Dragon Name: Manasurge
Dragon Picture:
Manasurge rarely got a chance to pull herself away from her studies. Between her time back at home at the Focal Point and her long months spent as a transfer student over in the Veridian Labyrinth, the young Tundra sometimes found it all to be a blur. So she was always glad to be able to rejoin her clan for one of the festivals, if only for a short time, and on this occasion Clan Twinstar had once again returned to the Shifting Expanse to see what wonders the Lightning flight had on display this year.
Splitting off from the rest of her group, Manasurge decided to see if she could pick up some souvenirs for herself and her classmates. Her wanderings soon lead her towards a strange tent off towards one end of the mysterious marketplace with a sign over its entrance labeled "Curious and Curios."
Manasurge soon found herself regretting her decision to step inside, however, as she was quickly greeted by the proprietor, Eugene, who she found it impossible to tear herself away from.
"Do you mind?" she finally snapped. "I don't care if this tea set was made by Harpies or not. I just want to find some pretty gifts for everyone! Now what's this over here?"
She had spotted a strange piece of cloth buried underneath said tea set, the pattern on which she found to be utterly fascinating. Like staring at the stars for hours on end, except that the patterns kept shifting and twisting, and she couldn't keep them straight. So drawn to the fabric was she that she almost didn't notice she'd reached out to touch it.
Manasurge recoiled in horror as the cloth seemingly sprang to life, twisting and curling up her right arm and sinking right into it. Seconds later, her mind went blank and she passed out.
She awoke to see the Coatl, Eugene, staring down at her. The Tundra moved to examine herself, and saw that she now had a strange tattoo covering her arm and spreading into her chest. Strange, but it was probably nothing to worry about. Right?
"Only if there's a discount," Manasurge grumbled as she struggled to her feet. "Was that supposed to happen?"
Before she could receive an answer, though, the Tundra was being escorted out of the store by a Skydancer and a Pearlcatcher, who were babbling on about how she had somehow been compatible with the fabric she'd just touched. Manasurge's mind was still spinning, so she wasn't quite certain what they meant by that.
The next thing she knew, though, the three of them had broken into a run, dashing through the crowds of dragons that filled the marketplace. "Slow down! Slow down!" Manasurge yelled. "I can't keep up! Augh!" She was still weakened by her recent experience, and it seemed like she was bumping into everyone she passed by. Certainly, she was in no condition to fly right now.
As such, when her two would-be abductors/rescuers split up, she made her way after the Pearlcatcher, Cotriona. Hopefully she'd be able to get some answers out of her once they'd made it to safety.
Fortunately, the path Cotriona had chosen was less crowded, and with her smaller size Manasurge was able to slip though the widening gaps and catch up with the Pearlcatcher.
"You're right," Manasurge said. "I'm in no condition to fly right now. I'll... see you soon, I guess?" This had not been part of her plans for this vacation at all, but now that she was hopelessly wrapped up in whatever these dragons wanted, the Tundra felt that she had little choice but to play along for now. Where was the rest of her clan when she needed them?
Eventually, she met up with Cotriona again at a stall selling wigs and other apparel. Manasurge didn't know how much a disguise would help- her bright pink and cyan colors would stand out anywhere. Still, she put on the disguise when it was offered. As silly as she felt while wearing it, she felt that maybe going about as someone else could be fun, at least for a little while.
Having received instructions to seek out a Guardian named Enzul, Manasurge set out on her search. She regularly found herself glancing over her shoulder, hoping that Eugene wasn't still following her. She hadn't seen the Coatl since they'd escaped from his shop, but she had a feeling he wasn't far off.
Still feeling somewhat winded, Manasurge decided to slip inside a nearby restaurant, her newfound mane picking up dust and dirt as it dragged along the floor. She wandered up to the counter, setting herself down at one end as the owner came up to her.
"I'm looking for a Guardian named Enzul," she asked. "Maybe you know of him?"
If he did, it wasn't immediately clear. But what was clear was that when the Pearlcatcher offered to serve up some of his home-cooked food, Manasurge's stomach answered that question before she could. She was starving. Besides, hanging out in here she might hear something that would lead her to Enzul, if not from the proprietor then from someone else. Still, she did wonder what sort of vegetarian dishes they had on offer out here in the Expanse...
I think that's got me all caught up until now! I just need to fill out the correct form to continue, right?
