Biography
Izzy -- The Pessimistic Soul -- Tick, tock, tick, tock... A tired-looking coatl would be laying in bed, staring at the wall, nothing to do. Tick, tock, tick, tock... A ghost - an ethereal mess of ectoplasm and bones - lurked in the shadows, just out of sight to the untrained. Tick, tock, tick, tock... The coatl would sigh heavily, and groaned as he reached for a book - as though it were a difficult task even for him - until a far more energetic and smaller-looking coatl would burst in, to check up on him. Ultimately, the coatl would drag him to the dining hall for dinner, leaving the ticking clock behind... |
-- Biography --
Izzy, to say the least, has a rather bleak outlook on life. Passive and uncaring, he lives under the belief that he's going to eventually die anyways, especially due to being terminally ill with the Nosos virus, so why put in the effort to care? Pessimistic, uncaring, abrasive, he would be happy to waste his life away doing nothing, and his rude and snarky nature chases away other dragons who might offer to help, save for one: his older brother, Shiro.
As a carrier, he suffers from headaches, congestion, tuberculosis, intermitten aches, and near-constant fatigue/exhaustion, and insomnia; some of these symptoms being exasperated in a sort of self-fullfilling prophecy by his tendencies to skip meals, lack of sleep, and lack of any real exercise. In addition to this, he suffers from severe depression; which often leaves him feeling unmotivated and pessimistic. All of this together, it's difficult for him to take care of himself - both in dealing with his symptoms, and general day-to-day life.
Shiro, however, isn't one to let Izzy waste away. As a result, Izzy often finds himself dragged around wherever Shiro goes, be it dining hall in Himawari Keep, a walk along the beach, or even being brought along on Shiro's adventures. Izzy oftentimes grouses or complains the whole way, though.... In a way, deep down, it's all bark. He definitely is annoyed at Shiro oftentimes, though Shiro is one of the few dragons that Izzy can't really bring himself to hate or be truly abrasive to. He cares about Shiro, and has a faint appreciation for just how hard Shiro tries, even though he believes himself to not be worth it, and he has a hard time properly expressing these feelings sometimes.
Overall though, when he isn't spending his time holed up in his room doing nothing, or being dragged around by Shiro, he oftentimes likes to do low-effort activities like stargazing, or reading. He, additionally, likes listening to Shiro talk about his discoveries, and also occasionally helps write letters home. He is oftentimes followed by a strange ghost, from one of the times that Shiro has dragged him a little too close to the Hewn City, though he's grown used to his little spectre friend; it being pretty harmless, albeit unsettling. Though his depression oftentimes gets in the way, he's been able to survive life thus far somehow - and he's sure that Shiro will do his best to make sure they survive a little longer.
