Xotal gave a loud snort at Furi. Might not be quite as old as the triplets, but he did agree now with Earth. A glance was cast about the area a few moments.

"Earth is right. We might still be in the borders, but we've wandered too far."

Earth, at the scolding, whimpered and huddled next to Rose. She didn't answer and her gaze remained locked upon the ground, saddened.

Furi snorted and said, "Then go back then! I'm going to have fun!" She turned away and ran off, towards the border of the clan's territory. She didn't get far though. A growl stopped the spirited young guardian in her tracks. In the bush ahead was a phytocat (if i spelled that right) and it enjoyed the prospect of such plentiful prey. Crying out in terror, Furi backpedaled and ran the other way.

Rose was confused. "What is that thing? Why is Furi scared of it?"

Barzanth and Suri had started running as well.

"Run!!" Earth stated, ramming her skull into Rose.

She wasn't about to leave her newest companion behind. She kept on pushing and shoving, crying out. They weren't too far, were they? They hadn't gone out of hearing range of the clan, had they?

"Get your rumps moving!" Xotal hissed, having put himself between the two younger females and the feline.

He made himself look larger than what he really was, but still, it'd be no match for the creature. Might make it hesitate, if only for a moment. But a moment was all that was needed for Rose and Earth to flee.

Rose scrambled, needing little urging after Earth's initial proclamation.

The phytocat was a bit overwhelmed with so many different targets to go after, which gave them the moment they needed to get enough of a head start.

Back at the nesting site, the triplets' father, Tamarand, lifted his head, saying to his mate, "Did you hear something?"
Khol, the mother, had been napping and grumbled, "No, I didn't hear anything."

Xotal gave a louder hiss, even dared to sweep his paw at the phytocat. Why? He was simply buying them all time. Fangs were bared, plated lips having pulled up and over them to make himself seem a threat. Wings flared out a bit, the soil colored membrane seeming darker in the dim lighting. Brown eyes glared at the creature, just waiting for a chance to strike.

Earth had glanced back a moment, watching Xotal and the feline-like creature. She returned her gaze to Rose, pounding along after her.

"We gotta find the others and get back to the nesting grounds," she panted.

Where were those triplets at?

Alura had her head raised high, fins fanned out as she listened. Eyes glanced upward a moment, watching the flying creatures head all in one direction. Her gaze turned onto the triplets a moment, a low growl rumbling in her chest.

"Up with you two! We must find the children."

She'd heard Tamarand's concern, and knew he was well to be worried at the moment.

(I'm a tad confused, did the triplets already make it back?)

Tamarand was at full attention now and did not hesitate to follow the matriarch. Khol was a bit slow to start, having difficultly coming out of the dragon lethargy, but she quickly became alert, and angry. The triplets were her very first clutch, they were her babies, and she would not tolerate any harm coming to her babies.

The phytocat hissed in agitation, but did not back down. It began circling. fully twice as large at Xotal, it shouldn't of had any problem taking him down, but the little mirror's display had confused it and it was taking extra precaution.

Rose, right next to Earth as they ran, called out at the top of her voice, "Mooooommaaa!"

(Dunno. I never said. Left that up to you. Earth is more concerned with trying to find them before they get back though, if that helps clear things up.)

Alura had heard the call out, gave a call back in reply. Those children would be learning a lesson if one of them came back harmed. Or well, they were learning it right now. She glanced back at her brood, her eldest children watching over the eggs about the nesting grounds now. It was best to be alert when something was about. One never knew the dangers of the glades they lived in.

Xotal watched the creature closely, hissing and spitting at it. From time to time, when he'd get the chance, he'd slowly back up towards the way he knew home was. Still, he kept himself all puffed up, larger than what he normally was. He knew well he was taking a risk here. A big one, too. One swipe of that paw against his still hardening scales and he was screwed.

"Mama!" Earth called out as well.

All the while, she looked about, still trying to figure out where the triplets had gone. In that mad scramble, she hadn't seen what direction they'd gone off in.

The triplets, despite all of their squabbling, stuck close together. Furi in the lead, as usual, with Suri in the middle and Barzanth behind, constantly looking over his shoulder. When he realized they had lost the others, he skidded to a halt and said, "Wait! Where are Earth, Xotal and Rose?"
Furi stopped as well, worry on her face. She knew this was mostly her fault, they never should have been so far from the nesting grounds. Clenching her teeth in anger at herself, she said, "C'mon, we need to find them."

Tamarand looked about frantically, unable to discern where the children's cries were coming from. "Barzanth!" He called. "Furi! Suri!"
Khol was beginning to become extremely worried as well and nearly knocked over a tree in her desperation to find them. "Children! Where are you?!"

(Rose will stay with Earth, up to you if the adults find them, I'm planning on the triplets finding Xotal and helping him with the phytocat)

(Alrighty. Sounds like a plan to me.)

Shaking horribly from fright, Earth soon prodded Rose into a hiding space. A small whimper had come from her.

"Mama..." she cooed, softly. "W-we'll stay here. They'll find us."

Alura listened intently. This was not her first brood, nor was it her last. Her gaze turned back to the duo behind her.

"Calm yourselves, Tamar, Khol. We will find them. Come. This way."

What was she doing? Following the scent trail that had led the children away from them.
