The Alchemist laid on the platform, unmoving.
A cracking noise can be heard, sounding like thunder in the grave silence-the rune on his hand was now pitch black,a crack appearing on the stone and started moving upwards.
The dream environment darkened and soon shattered and crumbled like glass, falling away silently then fading to nothingness, leaving the beast laying on his stomach in the center of the room.
As the crack on the rune kept going, his breathing started slowing down and he soon started struggling to breathe-gasping desperately for air, feeling like someone was choking him.
Jevudhat snapped his eyes open, pupils shrunk in fear-air,he needed air now more than ever, the atmosphere was took thick with the smell of fire, burnt bones and rotting flesh for him to breathe properly.
He rose up from the ground, pushing himself up and started limping his way towards the window.
As he got closer,he started feeling heavy, exhausted and so sleepy that he could just fall asleep right then and there...but he didn't.The Serthis kept fighting to stay alive, stubbornly refusing to give up-of all ways that he could possibly end,he would not accept this one.
So he kept going, kept fighting, kept limping onward, not caring about whether he would be seen or not.
It soon became apparent what the damaged rune was doing to him exactly-it wasn't taking away his sanity nor mind,no something much worse and much more important-his life and well being.
As the crack continued to grow, his appearance became more and more shattered,undead-broken beyond what is considered normal,at this point he looked far less like a beast but a monster that you would see in swamps lurking around aimlessly.
A monster that would terrify anyone,no matter their age-child,teen,adult or elder.
Fate was truly cruel and unforgiving towards him, enjoying his suffering.
By the time he had reached the tower's window, his rune was almost completely cracked, one single inch was all that was left and the stone would be in half, broken completely.
A single inch was keeping the Alchemist alive-extremely weak with horrible eyesight and a very slowly beating heart but still alive nonetheless.
Jevudhat collapsed on the floor, just before the window, finally no longer capable of fighting his fate.
He turned his head to look outside one last time, his blue eyes staring at the stars without really seeing anything.
Oh how he wished to see Nactis, the gang, his comrades and love just one more time, just to say farewell before fading. His lids felt soo heavy...the world faded to black.
Was this really the end?
"Jev..hat..Jevu!...Jevudhat! Wake..Up! Wake up,Sh#tstain!"
What? Who was this? He was so tired...Sobbing,crying.Why?
Yelling and Sobbing. What was going on?
They were all in the main room, including Shercei who was recently resurrected.
Rarszozs held his love close, his head on the other's chest, bitter tears running down.
He was devastated.
He shook the other beast again, his expression a mixture of fury and sorrow as he desperately tried to wake the Alchemist.
"Don't you dare ditch all of us! Don't you dare! Wake up!"His voice was pleading and urgent.
The others were staring at the rune in shock.
Nactis spoke up quietly with a wavering voice.
"The rune,it has to be fixed and now. Can someone heal it or fix it in some way?"
Meanwhile the Alchemist slithered through an endless field, his shipmates walking calmly by his side.
Suddenly Blackeye and Gaudiam stopped looking at the Serthis.
"Jevu, you have to go back lad,you can't go further."
Jevudhat looked up at the Guardian in confusion.
"Yer time isn't 'ere yet,it's far too soon for ye to pass on the other side.Ye have to go back."
A portal appeared by the dragon's side.
Blackeye gently pushed the beast towards it with his hand.
"Wait,what about you three?"
The elderly Tundra stepped forward a little, smiling in a motherly manner, her voice gentle and soft as she spoke.
"We can't go with ye,we have to cross for our time has come to move on.Smile dear,we'll be back all 'ere some day but not now."
"Yeah,Jevs! Cheer up mate,we'll be right back before ye say 'parrot'!" Cerides chriped, sounding happy and carefree as always.
Jevudhat turned to look at the portal, eying it unsure.
"Go on lad,we'll be right 'ere and waitin when ye come back."
The Serthis smiled wistfully while tearing up slightly, his voice light and shacky.
"You ferrets,is this how ye say farewell to yer ol'comrade? At least give me something to hold onto to keep my soul calm!"
The three dragons stood silent for a moment, confused then started laughing once they got the message.
The fae was first to speack while nearly tackling the beast.
"Gee Jevudhat! Ye could have just said ye want a hug ye know?"The Serthis snorted with amusement, voice sarcastic."Yeah sure, like a big scary beast would go waltzin 'round askin for free hugs."
Cerides pulled away, grinning from ear to ear. "Eh,who knows? Surely Medusa would ask for a few in she could talk. Still fair point."
The two other dragons gave Jevudhat a quick hug before stepping back.
They said their farewells and the Alchemist slithered through the portal.
The Alchemist woke up,slowly opening his eyes to see the whole gang around him,his love facing away from him.The dragons were first to react, whistling and cheering in joy.
Rarszozs stared at them like they had all gone mad.
Jevudhat looked at them somewhat sheepishly,a huge grin on his face.
"Hello."
The Adept whirled around sharply and stared at him with the anger of thousand suns before tackling him to the ground, yelling a 'Jevudhat you bloody weasel!'.
The two tumbled laughing as well as the others.
----
Rarszozs stood up and helped his love get up as well, his expression having changed to happy and loving.
"Welcome back,you weasel."
He grabbed the Alchemist by his hand and pulled him close,a mischievous grin appearing on his face.
"Ya won't pull this thing again, would you?"
The other beast simply chuckled amused before tangling their tails just a little bit, smiling.
"We'll see,no promises though. Also mind yer moves,we have audience 'ere."
Rarszozs rolled his eyes at him, smiling while leaning in,muttering a 'Screw the audience' before kissing him for a quick moment then pulling away.

