Eleanor | Gryffindor | Hogsmeade | Open to Interaction | Profile

Eleanor decided she probably wouldn't be wanted if she just dropped down out of nowhere, so she decided to hurry back and hope she wasn't late for her lesson.

Running up the slippery stairs after the rain and summoning her books she really hoped she wouldn't slip and fall, after all that would be a terrible start to her school year.

She darted into the classroom just as her literature class was beginning, lowering her head and hurrying for a seat, and plopping down with a small sigh of relief.

Damla | Griffindor | Hogsmead | Interacting with: Zayne (+Scooby Gang)
((I'm subbed so no need to ping me, but I won't mind if you do))

Damla gave a mischievous laugh after the hand shake. "Emile? He loves animals. He may look all broody and antisocial but he's a big fluffy, softy inside." She winked at the dog and booped him on the nose. "Don't worry about him. He's around," she answered honestly and gestured vaguely around them to let Zayne draw his own conclusions. She wasn't lying, just omitting information, after all.

"Well, yeah. We're going in the forest. You don't have to cast anything on me; fire is an old friend." She winked mysteriously.

Damla rolled out her flying carpet and hoped onto it. she sat cross legged and looked around to see if anyone wanted a ride. Then a thought occurred to her.

"We might need someone to cover for us. We might be in Uni with more freedom, but going into a blazing forest is a bit of a stretch..." She trailed off, hoping that someone would volunteer. She really wanted to poke around the forest, and didn't fear getting into trouble, but better be careful.

Evelyn l Hufflepuff l Hogsmeade -> Porch l Interacting with: Tarina, Nadia, Dov, Zayne, Damla, Emile, and Lin (@sadcreme @Zaviei @Cirquedubestial @Draconequis)

Evelyn apparated just in time from the Hufflepuff Dormitories before the ward went down over the school for witches and wizards. She appraised the sillouette in the distance with a tender gaze, her eyes softening. The wind and rain whipped hard against the tin roof of the station. A lamp hung on a long rusted chain from one of the wooden rafters, and its embers faintly blew in the opposite direction as it swung idly.

“Take care little ones”, she murmured more to herself than anyone else in particular. The wind was blowing her long straight locks in all directions. With gentle care she folded her lanky fingers around them in a restraining manner, twisted the clump and held it to her chest.

She’d been standing with her back to the whole commotion at Hogsmeade, and could almost bear to ignore the rupture of smoke sizzling through the rainy breeze. The scent was mixed with a cacophony of rich forest herbs, trees, familiar pastures and some variety of memories.

When the initial melancholy subsided, she turned to find her friend Tarina standing with a bunch of others. Some of the faces she recognized from the train, some she recognized from the previous semester. They were students at the university, and one brought a dog. She went over each face in particular.

“Really? They let us keep canines as familiars, too? If I’m lucky, by next year they’ll even entertain us by letting us keep our other exotic friends with us”, she beamed, walking over to the cluster of people surrounding her friend and her sister, Nadia.

“Nadia”, she nodded curt. It was no secret that Evelyn had some reservations for the taller sibling of her friend. “Who are all these people?” she whispered close to Tarina’s ear, tucking the ever loose strand of dark ebony hair over her shoulder back into the bundle of hair in her hands.

(Sorry life gave me a kick in the rear reminding me it still existed)
Oceanus|Slytherin|Forbidden Forest|Open to interaction
Oceanus quickly got bored listening to the conversations below him and alongside Noctis, Libra, and Dies, he quickly made his way back to the castle and to his dorm. Flopping down on the bed he pulled out a sketchbook and started to draw a silhouette of three cats overlooking a clearing in a forest. Pulling a tablet out from where he's stashed it under his pillow, he opened up his youtube and allowed his features to become sharper, eyes changing to a gold/silver combo as his hair faded to a dark blue shade.

"Hey, guys, Eclipse here. I figure I'd do a start of term video for ya'll so I hope you enjoy!" He said looking into the camera he set up before switching its focus to his computer where he started drawing Hogwarts in all its glory. His pen glided over the tablet's surface as the lines became visible on the screen and some music played in the background. Around Hogwarts, figures were scattered around, crowds of people gathering together and going inside. By the time he'd finished, the image looks like a 3D model. Oceanus turned the camera back to him.
"Well, that's all I have for today. I hope you liked this one and I'll see ya soon." And with that, he turned off the camera and saved the video before turning off his computer and placing it back under the pillow. Nocti Libra and Dies had been taking a nap throughout the entire thing and Oceanus decided to join them.

