It took Desideria a bit of an effort to calm himself enough to go to sleep. He knew that he'd made himself a target by revealing his role. There hadn't been any trouble last night, but how much longer could the killers afford to let him live?
[i]My fellow innocents will protect me,[/i] he thought. But he still had trouble getting to sleep, and woke instantly at the sound of footsteps in the sand outside the glass vial he'd chosen as a shelter.
"Hello?" he called, creeping to the lip of the vial.
"You should've kept your mouth shut!" a voice snarled, and then magic and claws struck Desideria at once. He was dead almost before he'd registered the words.

Alleyne had been quiet over the last few days. He didn't have much to add; the investigation seemed to be proceeding well under the auspices of Bill, Maurelle and the others. Besides, he had not come prepared to see death, let alone violent death, and it had taken himself some time to steel himself to join the investigation.
He had done it at last, though, and he went to sleep that night feeling a bit better about the future now that he'd taken action.
He chose to sleep out in the open, since shelter hadn't helped any of the previous victims. This way, he figured, he would reman under Xylia's eye. That should deter any attackers, shouldn't it?
It didn't, but then, by the time Alleyne knew he was under attack, his throat had already been cut. He was dead by the time he hit the ground. His killer smiled, wiped their claws, and walked away.

"Two dead," Geras said. "And one of them was our intrepid reporter."

"That may have been sarcasm," Geras noted dryly. "No, Kelsus, it's all right. Xylia, did you see anything?"
Her tone on the last question was almost despairing.

"I did," Xylia said. "I saw some movement, but ... it was dark and confusing."
Her head bobbed. "I know! I'll work it out visually. That is my specialty after all."
She trotted out of the room, calling over her shoulder, "I'll be painting. I should have something in a few hours."

He still had no connection with his sister, and even worse, he awoke to two dead dragons, one a rather large Guardian right before his very eyes. He ruffled his feathers, head drawn back as his feathered crest flared. Were these killers making a statement or something?! He got to his feet, wondering if the Gold Fae was awake yet. [b]Deciding it was up to him, he moved to the Guardian, hoping to find some clues on his death.[/b]

Seeing the Coatl move over to the dead Guardian, Gili moved to inspect the Fae, Desideria. There was an air of reluctance as she stared down at the body, and she swallowed convulsively. This was... awful. She had never been the ones to look at the bodies, only examining the evidence left over. And that had already been a messy business, since most of what they found was soaked in gore in some way or another.

The days were starting to blur together to Bill, wake up to death and fall asleep to more of it. There wasn't any way to escape it. He noticed dragons already moving towards the dead, he decided to let them take the lead for the time being, opting to ponder why he was still alive. He was the main source of information, yet the killers had yet to attack him. Are they trying to make it seem like he is mafia, since he surely should be the number one target! He started to think back to Bluejay's death, didn't the dead Fae something along the lines of a stalker and that they'd die without their stalkee? Maybe he had a stalker after him? Well it was understandable to have such a follower, a dashing [s]demon[/s] dragon like himself.
He looked over to the current investigation and started to jot down notes.

Having a horrible temper and being stuck in a life-pr-death situation (plus being smaller than some of the smallest toys his mother had given him when he was little) hadn't done very good for him.