[The other denizens began to wake, if only for a little while. Blood gave a softer roar, waiting as each Denizen responded, like a roll call. Time and Light were the first to respond, followed shortly by Void, Heart, and Doom. Hope and Life both answered, loud enough to get Mind to respond. Space gave a small cry, just loud enough to be heard, while Breath gave a joyous whoop. Rage refused to respond properly, simply continuing to terrorize the little wolves on the planet. They're forms were still twisted beyond true recognition, but they all knew each others voices well.]

Suddenly the Alchemist foze, expression chaging to an 'OH Sh@t!' look, making the others look at him in confusion.
[``I missed my first day of school...``]
Today is the third day of school...probbably and I've missed the previous two! Thank goodness the first two days aren't that fatal to miss, since we're just amilessly wandering about the building and sitting on our desks without doing anything in class. The entrance exams are likely banging on our doors though if not already here...I'm screwed.
He quickly went to his room, grabbing his school bag that was full of journals, herbs, vials, books and textbooks as well as a pencilcase,a bottle of ink and a quill.
Jevudhat hurriedly swung his bag over his shoulder.
"Come on Shenz! We're gonna be late!" He nearly shouted to his friend as he wooshed outside, slithering towards the Forum as fast as he could, not looking back.
Rars shrugged and calmly slithered outside, dragging his brother along.
"Welp, off we go scavenging, see ya buggers later."
The others went outside to take a walk through the forest just to kill some time as well for the hatchlings to see some world after all the chaos that happened.
The day was surprisingly warm and sunny with gentle winds blowing from time to time.
Most dragons sprawled themselves on rocks that were well beathed in sunlight, keeping an eye out on the hatchlings playing, chasing one another and prancing around, squawking and yelping in their games.
Some members of the group were calmly strolling around the area, minding their distance so they won't get lost or stumble upon the 'labirynth of horrors' how the inhabitants had dubbed the ruins scattered after the first battle.

The dragons gave a chorus of their own greetings then resumed their relaxing, some even started chatting excitedly about an upcoming event in the forest.
The two beasts arrived at the Forum of the Obscured Crescent, just on time.
There was a building that seemed to be a mixture between a castle and a regular school that one would expect to see in fairy tales with a big yard to it.
You could see dragons and beasts of all kinds and ages bustling about, chattering, training or simply chilling on a nearby bench, enjoying the nice weather while it lasts.
The two Serthis approached the tall shool gates that had a sign with bold letters engraved, reading'University of Shadows Akademi High' and moved past the gargoyle statutes that were looming on the sides. The gates closed behind them silently and locked.
Everything was fairly quiet until someone shrieked 'Shenzi!Jevu!' as loudly as possible with joy in their voice, their shriek echoing far from the crowd.
Soon the source of the noise became apparent as they moved towards the two beasts-a fairly short harpy can be seen running through the crowd, her arms wide open for a massive bear hug.
Some laughed, others ignored the odd beast.
Jevudhat grimaced, already seeing what is to come and as sweet as the gesture was,the harpy was just hugging a tad bit too strongly, not knowing her own strength and he would rather skip that.
What was her name again? Ah,yes Wendry,right-a short, kinda buffy but frustratingly agile and quick Harpy with the plumage of a snowy owl.Her eyes are always so bright with soo much emotion that they nearly seemed yellow instead of green, her black hair was always ruffled and sticking out in all directions, making it impossible to tame.
Wendry has a black and white mask with crimson feathers on the sides as well as a marigold silk belt wrapped tightly around her waist with many little chimes affixed to it that jungled with her every movement to compliment her loud and wild personality.
The Alchemist leaned a bit to his friend, quietly whispering to her.
"Watch out,her hugs really are bear ones." He straightened up again and waited for Wendry to get close, gracefully sidestepping when she reached them and of course tried to hug him first.
She did manage to hug Shercei though and well, the Alchemist was right-the Harpy's hug really was like that of a bear-warm,sweet,friendly and seriously tight as Wendry squeezed the poor Serthis while going on and on about how much she had missed them and how long it has been since the last time they saw one another-five years.
"Ohh so happy to see you two again! Jevu, come and join the hug,no?"She asked his, turning her head to face him.
The Alchemist frowned, crossing his arms, speaking with a sarcastic tone of voice.
"Oh sure, why not.I don't want my spine broken by a bird thank ye very much. Also, let Shercei breath, yer gonna break her spine."
Wendry scowled in mock offense.
"Aww,you're such a meany! You really haven't changed one bit since last time!"She whined childishly while letting go of the Opheodrys, saying a quick 'sorry' to Shercei before turning her attention back to the Alchemist.
Jevudhat snorted with amusement and slightly puffed out his chest in mock pride, lifting his chin up with a smug grin, saying a 'I know and I am hella proud.'then returned to his normal posture, grinning in his usual warm and cheeky manner.
He took out his pocket journal and flipped it to the semester's program.
"Anyway,we gotta move-Crafts will be starting soon and the teacher is just really over the moon to slap on some failures just 'cause some students arrived late. Not to mention that the cabinet is all the way at the end of the corridor."
Wendry shugged nonchalantly, hooking her arms around the two's shoulders while walking at a slow relaxed pace.
"Sure, whatever, though Mrs Ringles isn't really that strict with her timing but alright."
She said, her naturally rough, deep voice having a sort of Irish accent to it as well as an air of confidence and joy.
The three beast made their way to the building, chatting and catching up.

