"The majestic home of the Foxfire Players draws visitors from throughout the land. Enter and sit and watch our dazzling performances of comedy and tragedy, overwhelmed by the dark splendor of the place. carpeted with dark purple mossy satin, lit by a thousand candles. the overwhelming feeling is that of entering a world of deep, imponderable mystery.

Most of the building's bulk is located underground, with only ten or so floors rising among the tall, dark pines. An average audience member come to see a show would only visit two or three floors, and few dragons really understand the true vastness of this structure. The blueprints, long ago lost to time, detailed a building containing no less than twenty floors, a vast maze of narrow staircases, ladders, lofts, lifts, platforms, all jumbled together in a chaotic mess so characteristic of shadow flight, so complex that any unwary dragon who wandered off would soon get desolately lost.

Some of this space is needed to house the powerful machinery that lifts the giant sets to and from the stage, while other areas are essentially massive warehouses for every prop one can imagine needing, from boxes and boxes of intricate fae amber jewelry pieces, to a life-size sailing ship, to huge, lovingly made marionettes of the Deities, whose gemstone eyes glitter with a primeval, deep magic.

For performers, there are some seventy rooms in total, with extensive wardrobe closets. They are segregated by species as used to be customary, in order to save space by sizing each room to fit the dimensions of each species perfectly, from minuscule nooks and crannies for faes and spirals, to vast open spaces for larger breeds such as imperials or guardians. Despite this, today most of the Players prefer to all congregate together in the larger rooms, regardless of breed, in the more modern and casual fashion.

The immense structure is a relic of times long past. Nobody knows who built it, only that nobody has been there in a long, long time, until the Foxfire Players discovered it, dug it out of the brambles, and made their attempts to restore it to its former glory. They have done a fairly good job, but there are so many elements and areas that remain virtually unknown.

Everyone is busy busy busy running the bits they have fully explored and restored, the actors rehearsing, stagehands building elaborate sets, stage managers screaming at everyone to stop eating in costume for shadowbinder's sake I am so sick of you all, directors directing and advertising and hiring and firing; nobody has much time on their claws to go poking about. There are no less than 2500 doors in the place. The Players prefer to stick to the places they know well, and everyone knows it's extremely unwise to go traipsing down long, empty corridors and stairwells when you simply do not know where they go or what is at the end or how to get back. It gives even the most seasoned resident a little shiver down scales now and then, to imagine the countless dark and dusty and damp empty spaces below and above and all around.

But the show must go on, so they push it into the back of their minds and dazzle the audience into a standing ovation every single time.
