The jolly Coatl known as Aldwyn is considered one of the most influential members of the Southwind Clan, even if his skillset almost only has to do with gardening. And his knowledge of plants are very impressive. Despite having spent most of his life in the Viridian Labyrinth, he knows even of rare plants from distant regions and how to care for them. He doesn't know as much of what little flora is available at the Southern Icefields, and this is one of the reasons he was happy to move the snow-covered landscape to learn more of the plants. He'd also love the challenge of keeping plants alive despite the harsh enviroment. While not a very skilled healer, he has knowledge of herbs and plants that can help with wounds and diseases. He often works together with Izarre to help bring her any plants that could be of help to the Skydancer, who does all she can to keep the Clan healthy and safe. While the fiery Izarre is quite a contrast to his relaxed and jovial personality, they get along surprisingly well.

While the Coatl was born at the Tsunami Flats, his Clan moved to stay in the Gladeveins when he was very young. This was where he grew up and gained a love for gardening. Aldwyn may have been born of the Water Flight but proved himself to be a natural at tending to plants. His ability to manipulate water made it easy to care for even the most fragile flowers. The gardens he grew were quite a sight to behold, even if he was just a young gardener by the time he cultivated them. His incredible skills as a gardener eventually reached dragons outside of his Clan, and one day he was approached by a young Nocturne of the Wind Flight. The nervous dragon introduced himself as Irwing and stuttered out that he had come to ask to be Aldwyn's apprentice.

Initially, Aldwyn was shocked to be asked to take him under his wing, but the shock was soon replaced by joy. He was honored and happy to gain a student and assistant! While the Nocturne didn't have Water magic to aid him, he turned out to be a quick and inventive learner. They also grew to become good friends, to the point where Aldwyn sees Irwing as his younger brother.

While Aldwyn was glad to stay in the lush areas of the Viridian Labyrinth, a part of him dreamed of seeing exotic new places and to study plants that were way different than what was available to him in the forests and gardens he called his home. The opportunity to do so appeared when a certain Guardian named Apholith, who had stayed with his Clan for a short time a few years prior, contacted him and asked for his help. Intrigued, he and his assistant traveled all the way to the Southern Icefields to meet with her. There they learned that the Guardian had found her Charge, which turned out to be a beautiful and lush grove that was hidden away within a mountain. An incredible marvel in this cold climate.

Aldwyn agreed to stay and tend to the grove, making sure it stayed healthy and beautiful. In a way, Aldwyn ended up being the last line of defense to keep the grove safe. But he didn't mind it when this realization hit him. He was happy to officially move into the lair and that Irwing had chosen to stay with him. They helped established what soon would be known as the Southwind Clan and have been a part of the Clan since then.
Noticeable relationships:

Irwing is Aldwyn's assistant and student, but the Coatl does sees him as a younger brother as well. These two are rarely apart and Aldwyn is one of the few people that Irwing isn't scared to accidently end up prattling away with.

The silent Matriarch Apholith is considered a close friend of Aldwyn, and he's honored that she trusts him to the point where he is allowed to care for her Charge. He's convinced that she's in love with Hellebore and he doesn't hide this suspicion from others.

Hellebore and Aldwyn often end up spending time together, as the Guardian is often resting in the hidden grove when Aldwyn tends to it. They have ended up being good friends after being around each other so much.

Aldwyn often helps Awakened by fetching plants and herbs that she needs to take care of injuries and illnesses. He's always happy to see her and some speculate that he may have a small crush on the Ridgeback.

Some may think that Aldwyn has feelings for the beautiful Ophelia, but he just considers her a sweetheart who should have been treated better by her biological parents. He often gives her flowers he knew she'd like to cheer her up. They are just good friends, even if it might seem like there is more between them.

Silver is one of those who thinks Aldwyn has feelings for Ophelia, whom Silver has feelings for. This has led Silver to be a little withdraw around the other male, though Aldwyn doesn't hold any ill will towards him. He thinks they could be good friends if given the chance.

Trivia:

• His main skillset may be gardening but he is a skilled magic-user as well. He can use his Water magic both to tend to the plants and to use offensively if needed. Though this is something he tries to avoid, as he rather stay away from violence.
• Sadly, Alwyn has a hard time speaking Draconian. Though he does understand it well enough. Fortunately, Irwing has managed to learn how to understand language of Coatls and works as a translator should it be neccessary. Less fortunate is the fact that Irwing is very nervous when speaking to others and often stutters as a result. However, Aldwyn is just grateful that the Nocturne is willing to translate for him.
• This Coatl actually has a colony of mushrooms growing on one of his shoulders, though these are not dangerous and can be removed without causing his own body any harm. These mushrooms are actually surprisingly nutritious, both to dragons and other plants. Though some dragons are hesitant to eat something that has grown on someone else's body.
• When not tending to to the grove, Irwing and Aldwyn help gather plant food for the rest of the Clan from the nearby area.
