| Kamehla and Tahi were inseparable from birth, so much so that fellow dragons joked that they were twins separated at birth. Oroitz, Kamehla's father, let them play so long as they didn't cross the clan border. And so the boys chased and tumbled under the safety of their clan. But that of course, could not last forever. Their adventurous spirit rose beyond their desire for safety, and it was Tahi who flew Kamehla far beyond the boundary. To this day, neither remembers what called them that day. Only that when they got there, someone was waiting for them. A lot of someones. A longneck hunting party who were hunting more than plants. |
| They were captured, along with several other imperial hatchlings, and taken on a grueling journey across the territory to Light, where Tahi and Kamehla were separated. They kept Kamehla as a pet, due to his species, but kept Tahi and the others in a small enclosure with little food or water. Kamehla brought him food that the longnecks gave him, but both of them feared the day Tahi would be thrown in a pit with the other dead imperial hatchlings in the center of camp. They sought a way to escape, and a night with no moon. When they had one, they tried to run. But it was too late. The emperor broke loose through the camp, and Tahi was drawn to it. |

| They realized they were too weak from the camp to escape the emperor. At least, both of them. Tahi would fight it off while Kamehla did his best to run. He thought he would never see his friend again when he was found delirious days later by a nature scout and brought back to Garigill. The clan tried to find his family, but by the time they found The Clan of the Wandering, Kamehla was an adult settled into his home. He worked with Kyani to heal his broken spirit, and in time the two fell in love. They now travel together as ambassadors and exorcise ghosts. When he's alone, Kamehla swears he sometimes sees Tahi out of the corner of his eye. But that's impossible. He should have passed on, right? |
