Lore
"Tyranny follows monarchy, which itself follows anarchy, which follows democracy, which follows oligarchy, which follows aristocracy, which- yeah, follows tyranny, and so on. It's an ever-lasting circle, and every time, there's someone to overthrow the evil type of rule. Do you remember what I told you about the ancient dragon gods? They were overthrown, too.""What were they?"
"Oligarchy, the rule of the few. After that, they installed a democracy in every flight, and that's where it began to go south."
"It became anarchy."
"Right-o. Then, the father of the current emperor came and united the dragons again, but as soon as he died... ever-lasting circle, like I told you. So, what's our quest?"
"We have to get the dragon gods back. But tell me, if it's ever-lasting, what did it begin with?"
"The gods created it."
"Why?"
"No one knows."
In a post-deity Flight Rising, a cruel emperor has seized power. Upon realizing, his commander-in-chiefs decide to run away and end his rule. They don't make it... but they become the sparks that light the fires of resistance.
Rules
- If a dragon dies in the coliseum, it is dead and must be exalted.
- One action per day. This depends on that day's loot from Pinkerton's Plundered Pile.
- Food: Coliseum time! Exact number of matches has to be chosen by a random number generator.
Plants: 10-20 matches
Insects: 20-30 matches
Seafood: 30-40 matches
Meat: 40-50 matches
The participating dragons are chosen randomly; dragons at Level 25 may not be chosen. The venue is the one one level lower than the strongest dragon. Healing and quitting the battle streak is allowed, fleeing is not. - Lysithea's Rule: If a dragon that's at least five levels lower than the venue faints, rather than exalting it right away, the party enters a Life Streak. The battle streak continues without quitting until the whole party either faints or survives a battle. Single faints during a Life Streak are to be ignored; the battles count towards the total. However, if the required battles are done and the streak is ongoing, it has to be completed anyway.
If the party faints, the it's a fail and the dragon in question dies.
If the whole party survives a battle, it's a success and the dragon in question survives, but will receive a grave injury. - Materials and trinkets: Nothing specific, may be skipped - this is meant to be fun, after all.
- Familiars: A new dragon joins the forces. Breed is decided by a random number.

16. Any - Apparel: Two dragons can be bred, or a gene can be changed. If this isn't possible or wouldn't make sense, apparel is treated as wildcard.
Note: Once the eggs hatch, a coin must be flipped for each one. Heads, it lives. Tails, it's dead. - Battle items: Uh-oh! It an attack is possible, it has to be done now. If it is not possible, flip a coin. Tails means nothing happens. Heads means Death Streak. (Lysithea's Rule doesn't apply here.)
- Attack: The Keeper, another dragon (lv. 25) and a Sustainer fight in the Golem Workshop and stay there until one dragon faints and dies. Only the Keeper may use healing items.
If the dead dragon is the Sustainer, the attack is won, and the other dragon retires while the Keeper stays as participant.
If it's the Keeper or the other dragon, it's lost. - Death streak: Three dragons have to be selected randomly and fight in the coliseum for 10 rounds without quitting the streak or fleeing. Healing is still allowed. The streak may be quitted when a dragon dies.
The Keeper: The dragon who owns the book of magic. The Keeper is the only dragon who may challenge the Sustainers. This position will be passed on to a dragon of the party when the Keeper dies.
Current Keeper is Lou.
The Sustainers: The empire's strongest dragons. There are three of them, plus the emperor himself. They may be attacked by the Keeper and another dragon on lv. 25 of the Keeper's choice. Then again... there's a trigger for every sustainer. They might join the Keeper's forces.
The challenge is considered lost when all dragons are dead. It may be started again with new dragons.
The challenge is considered won when all Sustainers are defeated.