The Forbidden Forest
19:35

There was an audible whoosh that filled the air as the apparition ward went down, and the festivities were kicking off inside of Hogwarts Castle, as well as the University's mess hall.

There was an eerie quietness that hung over the Forbidden Forest, as thick as the smog wafting through the trees. All that could be heard was the commotion inside if the castle, and the sound of skittering insects, the occasional cracking of wood, and although the storm had died completely down, every now and then the rumble of thunder could be heard nearby.

The edge of the Forbidden Forest was full of curious students who'd noticed the burning, and had come around to inspect, but their curiosity was quickly deterred by the sounds of footsteps approaching. Most of them took for their respective buildings as fast as their feet could carry them, aside from one group, who managed to make it inside in time...

Nadia, Tarina | Slytherin, Ravenclaw | Forbidden Forest | Interacting with: The Scooby Gang

It didn't take long for Nadia to dig into her bag of respective Scooby Snacks she managed to swipe from the feast, and she was clearly having a blast chatting with Lin while hovering on her own broomstick, and enjoying the company of dog-Emile. She eventually went on a whole tangent about her beloved hunting hounds back home, but Tarina wasn't catching a word of it. Her face was contorted with nervousness as she eyed Ixi, the thestral. She couldn't even remember how it happened but she could in fact, see her, and that's what made her nervous.

When Evelyn finally approached, like a small pup, Tarina dashed to her side. She handed her the bag of food, and opened her mouth to speak, but she couldn't get a word in before-

"Welcome to the party, Evie! Glad you finally decided to join us."
Entirely unbothered by Evelyn's curt remark, Nadia put a hand on Evelyn's head and ruffled up her hair, only to be bumped aside by Tarina, who was trying to placate the situation before it could become, well, a situation. Nadia gingerly floated off to the side on her broomstick, not minding the bump at all. In fact, it was taking some restraint for her not to laugh.

The smaller girl tried again to speak, but didn't have a moment to respond before the approaching voices got a little too close for comfort. She'd known the professors would come for them. But of course, it was alright, she came prepared.

A quick swish of her wand, and she cast a Muffliato charm around herself, Nadia, Evelyn, Lin, Damla and doggy-Emile, Dov and Zayne - the spell unfortunately only traveled so far, and whoever was left behind was at the mercy of the professors who were on their way to escort them back to the castle and possibly, well, worse.

"In here. No Lumos spells, we can't be seen." Tarina, with Nadia's help, directed the gang into a small path that was only barely illuminated with patches of moonlight, but after a couple of steps there was nothing but darkness surrounding them. Tarina, although holding a constant stoic face, seemed to enjoy taking charge of their little mission, but after everyone had stepped into the dark, she fell behind and took Evelyn tightly by the arm, one armed hand at the ready to cast.

"We'll need the extra hands, we can't do it alone. Also I don't want to." She whispered to Evelyn, before slightly raising her voice again.

"If we have any other animagus here, we can lead the way. We see better in the dark, and we'll be a bit more inconspicuous."

She motioned to Evelyn with her hand, and a quick nod of the head, before morphing down with the kind of grace only Tarina could muster. She took the shape of a small fox, dark, with white patches of fur. Only in the winter, her animagus form's fur would turn completely white. The small fox ran ahead of the group, quiet on her feet, and Nadia shook her head, as she floated along quietly above the ground.

"Show off."

Damla | Griffindor | Forbidden Forest | Interacting with: Scooby Gang

Damla whistled for Emile to hop on the carpet but the golden furred dog ignored her and walked along with Zayne. After two seconds of pouting, she called to the witch.

"He, Zayne, right? Hop on! There's plenty of space on the carpet and the mud of the forest doesn't look appealing."

She frowned thoughtfully at Nadia's request for animagi. They had a fox plus Doggy-Emile (though his night vision was nothing too amazing), and she could shift as well. But the reason why she was so confident in this little adventure was because of her mastery over fire. And as an animal, she couldn't cast magic. Though maybe... Passive magics might still work, so she might just keep her immunity to it. But, as recless as she was, she knew that testing a theory with forest fire from an unknown source was just poking a sleeping dragon.

