In the Southwestern corner of Dragonhome's Shattered Plain, lair matriarch Kaplan settled her brood. Though a clanless orphan, she takes great pride in her Plague heritage and selected an Earth region near the Abiding Boneyard as something of an homage to her bright red eyes, while still managing to honor her mate, Kepler's, request to remain near the Sacred Pillar. Together they established a community of other parentless dragons committed to research, study, and experimentation for the sake of all dragonkind's betterment. Their territory spreads wide, perhaps because the barren expanse does not suit many of their fellows, touching both the sea and stunted mountains to the east. Their tents and dwellings reside near the laboratory and egg nests, close to a small freshwater lake dug from a convenient spring. Farther north, in the chalky broken desert, their training pit serves as a practice arena for the more advanced Coliseum warriors.

Near the eastern border of the Ashfall Waste, a deep crater homes the clan of Granith's Charge. The steeps of igneous rock and magma form a protective wall around a dragonled hospital, one that welcomes both kin and beasts alike. In fact, the hospital is flanked on either side by allied beastclans: to the west, the Harpy refugees, and to the east, the Flamescale Serthis. The lavafall to the south pools near the nesting grounds and clan's base, providing a warm embrace for the Flameborn hatchlings. Though Granith's Charge was established to be a place of healing and safety, the heart of the territory bears the scars of a warzone in a battle of Dragons and Harpies long past. In an otherwise desolate and uninviting land, this clan in the heart of the Molten Scar is known for offering protection and forgiveness to all who seek redemption. It also serves as a cafeteria and hospital for the nearby shopkeepers. Far to the west is a small port, frequented only by an old, volatile sea captain and his skeletal ship. The territory is patrolled by ferocious warriors twisting through the landscape like runes on a page. Some of these guards only wish is to protect their enclave, but some with more sinister desires seek to have unwitting dragons join their brethren, be it through honey or vinegar.
