"I hope Andraste isn't caught," he mutters. "It is much safer on the ground..." But she was gone, doing something out of the corner of his eye. It took a moment for Reynaldo to catch on. What better way to hide from a foe than to change your appearance? The Skydancer chuckled to himself, and pulse of excitement added to his gnawing fears. Why, he put on costumes in the inn at home! Carefully making his way through the Bazaar, Reynaldo spotted a stall with an idling shopkeep. A familiar blue wig was drooping on the edge of the display. Reynaldo waited for the shopkeep to yawn, slightly slowing his pace toward the stall. Then, when he did, Reynaldo reached out a claw and snatched the wig from its resting place. As he walked away, the wig under Reynaldo's arm felt heavy. He glanced back again. He would pay for it later. Before he knew it, his partner had joined him. "Good, you're back," he muttered, and accepted his gifts, quickly donning the cloak, hat, and finishing features. The cloak was a bit short. It didn't quite cover the giant, glowing tattoo that now branded his arm. But the new look gave him a newfound confidence. "So what's the plan?" Reynaldo nodded as Cotriona told him the details. "Hopefully this Enzul character is more friendly than that pup," he said, "I'll see what I can find. But where will I find you?" The Pearlcatcher had vanished again. Reynaldo steeled himself, then casually explored the area, flicking his eyes back and forth across the line of shopkeeps, hoping to find one that could help him. The smell of food caught his attention, and he followed the scent to a dingy little shop. It must be a restaurant, Reynaldo thought. He felt others eyeing his tattoo and tried to pull his cloak over it unsuccessfully. "Hello, sir, happy festival," Reynaldo greeted the owner, a Pearlcatcher. "I just wanted to ask--you probably don't know--Iwaslookingforafriendofmine--do you know Enzul?" Reynaldo resisted sweeping his eyes nervously over the other patrons of the restaurant as he said the name, and put all his effort into maintaining casual eye contact with the proprietor. His stomach protested at the reply.. Reynaldo drooped a little, and his mane started to relax a bit. "I'm famished, actually." He tried to smile, but the best he could do with his jumpy nerves was cause a corner of his mouth to curl upward. "I would love to try a homecooked meal."

But she was gone, doing something out of the corner of his eye.

It took a moment for Reynaldo to catch on. What better way to hide from a foe than to change your appearance? The Skydancer chuckled to himself, and pulse of excitement added to his gnawing fears. Why, he put on costumes in the inn at home!

