@GhostScream half man(elf)-half spider would be a drider. A drow would be a dark elf. Drow can become drider, either as a blessing from Lolth or as punishment (depending on which view you take)
But yes driders would be nice

I may not respond due to real life duties, but I'm willing to breed any of my breeding pairs on request, pm me and we can negotiate the details.
If we don't have one already, a Jackalope familiar could be cool. Bunnies with antlers, awesome. Also maybe a gryphon cub.

Apparently tigers have been suggested a lot, but I thought I'd add to this what I posted in a topic! (I didn't spot this thread, whoops.)
Tigers are pretty cool. And they'd match dragons with tiger/stripes beautifully. There would be some twist on them, of course, and for that I'd suggest a twist to do with light or dark- preferably light. This is because in real life, tigers are reliant on light and the way it falls- ie the shadows it casts- to keep them camouflaged. So I'm not really sure exactly what these familiars could have to do with light, but I'm sure someone could think of something! :)
Also, it could have multiple variations, like a lot of the familiars do (the dunhoofs, the Serthis pair, etc.) There's the obvious orange and white tigers, but then there are others like the rare golden tiger (aka orange tabby tiger; think an orange tabby cat- the stripes are darker but not quite black) and albino (white, no stripes).
I personally am a huge fan of tigers, including the FR gene.

Puppets, mechanical or stringed. Possibly of those legendary creatures, humans.
Someone mentioned guinea pigs, that would be adorable; ones with the long hair that flops over one eye like Jessica Rabbit.
