[center][sub](I've been lurking around the threads for a while and haven't found anything open of interest so I figured I'll make my own?) [/sub][/center] ----- [center]I have an idea for a RP based around the Monster Hunter games, in which something (probably magical) causes several hunters (the players) to suddenly turn into a species of monster themselves. It's not very fleshed out, thus why this is an interest check before I go and make an actual RP thread. [b]Some info about this AU:[/b] [LIST] [*]Those who can turn into a monster have been dubbed "Wyvernlings", or "Wyv's" (Wihvs) for short. [*]The event that caused hunters to take on monster forms happened around 5 years prior to this RP taking place. However, ever since it occurred a new shifter has been revealed every few months or so, so age can vary. Though no shifters have been seen under the age of 16. [*]The transformation can be at random, though people are starting to think strong emotions are tied in as well. [*]The first transformation is always the most violent, and during it the individual has no control of their actions, and tends to behave similar to a frenzied monster. After the first time, it seems to be much easier, and the individual has control of their monster form, for the most part. (They might be inclined to hunt or fight, but it is ultimately just an instinctual urge, and can usually be ignored/resisted.) [*]Those who have been able to transform for longer tend to have better control and some can even change forms at will. [*]A Wyvernling's monster form tends to be a bit smaller/weaker then that of a true monster. [*]Wyv's are ultimately cast aside from human society, as they are deemed a danger to the public. If it is revealed a hunter is a Wyvernling, their rank and hunter status is publicly revoked. Strength comes naturally to him, and sometimes he fails to remember his own. His hair is platinum blonde in color, resembling the fur of Stygian Zinogre, and his eyes are a vivid amber, his pupils slit like a monster’s. Black and grey scales like that of a Stygian Zinogre cover his back and neck. It’s astonishing he doesn’t have more scars then he does. -Highly emotional, but always tries to hide it. Usually fails. -Likes to make others happy, usually through jokes and humor/making them laugh. Sometimes tries a bit too hard to do so. -Doesn’t take well to being talked down to or commanded, which is why the guild is so cautious with him. Give him an order and he might just do the opposite out of spite. [b]History/Backstory:[/b] Dante was unlucky in the sense that he was one of the first Wyvernlings to transform five years ago. He was 18. His identity was revealed to the guild from his own partner, who betrayed him, and he was taken in to be studied. For the first two years he was forbidden from leaving the guild headquarters, under constant watch should he loose control again. By the third year he was permitted to leave the premises, so long as he returned. His monster instincts got the best of him and he transformed within the village and traveled in search of a place to shed his dark scales. The hunters thought his transformation to be an act of aggression and tracked him down and subdued him. This past year had been his first of near total freedom, apart from the hunters in charge of watching him at all times. [b]Extra/Other:[/b] -Does Dante is gay? Yes. -He has a fascination with toads, and has 3 pet toads in his home, one of each variant. Paratoad, Sleeptoad, Nitrotoad. Sometimes he uses toxins he’s collected from them in battle.
