Not all members of the family hold high positions, nor are they expected to do so, since the clan has grown and acquired enough members and workers to the point that it more or less sort of runs itself. While the grandchildren have scattered all over Sornieth, the progenitors and all their children still remain in the Sunbeam Ruins. What follows is a list and description of the progens, plus the descendants who are still in my clan. But many of them shudder when they see Iadys' own artificial body, and instead, they turn away.[/i] In the days when Iadys still had her body, she sought out the Ravenghast. Through reality, through dreams...There were many times when she thought to turn back, but her dead lover's image intruded into her mind, and she knew there was nothing worth returning to. Not yet... She could only go forward. And when she awoke with the feather one day, she knew her journey was almost over. She called across the worlds to the Ravenghast. The world began to melt away, and she was stunned at how easy it all was. Soon she would be able to pierce that veil, too. The sign of a heavy wish--a powerful burden. Souls that have found themselves trapped in this realm suddenly all howled to life and made themselves known--They protested. Fiercely, vehemently, they spat their bitterness to the winds in a display that railed against the grace of old gods. The room reeked of hatred. A hatred so thick that it permeated itself as a spotted black mist--still somewhat between this world and the next. Because they dared not touch the Ravenghast, they turned their cowardly attentions unto Iadys instead. It was a sort of desperate, filthy clawing as they tried to spirit her away before her wish was bound. Ah, but--the [i]Ravenghast will [b]always[/b] fulfill its pact[/i]. Was that not how the saying goes? From the moment they touched but a single thread of her mane, a powerful wave emitted from around Iadys herself. Outward and around from the flickering circle beneath her. It swirled round and round like a vortex of ill intent, cleaving the miserable apparitions some many times and filled the air with screams of their anguish and bitter regrets. They lasted just long enough to see the ravenbourne magic flow into Iadys--a nightmare among nightmares. Pray that she does not look their way, for now she could bind them to fates worse than death. It was no small mercy for them be extinguished now by the raven thing, but... it would be far too late for those who came after. There are distortions in these magicks...
