indentAyers is a scavenger, and, according to anyone with eyes (besides himself) also a thief. He looks around the Shifting Expanse for "discarded" building materials to pawn off, and he's "borrowed" things from Tesla and her peers in every part of the Machinist Guild. He's a scrapper, and is considered by some to be something of a nuisance, and by most to be something of a hazard. He's quite rough around the edges, and more than willing to fight if it means a quick buck, though he lost his back leg after a particularly rough and cold desert night when he was left trapped under some junk he was attempting to carry. Somehow, an occurrence like this hasn't convinced him to play nice with others. indentHe managed to be found and got the leg replaced by Llueve, and he now lives with the clan and works as a scavenger under Tesla, provided he doesn't steal, or at least that she doesn't ask too many questions. While doing this, he found out that the mechanics at the Source implemented her liquid sacridite batteries in their automated sentries, despite her warning not to do so. He overheard one of the engineers mention that one of them had gained sentience. Ayers has never been known for his bleeding heart, but on hearing this, he immediately liberated Beta.v2 from his servitude. They've been inseparable so far, and Ayers seems keen on downplaying exactly how much he cares about him. |
