The Forbidden Forest
19:35
There was an audible whoosh that filled the air as the apparition ward went down, and the festivities were kicking off inside of Hogwarts Castle, as well as the University's mess hall.
There was an eerie quietness that hung over the Forbidden Forest, as thick as the smog wafting through the trees. All that could be heard was the commotion inside if the castle, and the sound of skittering insects, the occasional cracking of wood, and although the storm had died completely down, every now and then the rumble of thunder could be heard nearby.
The edge of the Forbidden Forest was full of curious students who'd noticed the burning, and had come around to inspect, but their curiosity was quickly deterred by the sounds of footsteps approaching. Most of them took for their respective buildings as fast as their feet could carry them, aside from one group, who managed to make it inside in time...
Nadia, Tarina | Slytherin, Ravenclaw | Forbidden Forest | Interacting with: The Scooby Gang
It didn't take long for Nadia to dig into her bag of respective Scooby Snacks she managed to swipe from the feast, and she was clearly having a blast chatting with Lin while hovering on her own broomstick, and enjoying the company of dog-Emile. She eventually went on a whole tangent about her beloved hunting hounds back home, but Tarina wasn't catching a word of it. Her face was contorted with nervousness as she eyed Ixi, the thestral. She couldn't even remember how it happened but she could in fact, see her, and that's what made her nervous.
When Evelyn finally approached, like a small pup, Tarina dashed to her side. She handed her the bag of food, and opened her mouth to speak, but she couldn't get a word in before-
"
Welcome to the party, Evie! Glad you finally decided to join us."
Entirely unbothered by Evelyn's curt remark, Nadia put a hand on Evelyn's head and ruffled up her hair, only to be bumped aside by Tarina, who was trying to placate the situation before it could become, well, a situation. Nadia gingerly floated off to the side on her broomstick, not minding the bump at all. In fact, it was taking some restraint for her not to laugh.
The smaller girl tried again to speak, but didn't have a moment to respond before the approaching voices got a little too close for comfort. She'd known the professors would come for them. But of course, it was alright, she came prepared.
A quick swish of her wand, and she cast a Muffliato charm around herself, Nadia, Evelyn, Lin, Damla and doggy-Emile, Dov and Zayne - the spell unfortunately only traveled so far, and whoever was left behind was at the mercy of the professors who were on their way to escort them back to the castle and possibly, well, worse.
"
In here. No Lumos spells, we can't be seen." Tarina, with Nadia's help, directed the gang into a small path that was only barely illuminated with patches of moonlight, but after a couple of steps there was nothing but darkness surrounding them. Tarina, although holding a constant stoic face, seemed to enjoy taking charge of their little mission, but after everyone had stepped into the dark, she fell behind and took Evelyn tightly by the arm, one armed hand at the ready to cast.
"
We'll need the extra hands, we can't do it alone. Also I don't want to." She whispered to Evelyn, before slightly raising her voice again.
"
If we have any other animagus here, we can lead the way. We see better in the dark, and we'll be a bit more inconspicuous."
She motioned to Evelyn with her hand, and a quick nod of the head, before morphing down with the kind of grace only Tarina could muster. She took the shape of a small fox, dark, with white patches of fur. Only in the winter, her animagus form's fur would turn completely white. The small fox ran ahead of the group, quiet on her feet, and Nadia shook her head, as she floated along quietly above the ground.
"
Show off."
