opinion, how they should all be. Having hooves in the front is like wearing shoes on your hands instead of your feet, right? I suppose it adds to the whimsy, fantastical nature of the sprite - all a piece of Flight’s overall art direction. Anywho ~+ Do Not Use - pls don't steal my little guys! They're 100x100 pixels for forum use, upscaled to 200x here for easy viewing. |

I picked up paint.net again for this project - being a diehard fan of msp for pixelart, it was a big jump!
Neither of these are the final lineart, just the sketches before changing programs to refine & add transparency.

I'm looking for an Imp scry that's similar to my caprisona, but am no good at making them, any ideas? The humble urge to have as many stars as possible is so tantalising, they're another fixation of mine, hence the Starry theming. I think user Capricat is on the right track by using koi for the different colours, although I'm after that light cream & white colouration to distinguish from the Longhorn design! This is a minor thing, I'd rather spend funds buying more familiars than geneing at the moment, and in general I suppose :) |

Note from a month after first constructing this shrine: Omg! I Just noticed that Poppet (my kind-of dragonsona-y thing) was born on May 20th, 2020 - the third anniversary of Capricats first being brought to flight!!
She's a special dragon to me, like a baby bird to be nurtured - and also the original host of this shrine.
