I was looking for XXY dragons to train and donate to a charity program, but I didn't notice until after I bought her that both her parents are unnamed. I figured that might be a turn-off to some buyers, and that was all the justification I needed to keep her. ^^'

[I]The tent had been quiet for a little while, as the dragons entering Mainframe's beauty contests milled around, waiting to see what would happen. No one seemed to be paying attention to the machine that was usually the center of the action, and it was easy for a certain two Spirals to slip quietly out of the crowd and move to get a closer look... It was even better than she had been lead to believe by Mystery's tale. So much power sparking around it, so much energy to be felt, so much wonderful magic in the air...laughing in sheer delight, the excitable Spiral shot forward towards this marvelous machine, expertly dodging her mate's tail as she did, and completely ignoring the frightened shaking of her Compamion Comet as the pulsing energy started to build around her....[/I] [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=4677342] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/46774/4677342_350.png[/img] [/url] [I][b]Runemaster[/b] snorted in amusement at his mate's antics, slipping easily past her as she began to undulate in the air near the odd machine. Directing Tre to examine the other side, he nodded to himself. He could not deny that Spell's excitement was warranted. He could feel the runes powering this device pulsing with energy. Oh, what he would give to have full access to the schematic for those runes....Flicking his tongue out, Rune darted even closer to the device, studying it intently, dancing a pattern around his mate as he did so, and absently noting that the air appeared to becoming more charged the longer they moved...[/I] [columns][url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=3878829] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/avatars/38789/3878829.png[/img] [/url][nextcol][I][b]Duskshadow[/b]'s head jerked up sharply, and she whirled towards her Clanmates. The Clan Mother gaped in shock, and dawning horror. The air around the two oblivious Spirals was literally sparking, little Lightning Bolts appearing and disappearing in ominous displays as their magic reached out to the latent power coming from the Metamorhper, which was beginning to hum... Quickly, the older Guardian stepped forward, clearing her throat. "Don't you two need to actually offer some objects to this nice Coatl [b]before[/b] you can see what the machine does?" Distracted, the two Spirals broke off their dance, focusing on Mainframe instead. Instantly, the power began to settle, and the budding storm dissipated. Even better, the Metamorpher stopped it's odd hum. Duskshadow sighed in relief as her Clanmates sheepishly unburdened themselves of the trinkets they had gathered, and Rune whistled in the Centaur. Now if only she could keep them focused on wanting to watch what the machine was [b]supposed[/b] to do, rather than speculating about what it [b]might[/b] do with a little encouragement from them....[/I][/columns] Sending some items now!

I don't think I'm being flood controlled again, but now it's not registering any sent messages. It's just refreshing the windows. Those of you waiting on your badge will still get one, I just... need to figure out what it's doing. sighs

What's going to happen? Will those who volunteered be okay? What if it all goes terribly, terribly wrong? Oh, you can't stand the suspense! Your stomach turns with anxiety... Mainframe calls his volunteers up and opens the hatch the three Lightning dragons he made earlier on used to climb out. They look at each other nervously, but all climb in one at a time, trying to stand on the safest looking piles of ink and paint coated goodies as they can. The last thing anyone sees before he throws the switch is an Inky Octopus sticking to one of the dragons' faces, flailing its tentacles around. Flash! Boom! Sizzle! Pop! After a few moments spent gathering their senses, the dragons crawl back out again, newly remade and decorated with assorted augmentations, markings, special patterns, and other oddities. The crowd cheers in delight, leaving Mainframe to collapse over a storage crate in relief. It's always important to remember that most great-looking accented or dressed dragons start with a good base. On days like today, you can't help but be reminded of what that means! There were so many naturally pretty dragons on this thread, I felt like my eyes were attending a visual feast fit for the dragon deities themselves. So many colors! So many breeds! So many genes! And it wasn't all grown dragons, either. A couple of precious and promising hatchlings also made their wobbling way into the contest! (Isn't it nice to be able to use them for avatars now? Maybe one day I'll get to run a bump contest all about the best-dressed permababies!) Thank you all so much for proving that a dragon can still be pretty without a speck of external decoration. Hopefully a few new players passing by got some ideas about how to make a bold and beautiful lair while they save up for apparel and other goodies! @GryphonSong pulls a second prize today with the help of [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=42194242]Shadow.[/url] I don't know what dark and spooky forest that Skydancer crawled out of, but I do know I wouldn't want to run into it there! The glow of the green in the wings helps soften up the shininess of Iridescent, and the way it appears to fade out really sells the eerie look. It'd be great all by itself, but those eyes add a perfect final pinch of creepiness and tips it over the edge. Great stuff! Pandion, Syceris, Lilystar6, and Ototo all came close to nabbing the second spot. The goth-y Imperial is neat and clean, breaking past my usual distaste for Imperials, and the red eyes once again do a lot to push that creepiness factor. The blue and pink Skydancer is the [i]only[/i] Filigree dragon I have ever seen and liked, and I had no idea cerulean gave double colors. Pandion's pretty green and white dragon feels suited to a nice mid to late winter, when the snow is melting and grass peeps through to match the evergreens, and Ototo's permababy Pearlcatcher couldn't look any more like a bundle of Lightning energy if it tried. If I had to pick a third place, I'd be sunk for sure! And that doesn't even take into account all the others I adored and clapped at all day. @Strawberrium picked up the other Guardian scroll with their suspicious Spiral. I'm a total sucker for that breed, as anyone who's known me long enough can tell you, and this Plague boy totally looks like the scary beastie the description in the post makes him out to be. [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=42845615]He might be called Pest,[/url] but he's no such thing. Deep and unnerving reds pair well with eyes so dark they almost look completely black, and I can imagine the jaguar spots help him hide while he's sneaking up on someone. They also look a little bit like sickness blotches, and that's pretty appropriate for a Plague dragon. Well done!
