Baldr enjoyed walking along the catwalks behind Dawn, gazing around at the falling glitter and finding patterns in the flakes. Occasionally he twitched his wings or blew at his shoulders to brush off the red glitter that drifted across the path and landed on him. Unlike the more heavy coatings he had received earlier, these flakes moved along easily and carried on their downwards journey.
At the end of the lengthy walk, they rejoined the rest of the tour - finding them in a heap amidst an enormous pile of glitter! As the dragons picked themselves up and untangled themselves from each other and the glitter, Dawn commented:
"I hope you had fun taking that slide. I suppose Winterfang forgot to mention that pile of glitter at the bottom of the glitter deposit slide."
"Maaaaaybe?" the Spiral replied.
Baldr raised an eyebrow. For all Winterfang was a Light dragon, he had the makings of a truly Shadow trickster - and he was sure that there were members of his own Clan, not least Loki, who would love to learn from his antics. He would have to be careful not to give those dragons any ideas when he told the tale of his visit when he got back home!
Once the whole group was ready, Dawn and Winterfang led the way over to a large and imposing pair of golden doors decorated with beautiful images of the Lightweaver in flight, raining down glitter. To one side was a metal plate, which Dawn approached, and in front of the door a large, golden half-circle.
As the two guides talked of the defences protecting the vault and the sheer scale of the place, Baldr felt a rush of excitement. This was what he had come for, and now he was standing at the very doors of the Glittervault, about to see inside! Unable to hold back his grin, he hurried forward to
join Dawn within the half-circle.
