Malaya knew she had to do something. Assassins on the loose? Ones who managed to kill a queen? They had to be stopped. The Skywing spiraled down for a smooth landing, which was immediately foiled when she somehow managed to get sand up her nose. After a mild sneezing fit, Malaya reoriented herself. The Sandwing stronghold was intimidating, to say the least. I wonder who was brave enough to sneak in and kill Queen Sekhemet.

Taking a breath, and suddenly feeling nervous, Malaya approached two nearby Sandwings. At least one was definitely a guard (not sure how obvious it would be that Anubis is a prince ^^’). “Um, hello. I, uh, am here to offer my services.” The last part ended up sounding more like a question than she had intended, but the Skywing tried to look confident, hoping nothing would go wrong.

(Dear lord i come back to 17 notifications on this after a couple of busy days XDDD)

Sunset glanced at the Skywing. "Time to be strong again. As always." She thought. She put on a smooth look and smiled in a neutral way. "Thank you for your offer, its very much appreciated, however, the danger level is one that i dont know if we should involve others in. Any efforts to stop this killer might result in the attemptors' lives." Sunset knew she sounded harsh but she tried not to. "We shouldnt drag anybody else in our mess unless they absolutely want to be in it." She thought.

(Bigger post to try to manoeuvre characters closer))

As slow as she tried to eat, the lizards didn’t last long. Still, it gave her time to gather her thoughts.

“Where would Fissure be? What was he like?” Pleco asked, having never actually met the dragon. Her adoption had been much more of Coal randomly saving her skin, and continuing to do so, rather than actual parents taking her under their wing. She had never met either of the hybrid’s parents.

Coal looked thoughtful, running through the memories of his father. Well, there was a reason Coal ended up in the Scorpion Den - Fissure was not what you would call a shining citizen. Something clicked and Coal grinned, “I’ve got an idea, but you’re not going to like it.”

“Oh no.” The mudwing stated blandly, recognising the mischievous look.

“He would most likely be in trouble. So… I’m going to get into trouble and try to find him.” It was like Coal had been blessed with brawn and brain (which he hadn’t been, at least not much, but the idea was probably the best either of them had in a while) and it guided him to do what he did best. Beat other dragons up. “Just follow me, Plec’. Try not to get into trouble with me, I’ll probably need someone to bail me out.”

Pleco sighed as her brother got up, doubting the choices it took to get here. She didn’t think it would be a good idea to commit a crime so soon after the death of the Queen. Coal, however, thought it was a great idea, seeing as his crime would be devastatingly trivial in comparison. Freak outs happened quite a bit whenever there was a power vacuum and many crimes weren’t treated properly, despite the increase of the policing body. It wasn’t odd for sentences to be cut short, and the criminal was back to crime. Coal had been taught well, just not in a way declared acceptable.

They didn’t have to go far before Coal was bickering with a rather aggressive guard. Then getting wacked in the face with a wing. Pleco sat quietly by as Coal proceeded to knock the guard over with a sneering laugh, sighing as any remnants of respect for the dead vanished. She would never understand why he was like this. Then she heard a horrible comment on his hybridisation before it got cut off by a squawk. Ok, yeah, there was a little understanding, just not much.

It took a while before Coal was finally apprehended, a hesitancy to the responding guards upon seeing Coal’s claws shoving the first guard’s head into the sand. The hesitancy was understandable considering Coal was not un-inclined to try to fight them, almost succeeding if not for a lucky hit that caused him to trip.

“Hey, I didn’t start it.”

Coal’s reasoning fell on deaf ears, clearly having had too much fun if the wild grin on his face said anything. Pleco shaked her head, walking up to one of the near guards and asking in a small voice, “Can I come along? That’s my brother, I’m sorry he got in the way. We’re not from around here.”

She was glanced at warily before the guard gave in with a soft nod. Then she was following as her brother got escorted to the stronghold, likely to be put in a cell before anything else. Still, she looked around as they walked, taking in the architecture with some level of awe. The feeling was rather muted thanks to the situation(s) at hand. She saw a few dragons as they walked, feeling all too awkward seeing that none of them had escorts and here she was, meekly following her idiot brother. At least he seemed to calm now, a look behind his eyes that could be recognised as growing apathy. He never did well with other dragon’s grief.

(...That was bigger than I meant it to be. Kept anyone’s names out so it’s open to anyone who wants to interact or not. Either way, closer to everyone else now))

((Its been so quiet… Lol I guess everyone was busy ;p))

Malaya tensed at the harsh tone the Sandwing used. She quickly tried to hide the reaction, acting like she had just been stretching her wings. Very smooth Malaya, she thought (somewhat sarcastically), hoping she didn’t look stupid to the guard. Drawing herself up, she replied, a bit more intensely than she meant to: “I know what is at stake. For all we know, these assassins could come after other Queens! I want to help in any way I can.”
The Skywing’s tail twitched slightly, betraying her anxiety to anyone who noticed. Please don’t turn me away, she thought, I need to do this! “Plus, it’s not just the Queens at stake. Other dragons could get hurt too,” she finished, giving a small shrug of her shoulders, awaiting the Sandwing’s response.

Sunset bit her tongue. She knew the Skywing was right. "Very well then, I'm Sunset." She said with a faint nod. "Also mysterious animus that you'll never ever hear about if i can help it who's slowly wondering if hiding her powers is worth her time heh...." She thought weakly. Sunset put on a calm smile, hiding all her emotions that could've been revealed from that thought.

The Skywing returned the nod, replying: “I am Malaya, pleased to meet you.” Sunset looked calm, but Malaya could have sworn she had seen a flicker of something else before the Sandwing had put on a smile… Stay focused, she chided herself, you have work to do. Mentally shaking out her tension, she asked, “So, what can I do to help?”

I would love to join if I can!

Name: Vypre (pronounced Viper)
Tribe: Sandwing
Gender: male
Basic Design: normal Sandwing stuff (pale yellow scales, standard tail barb, broad flowing sail). Also has a long scar running down one side of his neck that starts on the right side at the cheek bone and runs down across where his carotid artery would be (not deep enough to break it though).

Special Abilities: Skilled in medicine, both in stopping the bleed and to help treat long term illness. has sworn to himself that he would not hurt anyone unless they were going to die and it was a last ditch effort.

Family: father left when he was very young, mother is very distant and isnt around very much, mostly lives with his adopted sister, Soul (Skywing).

I will try to include a picture of him soon.

If you dont want people joining in the middle of the story, thats fine :)

Welcome @Keltrike and @jumpers461!

Sunset thought. "Well first we can examine the scene...that might help." Sunset mused. "And maybe use my magic to trace silently." She thought
