Kia is a beautiful Coatl who - though he spends much of his time putting on a smile, acting bubbly and ditzy to win over the audience - is a bright and caring soul. His past is possibly the lowest he could ever get in his life - nearly sold away before Luminere offered him a chance at a more prosperous life. With his natural strengths and beauty, he quickly found a place as an entertainer for the Keep - sporting fine silks and jewelery, and revelling in being the center of attention.
It's for this reason, that Kia often feels as though he owes his life to Luminere; the Queen having rescued him from a possibly far more dreary and oppressed life. In return, he puts on the best acts that he can, and doesn't ask for much in return - only wanting access to the library, a comfortable place to sleep, and good food. For such a luxurious role, and for all the things he could have - he lives surprisingly modestly, having simple needs; though he also doesn't want to put too much pressure on Luminere.
In addition to all of this, he also acts as the Queen's ears. His role as an entertainer and his acts allow him to appear unseeming to visitors and local nobles alike, and to get close to them. Anything from dancing just a little closer to a particular person, or lingering after serving them drinks, or even striking up conversations with someone during his downtime; he knows just what to say or listen for, to ensure that everyone who graces the Keep's halls has good intentions in mind.
And when he does find an interesting tidbit, he'll find a time to whisper in the Queen's ear when no one is looking; those around them none the wiser. The Queen is particular about hiding the more secretive parts of his role though, both to ensure people don't catch on, and to also protect him. He is grateful for this as well - though he is just as careful as she is, to ensure no one notices him prying into certain subjects, or listening in at particular moments...
During downtime, however, Kia is often seen either lingering about in the Grand Hall, his quarters, the Garden, or in the library. He has a love for reading and learning, and often indulges himself by reading the various tomes that the library provides, especially ones where he can learn spells. Though he is not the best light mage, he still loves the more simplistic and novelty spells that he can use to draw a little attention or make a spectacle - as rarely as he uses them. And though he wouldn't admit it - he also has a weakness for romantic or mystery stories.
He, additionally, likes to sometimes sun himself in the Garden, and socialize with the other dragons that linger there, appreciating the beauty and the fresh air. Though he ain't the most passionate dragon over plants, he can still appreciate the roses that grow there, and the sweet smells of the flowers in general.
Some dragons sometimes theorize that he and the Queen might be a 'thing' - though the claims are all false, for the most part. He and Luminere are indeed close, and they do feel comfortable around eachother - often opting to skip formalities when they interact in private, despite her position. However, Kia holds no feelings for her, and in fact prefers guys - having a small crush on a resident fire mage. With the two's mutual comfortableness, it isn't surprising for Luminere to sometimes tease him a little over it, though it's all in good fun in the end.