She was going to quietly sit on her carpet. No really, she was. But she made the mistake to glance at Emile. He was staring straight at her with a challenge in his eyes. Don't you dare? And she couldn't resist a challenge.

"Nadiaaaa~ I have amazing night vision in my other form, but 'inconspicuous' wouldn't be the world I would use." With that said in a playful voice, she turned to Zayne. "Keep an eye on the carpet. I swear that thing gained awareness after we watched Aladdin."

Damla gracefully hopped down from said carpet and landed as a graceful mountain lion. Her eyes reflected any light around, making them glow in the darkness of the Forbidden Forest. She walked ahead after the fox, her padded paw making little to no sound.

Emile stayed behind to watch over the group of humans. His hearing was more reliable that his sight in this forest.

[Important points:
-Damla gave the flying carpet to Zayne (for him to babysit)
-she shifted into her mountain lion form and walked ahead to scout
-Emile stayed (still a dog) with the human group]

Dov | Slytherin | Forbidden Forest | Interacting with the scooby gang (Emile)

Well, this had clearly backfired. Apparently, everyone here seemed to have some sort of stigma against Thestral. He spent so much time with them at home, so much time around them that he'd become so comfortable with them beside him and had all but forgotten they were even disliked. It was always a surprise to him that people were so afraid of Thestrals, going off their bad reputation rather than actually getting to know them personally as he had. he supposed it was the same thing at being able to talk to snakes. People just.. automatically assumed you were a bad seed. Not that he could talk to snakes, but he just had this feeling it was kind of a cool gift to have, not to mention useful in many situations.

Sighing as he grasped the back of Ixi's head to throw himself over her broad shoulders and onto her back, he pat the side of her neck and clicked his tongue lightly at her, she took off into the sky, following after the others with a slick furl of her wings. In the night, she blended in to the sky, almost invisible even to those who could see her. And even if they could see her, it wasn't odd to see a thestral flying around the forbidden forest.

The landing was just as graceful, a gentle folding of wings and a setting of her hooves on the ground. Ixi took a long, hard glance at the carpet, which was apparently trying to escape and then rather purposefully plopped her heavy body right down on the corner.

Dov chuckled at her antics and Mage cackled from inside his shirt, as if trying to copy his laugh. A gentle brush of his forehead against Ixi's own he hummed softly. "Thanks. Keep an eye out to make sure we weren't followed?"

Ixi let out a noise which could only be described as the sound of two icicles scraping against each other. She nuzzled Dov's face and then stayed behind as Dov gave Zayne a small smile before entering the forest.

He would.. should.. probably keep his distance from the others. Not too far because the lack of lumos was.. frustrating. He flinched as a member of their group shifted into a lioness and darted into the trees. And then another shifted into a fox as smoothly as the first one. His stomach twisted in jealousy. And in response, he muttered off a few spells, transfiguring his eyes ever so slightly into those of a predatory animal. Of course it wasn't the same as being able to actually be an animal.. but it was as close as he could get, some kind of weird hybrid monstrosity. Cursed dragon patronus had ruined everything for him.

So he remained, with the carpet, and with Ixi, awkwardly staring at the dog which had stayed behind for some reason or another.

Zayne | Griffindor | Forbidden Forest | Interacting with: Damla (+Scooby Gang)

Zayne only grinned at Damla as she continued to tell him about the dog before her. And he just scratched it behind the ears happily, none the wiser to her prank.

Damla rolled out her flying carpet and hoped onto it. she sat cross legged and looked around to see if anyone wanted a ride. Then a thought occurred to her.

Staying behind would kind of be a bummer, to cover their tracks? But before he could sigh and offer himself as he usually did for his sister, Damla had changed her mind and was asking for him to jump on the carpet.

Grinning wildly, Zayne leaped up on the carpet with a smooth jump. Continuing to pat their dog friend as he did, he settled in beside them as the carpet took off.

"I.. can.. shoow you the wooooorrrllld..." He started, snickering as he trailed off mid-song and just snickered at his own joke.

