Baldr listened with interest as Winterfang explained how the Pocket Bags worked, from the way the bangs dealt with being over-stuffed to the fact that it was impossible to completely climb inside one of them. The Spiral went over to a small rack of bags and selected a Pocket Bag, which was designed like a satchel, and opened it to show the group.
The moment the bag opened, a huge amount of glitter exploded out, spraying everyone who had followed Winterfang in another generous coating of glitter!
"Eh ... hehe I guess this one was overstuffed ... But as you can see within, there's a lot of glitter inside in piles just waiting to be dumped into the Vault," Winterfang said, though Baldr was somewhat distracted spluttering glitter. At least he had seen the anti-over-stuffing mechanism first-hand!
However, he was frustrated to discover that that was all they would be learning about the bags, because after a brief exchange with Dawn about the sanitation of the unpurified glitter that had been dumped over the tour members, Winterfang replaced the bag and the two tour guides began to lead the way out. Disappointed that he hadn't manged to really find out anything, Baldr followed, trying his best to brush the worst of the glitter out of his mane and off his face, at least.
The tour members covered in glitter - Baldr included - were directed through the neutralising barrier again and then they went onwards: walking along wide catwalks with metal fencing to ensure that everyone stayed on the designated route, and didn't fall or fly over the edge. On the other side of the fencing, there was glitter falling through brightly coloured energy barriers, changing colour as it passed through. Dawn explained that this area was for glitter recolouration, and that the energy fields
burn the colour into the glitter. Baldr looked at the two Glittervault tour guides skeptically: that hardly sounded safe.
Then Winterfang suggested a shortcut, taking a very fast slide down to the Glittervault itself. He commented that though it was not for the faint-heared, it was better than walking - and avoided potentially getting covered in red glitter.
Baldr normally prided himself on his courage, but on this occasion he shied away from Winterfang and his offer - despite the warning about red glitter on the catwalks, he just didn't trust the Spiral not to have planned something that would involve a thorough glittering the moment they entered the Vault via the slide. He edged closer to Dawn,
following her along the catwalks.