More dragons where looking after them, so he wasn't safe here. She told him to head straight to the Bazaar, where they would meet up after she had lead astray their trackers in the crowd. off she went, and Unknown saw that she swiftly pocketed some clothes from a nearby stall, without paying, of course. Stealing wasn't really Unknown's style, but thee again, he had questionable morals himself when it meant getting what he needed, so he decided to follow her example. When Gloomwillow and Unknown made their way through the stalls, Unknown noticed that one merchant in particular looked distracted enough, so he told to Gloomwillow to split, thus further distracting the merchant so he could grab a Seaside Kelpie Mane and hide it in his satchel. Gloomwillow flew back to Unknown a few stalls further, discreetly hiding inside one of the baubles Unknown was carrying on him, that way they wouldn't garner any more unnecessary attention. Once he found Cotriona again, she gave him some apparel pieces to wear, and seemed impressed when he pulled out the Seaside Kelpie Mane from his satchel. He got a cloak, a hat, and some miscellaneous apparel pieces. It felt nice to get something clean to wear, since after the incident that made him retch back at the store, he really hadn't had time to wash out the stains from his clothes. He also made sure to wash off his face-paint, since it made him all too recognisable. After this, Cotriona told him that he would have to find an ancient Guardian named Enzul that could help him get rid of his new cursed tattoo, alone, while she were to further lead astray the Mirror that was following them earlier. This Guardian was said to be as old as the Emporium itself, so according to his new companion, he would have to ask the oldest shopkeepers around. So off he went. He was resourceful, so it shouldn't be that much trouble, and a lot of weird-looking dragons milled about the place... so his overall unusual appearance further shouldn't have garnered that much attention, if it weren't for the fact that his tattoo glowed all too much... . He walked into a dingy restaurant, but everyone around him just glared at his tattoo that he had helplessly tried to cover earlier, so he had no choice but to appear confident, and if they were to ask, tell them that the glowing tattoo was just some physical manifestation of his Arcane powers... or something along those lines. The shabby Pearlcatcher bartender at the counter looked at him suspiciously, as did everyone else in the restaurant, but he eased up when Unknown told him that he was looking for someone. More relaxed, the Pearlcatcher told him that he was looking for someone to buy his delicious home-cooked food. The food couldn't possibly be as delicious as the Pearlcatcher said it was, not from a place like that, and he wasn't even hungry, but he knew that the Pearlcatcher wouldn't tell him anything unless he bought something, or beat him up. Threatening the owner was out of the question, that would just make him look more suspicious and get the Mirror and their friends to know his exact location ASAP, plus, it wouldn't be rude to beat someone up just for not answering a question. He eyed the menu quickly, glanced at the other customers, and chose what seemed to be the most edible thing on the menu, a candied scorpion... . The only solace would be that he could was one step closer to the information he needed, and besides, he had eaten worse before during his may years as a hermit... . Okay, here goes! Between her time back at home at the Focal Point and her long months spent as a transfer student over in the Veridian Labyrinth, the young Tundra sometimes found it all to be a blur. So she was always glad to be able to rejoin her clan for one of the festivals, if only for a short time, and on this occasion Clan Twinstar had once again returned to the Shifting Expanse to see what wonders the Lightning flight had on display this year. Splitting off from the rest of her group, Manasurge decided to see if she could pick up some souvenirs for herself and her classmates. Her wanderings soon lead her towards a strange tent off towards one end of the mysterious marketplace with a sign over its entrance labeled "Curious and Curios." Manasurge soon found herself regretting her decision to step inside, however, as she was quickly greeted by the proprietor, Eugene, who she found it impossible to tear herself away from. "Do you mind?" she finally snapped. "I don't care if this tea set was made by Harpies or not. I just want to find some pretty gifts for everyone! Now what's this over here?" She had spotted a strange piece of cloth buried underneath said tea set, the pattern on which she found to be utterly fascinating. Like staring at the stars for hours on end, except that the patterns kept shifting and twisting, and she couldn't keep them straight. So drawn to the fabric was she that she almost didn't notice she'd reached out to touch it. Manasurge recoiled in horror as the cloth seemingly sprang to life, twisting and curling up her right arm and sinking right into it. Seconds later, her mind went blank and she passed out. She awoke to see the Coatl, Eugene, staring down at her. The Tundra moved to examine herself, and saw that she now had a strange tattoo covering her arm and spreading into her chest. Strange, but it was probably nothing to worry about. Right? "Only if there's a discount," Manasurge grumbled as she struggled to her feet. "Was that supposed to happen?" ---------------------------------------------------- Before she could receive an answer, though, the Tundra was being escorted out of the store by a Skydancer and a Pearlcatcher, who were babbling on about how she had somehow been compatible with the fabric she'd just touched. Manasurge's mind was still spinning, so she wasn't quite certain what they meant by that. The next thing she knew, though, the three of them had broken into a run, dashing through the crowds of dragons that filled the marketplace. "Slow down! Slow down!" Manasurge yelled. "I can't keep up! Augh!" She was still weakened by her recent experience, and it seemed like she was bumping into everyone she passed by. Certainly, she was in no condition to fly right now. As such, when her two would-be abductors/rescuers split up, she made her way after the Pearlcatcher, Cotriona. Hopefully she'd be able to get some answers out of her once they'd made it to safety. ---------------------- Fortunately, the path Cotriona had chosen was less crowded, and with her smaller size Manasurge was able to slip though the widening gaps and catch up with the Pearlcatcher. "You're right," Manasurge said. "I'm in no condition to fly right now. I'll... see you soon, I guess?" This had not been part of her plans for this vacation at all, but now that she was hopelessly wrapped up in whatever these dragons wanted, the Tundra felt that she had little choice but to play along for now. Where was the rest of her clan when she needed them? Eventually, she met up with Cotriona again at a stall selling wigs and other apparel. Manasurge didn't know how much a disguise would help- her bright pink and cyan colors would stand out anywhere. Still, she put on the disguise when it was offered. As silly as she felt while wearing it, she felt that maybe going about as someone else could be fun, at least for a little while. Having received instructions to seek out a Guardian named Enzul, Manasurge set out on her search. She regularly found herself glancing over her shoulder, hoping that Eugene wasn't still following her. She hadn't seen the Coatl since they'd escaped from his shop, but she had a feeling he wasn't far off. Still feeling somewhat winded, Manasurge decided to slip inside a nearby restaurant, her newfound mane picking up dust and dirt as it dragged along the floor. She wandered up to the counter, setting herself down at one end as the owner came up to her. "I'm looking for a Guardian named Enzul," she asked. "Maybe you know of him?" If he did, it wasn't immediately clear. But what was clear was that when the Pearlcatcher offered to serve up some of his home-cooked food, Manasurge's stomach answered that question before she could. She was starving. Besides, hanging out in here she might hear something that would lead her to Enzul, if not from the proprietor then from someone else. Still, she did wonder what sort of vegetarian dishes they had on offer out here in the Expanse... ------------ I think that's got me all caught up until now! I just need to fill out the correct form to continue, right?

