Since this is intended for all Icicles, this roleplay will be pretty laid back. It's ok if you're not the best roleplayer, but just make sure you use complete sentences. Try to write more than one line if you can, but it's not the end of the world if you can't. All general roleplaying rules apply including no godmodding, powerplaying, or breaking the Flight Rising rules. Also try to avoid making Mary Sue characters because characters are more fun with development (and what better way to develop them than to roleplay them!). Since there will be multiple people, to help us recognize each others' dragons better, it would be helpful if you posted a linked image of the dragon you are roleplaying and their name. Description of the Southern Icefield: "The massive, frosted expanse of the Southern Icefield once enveloped the entire lower hemisphere, rivaling the size of the continents watching from above. The Icewarden and his brood now resist northern threats from the glacial prisons that they maintain at the bottom of the world. This harsh landscape has embittered generations of its denizens over time, lending to increasing hostility towards outsiders as the landmass continues to shrink."

Description of the subregions:

Frigid Floes
"This gleaming field of floes is a fleeting reminder of the former size and glory of the Southern Icefield, which once rivaled expanse of the northern continent. Recent warm weather and intrusions from the children of Fire and Lightning have contributed to the fractured landscape, each conflict pushing the puzzle pieces further apart."

Snowsquall Tundra
"The only pockets of what can pass for wildlife now huddle themselves into the brush of the tundra, which blankets the heart of the icefield. Dense evergreen forests skirt the mountain ridges, and many dragon clans huddle in wicker caves and huts nestled deep in the trees for the better part of each year."

Cloudscrape Crags
"This desolate string of mountains overlooks the frozen waste, and are among the tallest in the world. Even the hardiest of the ice dragonflight keep their clans safely below the harshness of the peaks, as those who have ventured upward never return."

The Fortress of Ends
"A frigid, unforgiving monument to the archaic past. From out of craggy, inhospitable terrain grow spires of impenetrable ice, covered in hoarfrost. ice_rune_50x50.png ~~ SO WHAT HAPPENS IN AN ICICLE'S DAILY LIFE?

The primary purpose of this roleplay is to have fun and meet and interact with other Ice Flight members, but there is nothing defining what daily life is like, so here's some information and ideas of what we might do on a regular basis.

-Serve the Icewarden
-Preserve the Southern Icefield's former glory
-Guard the Southern Icefield from outsiders and threats from the north (*cough cough* Fire and Lightning Flights)
-Interact with other clans
-Use Ice sayings and phrases (the official lingo is linked below, but feel free to make up and use your own because who knows, if it gets popular it might get added to the official lingo!)
-Hunt and gather and eat
-Care for hatchlings and nests

And don't forget to have fun!

The two expertly weaved their way across the ice, jumping here and there to try and reach the largest ice floe near their cave, an odd mix of ice floe and tundra where animals had a chance of survival. They had both made the trek many times, and it was almost second nature to them now. "Don't you adore my new tiger stripes?" Terrangeli asked as they raced through the terrain, raising her wings to the display the stripes encircling her body. "I bet Solumbus will love them..." There it was. That was the problem. Ever since Terrangeli and Solumbus had met and fallen in love instantly, Terrangeli wouldn't stop talking about him. There were a good match, Stiria admitted. But still, they were barely adults; what did they know about love? There was another pang in Stiria's heart. Stiria shook her head, trying to clear the thoughts from her mind and focus on her daughter's words. If Terrangeli was going to continue on like that, she had to make sure she wasn't telling lies or spreading rumors, at least.

Wasp was ravenous, having just come off the nest -- her first nest. Now she needed to feed not only herself, but her clutch. Unfortunately for her, the floes did not offer many snow drifts good for finding tundra grubs. Wasp could really go for a fat, juicy grub right about now. But, no. She was stuck diving for aranea. If it weren't for the fire dragons raids coming through and melting the powdery drifts grubs liked and leaving them to freeze back into hard ice no grub could burrow in, she wouldn't be reduced to this. She and her hatchlings could be rolling in grubs! Wasp was thinking dark thoughts about what she'd love to do to the next cocky fire breather to come through when she thought she spotted a dark shape moving among the floes. A dragon? Or was it two? The air around Wasp dropped several degrees. She was in her element -- her magic was strong here. And if they were those wretched fire dragons come to melt her grub's homes down again, they were going to learn a harsh lesson or two about the cold.

