Mate: Harris
"Hey Diane, what's up? You?" And that was the last straw.

Diane had always been a rather large dragon for her breed, twice or even thrice the size of most other faes. It wasn't unheard of, but it got her plenty of teasing and while she's sure most of it was in good fun, eventually she was just fed up with it all. So after saying her goodbyes she packed her supplies and left the mighty lair in Windsinger's domain.

Far and wide she traveled, until the winds carried her to the Tangled Wood. Tired and thirsty she descended to a river and drank deep from the silty waters. As chance would have it, the tundra dragon Harris was out fishing at the time and, despite the body language barrier all fae had to deal with when speaking with other breeds, he happily led her back to his clan.

Once there she received a warm welcome; well, she assumed so anyway. And best of all, nobody to make any blood-boiling quips about her height.
She and Harris have hit it off quite well. While she's amicable with every member of the shadow lair, she and him have a special connection. It might be because he was teased for being short while a hatchling; she can sympathize. They spend a great deal of time out by the delta's river, fishing together.

When she's not with him, she's helping out around the lair. Some of the other dragons keep telling her to tone her voice down; she knows her breed usually sound monotone to dragons so she tries to put feeling into her voice. Too much, perhaps? Of note is Periwinkle being unbearably awkward around her; the mirror must not know how to deal with having other non-shadow dragons around. Personally Diane thinks she's overthinking it. They're all dragons in the end, no?
It's so strange to consider, but the clan has actually grown to mostly the same size her old one had been when she left. And moving inland, away from the Drag's river, means she and Harris have to go further to fish. He doesn't mind, but she does. It's such a long walk and even if she's large by fae standards, it's such an unbearable trip unless she's clinging to his coat.

And that just makes her feel clingy.

On the plus side, she feels her tone of voice is coming along nicely. She's been trying to replicate what other dragon races do, but it's such a challenge. Luckily, with her mate by her side, Diane's confident she can figure it out before much longer.
