i've struggled to ever exalt dragons because i'm a big baby who feels bad about doing that (even if in lore it's not a bad thing), but it's totally fine if you end up exalting a dragon you bought from me! that's entirely your business! i'm also trying to get to a point where i can exalt dragons myself without feeling as bad about it :P
