@Lundlaeva sorry, I think I forgot to fill in day four's form. I did it now though. It's the best thing she's got right now, though, and with that thing prowling around, there was no way she was wandering on her own. Although, there WAS that circle of bears by the meteor... The trees suddenly give way to a clearing, and a destroyed settlement. Judging by the feathers and architecture, this was a Talonok village. Abeona doesn't feel distraught by the unknown fate of the residents, but more the overwhelming power if whatever

The first Scholar Mew had spotted slipped around the corner and seemingly disappeared into some impossible physics of the interior's dimensions. This left the Coatl to halt for a few moments and blink in amusement. “The next one then!
Merrilyn packed up her things and lingered, looking down all the directions she thought someone might approach the front desk in case a librarian had gone out for a lunch break. She didn’t see anything that suggested the desk would be attended any time soon and fluttered after her two companions.
Sure enough, a helpful Scholar was found. Once they had found what they sought, the two dragons thanked him for the assistance and set to their research.

Right. Looks like it’s time for us to go help.” Mew clapped the book he had been looking at (the written word was something his family and neighbours had shared) shut and returned it to the shelf.
Huh? I thought we were going to tell someone, the wardens maybe, what we’d learnt next?
We can do that too if we’re asked to, but, we’re pretty much some of the most well-informed dragons on what’s going on.
Well, I guess that some other travellers might run into trouble otherwise, and..” Merrilyn silently gulped, “…if the wardens are still dealing with it when it’s time to head home, everyone has to worry about it.
Mew nodded and put on a brave smile. “Exactly. Melreyna would want us to do what we could to help.
So…” Lode snorted during the prolonged moment of awkwardness, “…are we going to look for it?
Umm…” Mew’s drive to act dropped.
Maybe…you can try befriend it, Mew?” The Nocturne tentatively suggested. “Lots of folks like you, and you seem to get along with them pretty easily…language barrier or not.
The Coatl scrunched up his face and closed his eyes. Merrilyn did make a fair point that any attempt like that would require communication without a shared language. “I was thinking we could help it with its comet first?
I wouldn’t try fixing a dragonmade ship without someone who knew about them telling me what to do. Are you sure you want to try fix something even stranger?
It’s pretty easy to see, so the wardens are probably already there and can help. I’m less sure about how easy it will be to find the pilot.
Someone has to find them and lead them back to their ship sometime.” Merrilyn stepped near Mew and smiled reassuringly.

Mew let out a breath. “I guess it’s that it did a really good job of making it clear it wanted to be left alone before. It’s…scary.” He met Merrilyn’s eyes, “but you’re right. If we want to make sure no one gets hurt, we need to try calm the visitor and get them to return to their ship.
Maybe they’ll be less scary now we know they’re frightened too.
Let’s believe that. But so you’re less surprised when we have a proper meeting, they are really big. Bigger-than-an-Imperial big.” The Nocturne felt her body temperature drop and the Coatl gave her a hug. “We’ll both be there and we can bring them presents. Presents help make a good first impression.

Mew picked up the one book that had yet to be put away, “maybe we can borrow this book to show them. Lode gave a rumble, and the Coatl turned to replace the book on the shelf. “Okay then.
Lode rose to their feet and padded to the duo. “What might be a good present then?” Merrilyn asked.
We can see if anyone has spare spaceship parts.
Maybe we can pick up some treats at the festival before leaving.
Good idea!

After an encounter with one visibly paranoid individual, they found someone willing to listen to their request.
“Someone crashed their spaceship and we’re looking for presents to help them relax.” Merrilyn relayed in common draconian.
“I can imagine a crash would be a stressful experience!” the Observatory denizen shook her head in amusement at the request. “I don’t know if I have anything that will help, but I can bring you some carryable bits and pieces.”

He watched Palmer gear up for the coming meeting with the extraterrestrial, listening all the while to the Ridgeback explain more about them. The feathers around his face stood up on end the more he learned; there was nothing at all attractive about these things, it seemed. Leander shifted his weight from one claw to the other uneasily, not entirely certain what he had volunteered himself for at this point. Palmer's wing was heavy, nearly knocking Leander clean off his feet. He caught himself, and put forth his best effort to shrug the Ridgeback off of him. It didn't work one inch, and he was certain that Palmer had even noticed his effort. "Civic-minded, yes. It sounds like these creatures are a threat to all dragonkind, especially if they get whatever it is they are after from the Observatory," Leander pointed out. Dutifully, he followed Cherrypop and Palmer out of the underbelly of the Wardens' tunnels and to the platform that overlooked the Focal Point. The crowds below were a good reminder to him that not all of Arcane seemed as prepared as these two to handle something like the Comet Riders. Those dragonkin below were the reason he was here right now, after all. He leapt from the platform, catching a thermal and soaring his way up well above the Focal Point. At a greater height, it would be easier to spot the place where the crater was, especially if it was still glowing. The strange, bright pink light still pulsed in the distance. It would be quite easy to track the creature from the meteor directly, but he was almost positive he remembered which way it was heading. "The meteor itself is there," he pointed with one claw, "But the creature was moving away from it when I fled the area. As large as it was, we should be able to track it from the air," he guessed. It seemed significantly more important to find the creature and not the meteor, so he was willing to take the risk at this point in the evening. There was no telling what the thing could have gotten up to by now.

DAY FIVE

"Well, no, it's not something that has ever landed in the Ashfall Wastes that I know of," the Skydancer explained his ignorance of the strange creatures called Comet Riders.

He was honestly surprised that he wasn't as afraid of bear anymore, though considering that it has helped him so many times, he felt that he could trust it. His thoughts moved towards the more important task at hand: the details of the book and the truth about the creature. 'The Comet Rider,'His mind supplied. He supposed it was a surprisingly elegant name for such a unique creature. Though, despite the major scare it gave him and the danger it expresses, Kirik felt pity for the Rider. To be stranded in an unknown land with strange beings treating it with fear and aggression, it had a right to be frightened. Shadowbinder knows that Kirik would be terrified if the same happened to him. Then again, he could say that it already has with how crazy his supposedly small trip has become. Perhaps he could reason with the creature. After all, while the book said it was almost impossible to befriend it, it was still possible. However that involved finding the creature, which had the magician at a small dilemma. If he went to find the creature, there was a possibility that he could find it, but that might also end up with him getting lost and at the forest's mercy, even with the Starbear as a guide. Returning to the meteor also had it's dangers: if he got to close to meteor, the comet rider might get defensive and attack. The meteor was the only thing it had left, after all. After a long battle with his thoughts, Kirik made his decision. He changed his course towards the familiar pink light that he knew would lead him to the meteor, and possibly the creature.
