Biography

Fhuar
Irish in origin meaning cold, apathetic.

Grounds Keeper II Angel
"There is nothing to fear about death, as it is a release. Not a punishment."

Personality

cfSwDhl.png
Fhuar is a grounds keeper, who's blind but it’s hard to tell, because he acts as though he can see, so much so it's like he isn't blind at all. His blindness and his susceptibility to bruising is all thanks to his affliction with the Nosos virus. Fhuar also has a poor immune system and gets colds, flus and other respiratory infections a lot.

He’s usually very quiet and doesn't really talk or socialize at all. Some people think he's mute, because he never makes any noise, but he definitely isn’t. Fhuar also doesn't live in the main lair, he lives in a little cave near the graveyard, it's hidden by tree roots. It's quite nice actually and he's often cold, wet and muddy.

Fhuar sees the world through hearing, smell and touch. He's also really good at telling distances etc (you know how you can tell how far your hand is away from the rest of your body? Like that, but with everything around him.) He's missing feathers and has scars, from fights in the past he doesn't talk about.

Not necessarily secretive, just quiet, but he does keep things to himself. He's usually quite nimble and light on his feet. But he does run into and trip over things. Falling into open graves is common for him.

He doesn't care about much, he just likes to keep to himself and his job. Some consider him to be cold and completely uncaring, but that isn't entirely true. He'll go and sit with someone who's having a difficult time mourning. He cares about some things, just not much.

He doesn't make graves for enemies unless they're held in high regard, he also attends funeral services and cremates those who want it. Other dragons often leave him treasure and gems as thank. His lair is covered with shiny things that have been strung up. Sometimes he'll eat metals and stones, don't ask why cause no one knows.

If you vandalize the graveyard or the clan property, you'll have to deal with him. He does bury people alive who **** him off and do that stuff. Fhuar is kind of territorial and is one of the first to confront strangers, which some find odd since he can’t see. However, he’s no pushover. Though he’s quite calm and indifferent most of the time, he's often mistaken as a grave statue cause he just sits and doesn't move at times.

Not many know this, this afflicted coatl is anything but tone deaf, he loves music. It’s usually the only time he makes noise, to sing along quietly or hum. He can also play the organ and piano quite well, thanks to growing up in a church.

Spirit Armor
"Angel"
Fhuar was paired with a familiar at a very young age, almost as soon as he had hatched. His parents feared he needed help getting around etc. because of his blindness and so Angel was introduced to him and hasn't been apart from the afflicted coatl since.

This lively armor followed the child everywhere, protecting him and did it's best to keep Fhuar out of trouble. However, Angel realized quickly that adventure and curiosity came naturally to the young dragon. Angel never kept the young dragon from his adventures, instead the spirit just followed.

To this day the armor helps protect Fhuar and aids in maintaining the graveyard and such. Angel has also remained atleast twice the size of his coatl companion. Allowing the animated spirit to fend off most danger.

Backstory

cfSwDhl.png

Born from parents touched by the church, it was quite a surprise to them to have a child so fascinated by death and touched by illness. He was almost instantly shunned by his comrades a different species all to their own. Some believed him to be a corrupt being as he "could never gaze upon God". Others believed he was blessed to recite prayers, to be religious in other ways and was praised for wings that mimicked stained-glass. Some believed his ailments could be cured through enough faith however, Fhuar never really believed it. He was born as he was for a reason and there was no use complaining about or dwelling on it.

But he never lost the desire to see what stained-glass looks like.

His dull coloration didn't aid Fhuar in mingling with his more colorful brethren either. Instead he spent his early days growing up in the shadow of a massive cathedral, listening to the prayers and ceremonies and longing to be the one in charge of funerals.

Where everyone praised a pseudo god and a religion long dead. He didn't really mind though or care. It gave him more of a reason to question what happened to everyone after they died, surely something happened. That or people just made up stories to ease the fact that there was nothing after death, he honestly didn't know.

Fhuar may have been born blind, but that never stopped him from much. He could still get around the desolate ruined city he was born into. He managed to stumble into the most interesting of places, including a little shop
who had no idea what to do with the young, blind coatl, but Fhuar proved to everyone he could manage on his own. He never found that place again though, much to his dismay.

The part that both amazed and creeped others out the most is that the little death enthused child looked around as if he had sight all along. His parents and their kin figured their religion had blessed him in some way, possibly other worldly. Fhuar on the other never figured out how much of that religious crap he actually believed. The god of the old text sure seemed a lot more believable and a better alternative to whatever deities were around now. Though they all did almost the exact same thing.

No one ever bothered to teach Fhuar how to read or write because of his blindness, instead he recited letters aloud and listened carefully when others spoke or explained things to him and would feel out words and letters engraved on tombstones and such. He learned which letters were which, how they sounded and how they were written this way. Fhuar prefers to scratch things out in the dirt or other soft material so he can feel what he's written to make sure it's correct. However, he can talk perfectly fine, other than being really quiet when he does so.

It wasn't long before the young afflicted juvenile felt it was time to leave. He had heard plenty of the ceremonies and helped out enough in the graveyard that he knew what he wanted to do and how to do it, but his services wouldn't be needed at a church. So he packed up and left, but not before a few of the self proclaimed "Angels" and his parents saw him off. After that the young male traveled for a long time and was brought or followed by death where ever he went. Many clans shunned him away, sometimes aggressively, because they heard rumors of a coatl who other's seemingly drop death around.

It might've just been stupidity or the power in lies, but to this day Fhuar hasn't killed anyone. That's not his job, he may be enthralled by the process of death and does indeed like to watch others die, but his job is to bury the dead. Not do the killing. Instead others decided to miss judge based off the fear that death invokes, another thing that Fhuar never quite understood.

However, there's always that possibility that the young, afflicted male has some connection with death. One that he doesn't realize, being born and maturing in a place riddle in religion can do some strange things. Even some in his current home believe him to be some kind of harbinger of death. That's the main reason he resides in his own little den, covered by starwood roots, hanging gems and other shiny things. Unless you deliberately look for it, his home isn't very noticeable, except at night when there's light coming from it.