Honestly he didn't even mind at being caught. Really he was over the legal age, the most he would get from the professors was a weak slap on the wrist. He didn't technically NEED to be here after all. None of them technically did. Though he supposed he'd rather not sit around and listen to the teacher blab about for a while.

He honestly was pretty lost when one of them said something about an animagus. And then.. two of them were ANimagi.

So floored, Zayne almost didn't even notice the thestral land next to him, but as it settled down on the carpet and nuzzled face with the scary buff guy, he definitely gave it notice.

Not willing to stand around the guy with his scarily intimate relationship with the Thestral, he took off into the woods after the cat that was Damla, trying his best to track her tail, but tripping over his feet and smacking his nose into a tree in the process.

"Ow." He groaned, feeling the sensation of hot wet blood dripping from his nose. "Woo!" he laughed, pinching the bridge of his nose and waddling through the forest at a slower pace. "So i'm pretty darn good at putting out fires, so its a good thing I tagged along. Living with Veela means fire and stuff." he snickered.

(Important things of note.

-Dov feels awkward and stayed behind to be with Ixi and Emile)

Eleanor | Gryffindor | Hogsmeade | Attempting to interact with Dov (@Draconequis) and Emile the doggo (@Zaviei) [if you both don't mind...?] | Profile

Eleanor shifted into her animagus form, the tell-tale prickling of feathers poking their way through her skin, and with that, she jumped out the window, the sensation of the wind never failing to take her breath away each time. She considered herself extremely lucky to have this form, a peregrine falcon, because she absolutely loved the feeling of flying.

Turning and plunging into a sharp, eye-watering dive, she headed towards the forbidden forest, letting out a sharp screech of happiness, and made a pass over the fringes of the forest.

Once she got up closer, she noticed how the smoke appeared to be thicker than normal, almost oily, and it clung to her sapphire feathers. She performed a barrel roll, wings snapping back into position, and shook off the smoke, still slightly suspicious of the strange texture. It seemed to hang in the air, heavy and impenetrable, and she could feel her feathers stand on end just by being near the smoke. She wheeled around, taking care to avoid the smoke this time, and decided to take a detour around it, close enough to see but not close enough to touch.

On her second pass over, she noticed a guy standing next to a thestral and a dog, and she spiralled downwards, slightly reluctant to end her short flight, but she landed nonetheless, stumbling slightly as her wings turned back into feathers, feeling much heavier. She stood next to the thestral, tentatively extending a hand towards the thestral for it to sniff, and hoped it wouldn't kick her into oblivion.

"So, uhh, what's your name? Do you know what's going on with the forest?"

Lin l Forbidden Forest l Interacting with Scooby Gang

Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, morphing into animals, which Lin had involuntarily gagged at (it was nothing personal, he just never had a liking to watch the transformation process of Animagi), and in general, messing around. He didn't stray far from the group but soon began to trail behind. There were no special spells or tricks up his sleeves, not really being much use to the group if they were to encounter something dangerous. Fear began to settle in, doubt slowly crawling over him. This was a mistake... why had I suggested this in the first place?

Ignoring the strange guy (who Lin had forgotten the name of already unfortunately) that had a bloody nose, he pulled his hood over his head and kept his head down from habit. The potion given to by Damla was wearing off, and his eyelids began to droop once more. However, Lin sharply reminded himself not to be even more of a weakness to the team and tried to take his mind off of the drowsiness by looking at the forest. Perhaps he was able to find clues of what made the fires as what he assumed to be a monster (his imagination was wild at times) traveled around the area.

The trees towered over Lin, their knotted branches rising up endlessly as far as her head would tilt. The moonlight struggled to break through the thick green ceiling covering them, allowing black shadows to drape the groves. Mysterious rustling sounds could be heard from different directions, the source of the noises hard to discern because of the loud chatter. Occasionally, Lin would trip over the tangles of roots and shrubbery but strangely enough, he never fell over. As the party continued on in the woods, it seemed to get darker, or perhaps it was just Lin becoming even more tired. High in the canopy of trees, hidden behind twisting branches, nocturnal songbirds sang numerous haunting symphonies scaring him more than before. The whole experience was very eerie, Lin concluded, as more and more creatures seemed to awaken while they passed by.
