ABOUT. When Iaso arrived at the Clan of Rattling Bone (a brief stop at the tavern was all she wanted to make), she stayed because of a competition between two dragons: a conceited spiral, and a wildclaw who wished to put said-spiral back in his place. The spiral, Miles, convinced her that he could help her physically speak again, and, through some ridiculous hope, she agreed. The device damaged her throat and did not work. Miles was devastated and apologetic, so overcome with remorse that Iaso's lack of emotion came as a surprise to the both of them. She should have known better than to have allowed herself this small glimmer of hope. She didn't know why she stayed. She still doesn't. IMPRESSIONS. PAST. As a hatchling, Iaso was playful and energetic, romping about with her siblings in the wastelands of the Plaguebringer. She still retained the same warm, bright attitude when she grew older, treating those around her with respect and regard. But good things never last, and it wasn't long before she had to leave her clan to find her own path. Alas, Sorineth is not kind to the innocent, and she found herself waylaid and abducted by a band of dragons who conducted experiments on unwilling others of their own kind. It doesn't do to travel alone, she learned. Their methods weren't exactly cruel, but most had been inhumane and degrading, and she was left with physical and emotional scars that were still present after months spent trying to forget. Eventually, when she escaped (a lucky opportunity, she was sure), she found that the augmentations and additions that they had added affected her Plague abilities. Somehow, her connection to the Plaguebringer and her magic had been enhanced, allowing her to perform feats of magic that she hadn't been capable of before. It came at a price. The screaming and crying that she had done in captivity had rendered her voice permanently hoarse and rough, and the trauma that she'd undergone had her refusing to speak. And weeks after she escaped, she was caught in a riot (entirely accidental, of course) and had her throat slit when she tried to use her Plague magic to leave. Through sheer luck—and the highly-saturated Plague magic flowing in her veins—she survived, though by now her throat was irreversibly damaged and she could barely speak. The choice to isolate herself was hers and her alone. AFFILIATIONS. Miles: Mate. MISC. she/her slight, gaunt, heavy-browed At a Window Half-Light planned outfit | xxxxxxxxxxx |