Terrangeli quickly noticed, stopping herself, though not quickly as cleanly. "What is it, mother?" Terrangeli asked, slipping and sliding in an effort to stop next to Stiria. Stiria hushed here and gestured to the water. A dark shape was evident, about a mere half a meter big. However, it was too big to be any sort of prey. A fae, Stiria realized with slight distaste. Terrangeli, however, had no such restraint. "Hello!" Terrangeli hollered down to the water, having left her position to rest on the edge of a floe. Stiria hissed at Terrangeli, causing her to look back inquistively before turning back to the water. How could Terrangeli be so stupid? What if it was a fire dragon? There hadn't been a lack of them hanging around the floes, to be sure.

She was not going to be intimated in her own home by a dragon of any size! A dragonic head poked over the edge of one of the floes overhead, the mirror calling down a greeting. Unfortunately, Wasp had little experience with mirrors -- it had taken her time to get used to reading her first mate, much less any other crestless dragons. She couldn't tell if the mirror was sincere. Her crest flared out in aggression as she puffed up to the largest size she could. "If you're a firebreather, you'll find no friend here!" she called back, throwing up a claw that sent a bolt of ice up, aiming for just passed the mirror's nose. A warning shot was more than a fire dragon deserved, but there was a chance the dragon wasn't an enemy.

He knew how to navigate them by now (that he had learned from a few too many dips in the freezing brine) but knowledge of the landscape was no excuse for carelessness, he'd rather keep his feet dry. Caution was the first thing he'd been taught when he'd arrived here as a hatchling, just as the Ice youngsters he'd grown up with had been taught, the Icefields were an unforgiving place and no dragon would last long if they were not careful about where they put their feet. In many respects, Sunny the Ridgeback was an Ice dragon through and through, if only his emerald eyes didn't betray that thought. Why was he out here again? Clearing his head, most likely. His clan's den had been rather too lively for his liking, what with all the new additions to the group. He thought a change of scenery would do him good...Although looking down at the cracks in the ice now was starting to make him wonder if this really was such a great idea. Try to look elsewhere... Elsewhere.. Oh! He spied a couple of dark shapes moving on the Floes (the white dragon he couldn't make out against the ice), perhaps some new company would be of help? As fond as he was of his clan, he could only take hearing Conray's stories repeated so many times before he began to tire of them, and, who knows? Maybe Sunny and his new companions would have their own little adventure story for him to bore the hatchlings with over and over again? He liked the thought of some action in his so-far-uneventful life. Carefully now though, he didn't want to seem like a threat, nor did he want to shock or surprise the other dragons (not like he could, even for a Ridgeback, Sunny is huge) so he chose his steps carefully, walking slowly and purposefully over to the other group, his neck slightly arched so as not to seem threatening. He hoped things didn't get ugly.

However, instead of attacking, Terrangeli merely bobbed in the water, making no effort to dive down into the water towards the fae. Instead she just occasionally flapped her wings to stay afloat. Crest relaxing, she considered the striped mirror's point. It was true a fire dragon would be loathe to get a single scale wet, even to join a fight. Cautiously, Wasp swam towards the mirror. It was dangerous, yes. At close range a mirror could make short work of her. But Wasp needed to know. Once Wasp was close enough to see the whites of the mirror's eyes, she deflated. "Forgive me, sister," Wasp said, crest laid back, sheepish. "The recent fire raids have made me jumpy." So jumpy, Wasp could swear the long shadow just beyond the mirrors... moved. But that wasn't possible. No dragons got that large, not even her massive mate.

"The recent fire raids have made me jumpy."

So jumpy, Wasp could swear the long shadow just beyond the mirrors... moved. But that wasn't possible. No dragons got that large, not even her massive mate.

"You can never be too careful." At the words, almost ironically, Stiria saw a shadow shake ever so slightly out of the corner of her eye, but thought nothing of it. Terrangeli, focused on the fae, had noticed nothing. By now, Stiria had crept up to the the edge of the floe, more relaxed. "I am at fault as well," Stiria admitted. "I was perhaps a bit hasty in my assumptions after the ice bolt." Terrangeli beamed up at her mother, knowing how hard it was for her to admit her faults, before turning back to the fae. "Now, what are you doing here in the water? Perhaps the fish are good pickings, but the freezing water cannot make it worthwhile."

I am always looking for dragons with the same primary and secondary color and are either Iridescent, Shimmer, not a plentiful breed, or more than one of the above.

"I'm hunting the aranea that sometimes cling under the ice," she said, ears flat and her crest literally fallen at the lengths which she'd been forced to. "The fire dragons have destroyed all the fresh powder, and there's hardly a tundra grub to be found."
