The forest might have been safe when the night was clear; inviting, perhaps, or even alluring, until the fog drew in like a great intake of breath. The glowshrooms that lit the path at your feet are naught but pinpricks of light, their absence threatening to lead you astray. The forest, which should be alive around you, is silent. The wind brings with it a thick, cloying scent, like nectar, heavy in the air; something glows far off in the fog, something more substantial than the glowshrooms; something more...alive.

Perched on a hill, jutting out of the fog, a clan of dragons waits, bathed in candlelight, their gaze trained adoringly on the soft glow of the moon; in the middle of this congregation sits a young fae, wraith-like in the darkness, adorned in silk and feather and bone - he is ready to attempt the Flight, taking to the sky in a coming of age, his destination far above him. If he prevails, the moon closer to his grasp than any before him, the clan will be his.

You are an intruder here, and your presence has not gone unnoticed.

It does not do well to interrupt a clan of shadow in their worship.

I don't know how he found him but my friend showed me Sandy saying he was the "lovechild of Tisrin and Serik" (two of my dragons) and I can't stop laughing because it's true.
