Spiral, Jupiter/Bee/Opal

I just really like the colours and matchiness of Jupiter with the curly pose on Spiral males; I also chose spiral because of their very noticeable eyes. Bee and Opal give him a bit of "flakiness", it also sort of lifts the look into stained glass aesthetic territory.

Add me to the pinglist, please! ;D I got a bit carried away with this challenge. /haha Oh well, even if I don't win him, at the end of this event I'll have fleshed-out lore for a cool Light Rep that I can use for some other dragon if need be. ;P [br]------- [br] [columns]xxxxxx[nextcol][nextcol] Challenge #1: Scry [nextcol][/columns] [br] [columns][nextcol][nextcol][/columns] Iridescent - Metals [br] [columns]I think that Iridescent in this colour resembles the Light Festival items really well, with their light golden colours and their shimmering pearly orbs decorating them. Iridescent - Metals

lightmidsmall.png

I think that Iridescent in this colour resembles the Light Festival items really well, with their light golden colours and their shimmering pearly orbs decorating them.

The contrast of the light silvery belly and the sun-illuminated body is also reminiscent of the landscape you can see in the Mirrorlight Promenade, with its white pillars that I can picture almost glistening in the sun-soaked ruins.
lightshieldl.png

lightmidsmall.png

Bee - Saffron

lightmidsmall.png

light.png
An obvious choice, since they so clearly resembles the stained glass windows that so majestically decorate the most opulent of buildings. Stained glass windows are also used to play with light-effects, the sun passing through the coloured glass painting beautiful patterns in the interior of the building they're placed on.

Not only that, but they also look like the sky during sunset, when the brightest stars have just started to be observable despite the sun's last lingering moments before nightfall.

lightmidsmall.png

Runes - Banana

lightmidsmall.png

This gene resembles sunlight so well, it accentuates some body parts, like the Wildclaw's horns, while not standing out too much since in some places it also almost flawlessly blends into his Iridescent body.
I also chose it since the Runes are reminiscent of either enchantments a Light Representative could have engraved in their body thanks to magic, an eternal blessing by the Light or wise words to live by. Light Dragons are Philosophers and Scholars, and rune-engraved scrolls are one of their signature marks.
lightb1.png

Aside from that, I picture this Wildclaw as a talented dragon well-versed in the Fine Arts, such as painting, so masterfully decorating his body with runic letters is something he could do without an issue. However, I do think that the Runes gene can manifest itself naturally, with either no real meaning to the runes, or as message from the Light itself. The message could be a calling for a chosen dragon to don the robes of a Scholar and embark on a journey to preach the virtuous qualities of Light to every living being in Sornieth and beyond.

lightmidsmall.png

Breed - Wildclaw

lightmidsmall.png

I first thought about choosing a more obvious breed, namely, the Pearlcatcher, since they're one of the Lightweaver's breeds. However, after some thought, I decided to choose a Wildclaw. Why? Well, I picture this Wildclaw as, aside from a Light Representative, an artist.

blankstar.png
Wildclaws are known for their hierarchical and competitive societies, so it'd be fitting to have him be part of a society of haughty Light Wildclaws. Just as Light itself usually represents superiority in morals, aesthetic and virtues (angels, god, etc. not necessarily FR themed only), many of these Light Wildclaws think of themselves as superior to even the Lightweaver's first creation, Imperials.

This Light Rep, however, wouldn't be a dragon that was graced with the highest of ranks in Wildclaw society; he's not particularly strong and he is calm and gentle, not at all as fierce and competitive nor haughty as the other Wildclaws.

Before becoming a Light Rep, he dedicated his life to painting beautiful artworks during his free time, while the rest of his time was spent working as an Interior and Architectural Designer for whoever the most high-ranking Wildclaw family happened to be at the moment.
Wildclaw artists are known for their skills and their eye for detail, since as their official lore states, the constant changes in leadership have them redecorating their superior's lairs all too-often from top to bottom.
cherubgeneeggivory.png

I imagine that his Clan has, obviously, encouraged him to pursue a better social standing, so him putting down effort to become a good Light Rep is something they have wholeheartedly supported him in, even if this meant losing one of the most skilled artists they had to offer to the powers-at-be.

lightmidsmall.png

Eye Type - Common

lightmidsmall.png

The eyes are beautiful as is, no need to make them Glowing since I, lore-wise, prefer to have his eyes glowing sporadically due to intense use of magic.

The Common eyes are a nice gilded shade and thanks to the fact that they have pupils, something the Glowing eyes do not depict, he seems attentive, alert and awake, perfect for a Designer with an eye for detail. ;)

Light with a bit of darkness seeping in. The breed I decided to use was a Pearlcatcher, not only because I love them, but because it feels right to have a representative for the Lightweaver be one of her own children. The primary I chose as Python for the high contrast of the black-ish grey against the golden yellows. The secondary felt like it needed some extra flair, so I felt Bee worked best to show the shimmering glory that Light stands for. The tertiary, finally, I chose Firefly, but rather than insects, I choose to imagine they are Light Sprites, clinging to this envoy of the Lightweaver. I left the common eyes because I felt the glow was a little too on the nose for a Light Rep, and the bright but calm yellow of the Common suits him well.

Metals has a lot of very dark gray or "silver" in most genes, so I chose Petals for the primary because it minimizes the dark bits and adds a very Light-appropriate stained glass look. It still has some dark bits around the edges, which I see as symbolic of to parts of Light lore regarding imperials and the hewn city, but for the most part Petals does a good job of giving the impression of a dragon that is glowing inside. Bee and runes were chosen for their glittery effects, which emphasize the glowing look. Bee in particular enhances the stained-glass theme with the way it brightens closer to the edges of the wings, and carries a dark grey on the "wing fingers" that matches the highlight color of the metals petals primary, and evokes the supports of stained glass windows. As a bonus, runes covers up the dark gray toes from petals. I considered glimmer, which often gives a glittery look as well, but I found that on a male pealcatcher with these colors and the other genes I had chosen, runes "glittered" more. I also found that with glimmer, I missed the greyish underbelly, which reminds me a bit of a scroll. Glowing eyes would enhance the look, but only slightly, and as a very lore conscious player I felt that the dragon would actually have more scope without them; otherwise it would be too tempting to make the glowing eyes the focus of his lore. Besides, he might end up a pearlcatcher, but he hatched a nocturne, and I feel that he would find glowing eyes too attention-getting when he has a nostalgic urge to do a little sneaking.

I made him a Tundra because all that floof is the best at showing off all that bright crystal, and Stained turns the harsh white glow to a nice soft yellow tint that fits Light's aesthetic perfectly. Striation ends up looking like a warm sunrise that blends right into the darker flecks in his primary.

Petals, in particular, somewhat resembles the Lightweaver's frills, and Seraph gives the dragon an angelic feeling. Stained lightens the colors and helps tie them together, as well as making them appear a bit more like those of the Lightweaver herself, if inverted. Altogether, the genes are wonderfully decorative and give the dragon a bit of an antiquated look, like a faded illustration in an illuminated manuscript. Finally, the Fae breed possesses several frills and a lithe physique similar to the Lightweaver, and the breed's studious and magically-inclined nature make for a great scholar of times past.