So she was always glad to be able to rejoin her clan for one of the festivals, if only for a short time, and on this occasion Clan Twinstar had once again returned to the Shifting Expanse to see what wonders the Lightning flight had on display this year.

She didn't think about the color long enough to let it bother her. There was some kind of bee that made blue honey right? Coral carpets or something? She didn't really care. Error grabbed the mug and downed the drink, maybe a little more quickly than was necessary. Hopefully it wouldn't poison her or do anything to make this day possibly get worse.

They wouldn't be too happy with how he was spending money, but hey he did need to eat.

((Normally I’d be reluctant to pick the same option most other players are in order to shake things up, but alas, I have difficulty seeing Sprocket refusing the poor fellow)) [item=coppercoil creeper] Now Cotriona was calling that mirror a puppy, too. Perhaps it was a kind of local slang? Certainly Sprocket didn’t see much resemblance between that mirror and a puppy. The pearlcatcher had yet to give much more information, but they were in a bit of a hurry to lose anyone following them, so Sprocket decided to play along for now. At least Cotriona was putting some trust in her own skills. She may be a pure-blooded fae lacking in any vocal range, but she couldn’t make a living off of odd jobs and repairs if she wasn’t personable. She knew her way around a conversation, how to thread out bits and pieces of information from a potential client. The mane and cloak sat uncomfortably on her back when she entered the restaurant. It was bulky apparel, the impractical sort that got in the way way and which she would never have picked for herself. It would come off the moment she thought she was safe enough to avoid detection on her own, but for now she supposed her usual unwillingness to wear anything like it was what made it such a good disguise. The fae hadn’t planned on paying for food while she was here, but she wasn’t exactly lacking in funds, particularly where poor shopkeepers from her homeland were concerned. Sometimes getting the right response from a dragon required some verbal games, a dash of charisma, a little meandering. A restaurant did not come and go the same way a cart could- the owner would have to settle in and make himself some manner of kitchen and sitting space. If she left there was no guarantee she’d find someone else as likely to be an old denizen, and in the time she spent looking and asking around would leave more and more clues as to her presence. “I reckon I do.” Sprocket replied with her best imitation of a friendly, easygoing smile. She reached the hand not encased in a new tattoo underneath her cloak to find one of the pockets she hid her treasure in. “Get me something fae-sized, yes?”
((Normally I’d be reluctant to pick the same option most other players are in order to shake things up, but alas, I have difficulty seeing Sprocket refusing the poor fellow))

Now Cotriona was calling that mirror a puppy, too.

Feeling a bit self-conscious, she glanced back at Hyperion, who suspiciously looked to be having a hard time trying not to stare at her 'new look'. Huffing at her companion, she turned and strode into the nearest restaurant; after all, when she thought about it, having such a wig was more attraction bringing than not, which isn't quite what she's going for. Feeling especially uncomfortable, as her tattoo was clearly visible by her sleeves which were rolled up to her elbow, she shifted in place till the Pearlcatcher manning the front turned his attention to her. She cleared her throat, again feeling a bit over her head, and just simply told him she was searching for someone. When he brightened and told her a trade in exchange for her buying something, she glanced at the selections, and instantly realized... she was actually quite hungry, seeing as the last time she ate was sometime early this morning.
