Niaka is tough as nails, and not a soul in the shipyard dares to cross her. She's young, but she's seen her fair share of naval battles, and has lost the use of one eye as a result. It disqualifies her from any sort of sailing, particularly during the course of war, but rumor has it that the injury has only kindled her passion for shipbuilding.

It falls to Niaka to repair and replace ships that are unfit for service, and to dream up designs that surpass their predecessors in both looks and function. She is zealous about her role even on the bad days, when her war wounds rattle her bones, and the good days see her storming about the harbor with determination rolling off of her in waves.

Very few are able to break past the stern, professional veneer Niaka wears, but beneath all the discipline and nautical jargon, she is a compassionate soul, never one to ignore those in need. When the summer storms reach a frenzy, stranding dragons at sea or endangering the coastlines, she is often seen in her personal boat, doing all that she can to save the lives of those at risk.

There are also rumors that she keeps a pet cat, the only soft thing in her life, but they are currently unsubstantiated.
