A brilliant Lightning-born theologian and paranormal investigator, Lorraine grew up an orphan, bouncing from Flight to Flight. This experience instilled in her a love of travel and a deep desire to see the world, and she attended universities in nearly every Flight before eventually settling down at Home. Well-versed in the various religious practices around Sornieth, she is a spiritual and kind dragon with a genuine desire to and love of sharing her knowledge. She can often be found in the company of her husband Israfel, another of Home's professors, and their daughter, Mira. Lorraine had a lifelong interest in the paranormal, and thanks to her husband, a reputable Shade-hunter, she enjoys the feeling of being able to help other dragons when they investigate cases. She knows more about the Shade than most dragons will ever get the chance to learn, and the knowledge of just how dangerous Sornieth can be has perhaps contributed to her protective nature.

Sensitive, gentle, and kind, Lorraine is a genuinely sweet and friendly dragon. She is introverted, and is typically reserved and soft-spoken. Her students describe her as an almost cartoonishly nice dragon, and it is nearly impossible to get on her bad side. She rarely has an unkind word to say about anyone, and her students often simply adore her thanks to her very encouraging nature. She hates punishing students and will often overlook infractions if she can just get students to promise they won't do it again, and she rarely has to repeat herself on that count. From a very young age, she has been, in her own words, sensitive - very likely, according to Israfel, she's mildly clairvoyant. Touching other dragons or objects gives her brief flashes into their emotions and sometimes their pasts, and she suffers from nightmares and occasional visions of possible futures. She thought that her magic simply never developed, but upon magical screenings, Home's other professors believe it very likely she might be a cross-Flight Water magician, and her magic simply manifests as clairvoyance - not an unusual occurrence for gifted Water magicians. This would be quite the rare and unique occurrence indeed, but Lorraine isn't really interested in the reason why, truth be told. She typically wears gloves to avoid getting unwanted insight into the feelings of others, and habitually shies away from physical contact. It is always easy to tell which dragons she completely trusts because they're the only ones she doesn't wear gloves around. Regardless, Lorraine finds it very easy to get to know others, and she is well-loved for her kindness and for how easy it is to get along with her. A knowledgeable and beloved educator around Home, Lorraine is absolutely devoted to her family and to Home.
