Ophelia is often referred to as one of the most beautiful dragons of the Clan, something she finds both flattering and embarrassing. She's a sweet dragons who has some issues with her self-worth and confidence. Fortunately, she has many dragons who are supportive of her and tries to help her improve the view of herself. Known for her gentle and caring nature, she is happy to help anyone with anything. If it's moving something between lairs or bringing something to a certain dragon, she will do it. She's the one who usually brings the food to Hellebore, a dragon who's weakened body stops him from moving around much, though she does it more because she's fond of the Guardian and not out of any sort of obligation. While it has never actually been stated by Apholith, there's a rumor that Ophelia will be the new Matriarch should Apholith no longer be able to lead.

Ophelia has been in the Southwind Clan all her life, having been born in the very same lair as the Clan has always resided in. A pair of Coatls once stayed in the lair for some time, to take shelter from the terrible snowstorm that ravaged the area at that time. Soon after the snowstorm finally subsided enough for flight to be safe again, they left the lair very early in the morning. And they left a lone egg after them. The Matriarch of the Clan, Apholith took pity on the abandoned egg. The Guardian had been orphaned as an egg and had only survived because a group of nomad had found her. So Apholith decided to take it upon herself to hatch this egg and raise the hatchling as her own.

A small, beautiful Coatl was hatched from the egg and was named Ophelia. For some time, she thought that the Guardian was her mother. But as she grew older, Apholith felt that she deserved the right to be told the truth. Ophelia learned that her parents had just left her behind and without telling anyone why. It was a big blow to her self-worth and self-confidence: What did she do wrong? Was there something wrong with her? Why did they leave her behind?

It took some time for her to rebuild her feelings of self-worth and self-confidence, but her adopted mother and those around her were there to support her. Even if the questions remained in her head she felt that she could still have a happy life without those who abandoned her.

As time passed, the Clan began to grow from just a small number of dragons into a proper community. One of the dragons that eventually joined was another Coatl known as Silver. He was such a shy and gentle dragon, having been treated badly in the past for both the colors of his plumage and for being born of the Shadow flight. But Ophelia quickly grew fond of him and he showed to have feelings for her in return. Nowadays they spend a lot of time together, still not officially a couple but there is little doubt in anyone's mind that they are bound to become mates.

They just have to take things at their own pace.
Noticeable relationships:

Having taken care of Ophelia since she was still in her egg, Apholith is seen as Ophelia's mother. While the Guardian often is busy with caring for the Clan these days they still maintain a close relationship.

Silver may not have a high opinion of himself, something Ophelia is aware of, but she thinks he's the most wonderful and handsomest Coatl she has ever seen. They often spend time together and she wants to confess her feelings for him, but she's too shy to do so.

Hellebore has grown to be somewhat of a father figure for Ophelia. She often visits him to bring him food and make sure he is comfortable, which he appreciates immensely. Even if she finds his appearance to be a little disturbing, she's very fond of him.

Aldwyn is a good friend of Ophelia, even if some may think that he has more romantic feelings towards her. He often gives her flowers he knows she likes to cheer her up and this can be mistaken as a romantic gesture. But they are just good friends.

While Irwing is nervous among most dragons, he's not nervous around Ophelia. He sympathize a lot with her as he had a troubled relationship with his parents while she was abandoned by hers. They see each other as good friends.

After Marlais and her mate decided to settle down here, Ophelia soon became a good friend of Marlais. Despite the difference in both appearance and upbringing, their personalities match and they feel like they can relate much to each other.

Trivia:

• The only thing that Ophelia has that once belonged to her biological parents are a fancy comb made out of seashells and wood. The teeth are considerably sharp, even if Ophelia has never sharpened them, and could even serve as a weapon. She has no love for her biological parents or this comb that once belonged to them, but she just can't bring herself to get rid of it.
• She is very fond of the colors pink and purple, if her clothes didn't make it obvious enough. Aldwyn often brings her flowers of those colors because he knows she likes them.
• As the adopted daughter of the Matriarch, Ophelia has taken it upon herself to help wherever she is able to. More times than not it is to help taking care of the weakened Hellebore and make sure he stays fed and comfortable. Some say that she is the heiress of the Southwind Clan, destined to lead after Apholith no longer is capable. She doesn't like to think about that though.
