Biography

Charcoal is like the lone wolf among the clan's dragons. His goal is to become strong and vanquish his enemies. (Well that's not so bad). However, many dragons don't really admire him doing so through looting and pounding on homes in the forest from evening till morn. The solution to this problem came as Tamako (the exact opposite of Charcoal) challenged Charcoal to hide'n'seek in the forest in the middle of the night. Tamako was so great at the game(most likely cuz he could disguise himself in the numerous flowers) that it would take all night and Charcoal would be to exhausted to continue past dawn. No problem for Tamako as he takes many naps throughout the day.

Despite the occasions of "borrowing" dragons' belongings and precious sleep, Charcoal helps keep the clan up to date on beastclan movements, dominance, and dragons levels. He helps out dominance for motivation young warriors ready for battle. Many believe that his scar came from his battles in dominance or fights with ''the Crowtalonian ladies'' but in all honesty, no one really knows.

Smoky Bantam Fangars come in quite handy after battles as they shower you with affection and just happen to know the right spot to massage that muscle used in battle. Other than Tamako, this little fluffball seems to be the only one (other than tricksters) that is seen with Charcoal. But who wouldn't love a dragon who cuddles with you at night(oops didn't mean to mess up his bad-boy rep). XD

Well Charcoal still is quite naughty as he sneaks out at night to go to Crowtalon Clan( a little place in the Shadow domain) and is usually brought back after a few days or so by Raven or mates of dragons Charcoal was trying to hang out with. Not the best way to meet someone new but this lone wolf will never give up.

Story by TheTawnydragon

Halloween was approaching and Charcoal knew it was Wispwillow's favorite holiday. He had to see the mother of his hatchlings again. He longed to see his son and how strong of a fighter he had become. He yearned to hear Wispwillow say his name as she lay next to him in her lair. He knew Raven must have crushed Wispwillow after finding out about the hatchlings, but the pair kept them a secret as long as they could. He hated to see her become a scandal of her clan while he could parade around his clan and the Tricksters would congratulate him. He knew Raven was starting to warm up to him, along with the other Sparrow caretakers of Crowtalon. He felt they were only relieved he wasn't talking with them instead. The difference is that Wispwillow loved him. He didn't know how it started but every time he visited he would remember those cool, purple eyes looking intrigued. He knew he must've looked and smelled out of place. He came from Nature flight and her from Shadow. It could've never worked, yet somehow it did. Now he was going to see the other missing pieces of his family. He's made this work out for himself and Wispwillow. Neither could leave their home clans so they had to compromise. Even though he wishes she moved to SolarCell, he respected the duty she had to her clan. It tied her to Shadow forever and he was alright with that.

Charcoal was unsure about his son, Mosspool, as he was on his way to Crowtalon. The last time he talked with his son, Mosspool seemed very strong but very emotional. Charcoal hoped his son would like to see him again and hopefully he'd be alright. He wished he worked with his clan's battalions, but he knew Wispwillow would disapprove. That's the only thing Charcoal never understood. He believed fighting for your clan was the greatest honor any dragon could attain. That's why he tried to take Mosspool because he was the strongest, but Wispwillow told him she wouldn't allow herself to give up her child to see him sacrificed. All in all, Charcoal feels Wispwillow and Mosspool are doing great, according to Wispwillow's letters. Little did he know what was truly occuring with his son and just how troubled he was. If anything, Charcoal returning could possibly be the last breath in the relationship between his son and himself.
Charcoal's life had always been full of great mystery, from the rumors about his scar to the sudden drop in being a solo warrior to teaching warriors. The truth? Read Calvus' page for the full story. In short, Charcoal took an interest in Calvus as a young hatchling who had begun following Charcoal and watching him train as a means to prove himself to his fellow Tricksters. Charcoal tried to even run marathons to avoid Calvus; however, Charcoal finally caved when he'd return only to find Calvus playing with Dusty and eating his lunch Dusty was supposed to guard. Soon, even Charcoal warmed up to Calvus. He let Calvus ride on his back while Charcoal answered the questions he asked. From favorite foods to coolest battle stories, Charcoal answered them all, little by little reminding him of the moments he had in the better times in his life. His time with his brother, Charlie. On a trip to escort the young Calvus to say farewell to his foster father, Charcoal met the love of his life, Wispwillow, a dragon who warmed his heart with the similar longing for a family.

Although many dragons don't agree with Charcoal's views on DOM, his loved ones, who know his whole story understand. Wispwillow even connecting Charcoal with the dragons he needed to find to overcome his secrets. Nowadays, Charcoal continues by teaching hatchlings the ways of DOM assisted occasionally by Calvus, a dragon he considers as his son, and how to fight their battles. His relationship with his family has improved ever since Charcoal opened his heart up to prevent himself from losing Mosspool, writing a final letter, an invitation into the truth.