[Sherc rolled her eyes slightly, laughing along with the others. She was making an attempt to be upbeat and her usual self, but she could only do so much. Jevudhat's comments about breaking her spine really didn't help. But this was a new experience, might as well enjoy it instead of dwelling in the past.]

[The hatchling, Jade, skid to a halt when she spotted a flash of light. She looked torn for a moment, wanting to see what caused the flash, but also wanting to keep hunting. She quickly shouted a command to Bec, sending the dog off to keep tailing the buck, before she started to approach the light. She found the source-a glowing green sprite kernel, floating in the middle of a forest clearing. It had been trying to locate the labyrinth but had just ended up floating there, unable to understand the forest paths.]

[Serket landed, ignoring the confused looks as she made her way through the clan camp to find Aradia. As expected, the ghost was busy setting up her room, floating half way through a wall as she strung up bat shaped lights. Serket idly tossed one of her cobalt dice up and down, giving a shortened summary of all that had happened, even though Aradia seemed to already know about it all.]

They soon entered the building, walking down a long corridor with doors on the right and large windows on the left,a map written in all languages was floating in the air, giving a rough look of the current floor and where witch cabinet was located.
Jevudhat stopped for a second, scanning over the map.
He found the crafts cabinet and the storage room-nothing too fancy, just an endless valut with all kinds of materials.
The crafts room was numbered C-1,even though it was all the way at the end of the hall.
He then moved on,easily catching up with his friends.
He opened the door and held it open for the two to enter, saying a polite 'Ladies first' and waiting them before trailing after them, closing the door.
Right off the bat,you could see that there weren't really any desks in the large classroom but rather one big circular table in the center with some dragons and beasts already working on some projects together while other kept to themselves at the farthest end of the table.
Soon enough students started filing in and taking materials then setting to work, with a few beginners(hatchlings)scampering about before settling on doodling something.
Wendry let out a loud whistle and placed her hands on her hips, pouting a bit then smiled.
"Welp,I'll go fetch us a place at the table, else we might be left hanging with nowhere to sit."She said with a huge grin then dissappeared into the crowd once again, trying to find a good place.
The Alchemist remained on his spot for a second thinking things over.
So now we have Crafts and Arts then we'll be having...Free flying then Alchemy on tird place,Human language fourth,Botany fifth,Free period and finally Visions and Prophecies.
We can't fly so maybe I can try prototyping something that would let us glide at the very least, gliding is a form of flight right?
He thought as he grabbed a large sheet of paper and some sketching tools as well as measuring ones.
He waved over at Wendry who waved back, making a few students scoot away to make space.
Jevudhat went over, taking his seat at the table, setting the paper down and started sketching out the rough shape of a Serthis, drawing lines across and scribbling down witch part what it was for.
Once satisfied with his calculations, notes and blueprint,he went to the storage room, rummaging through the materials, searching for what he needed.
He soon emerged back with a handful of leather, metal pieces, long metal rods and other things.
It took him the whole class but in the end he managed to make a gliding suit or at least a prototype.
It looked a bit like that of Hiccup from httyd except it didn't have any leg parts and a helmet.
No one had noticed when a orange poison Mirror had slipped into the room and was sitting at her desk in the furthest left corner of the room, looking over her students with pride.
Soon the bell rang, announcing the end of class.
Mrs Ringles cleares her throat and raised her voice for everyone to hear.
"Alright class is over, don't forget to finish your projects at home for those who slept throughout the entire class.Dismissed."
The students hurriedly left the room, chatting with one another and roaming the halls.
"Well, now's Free flight class. We don't have too much minutes to spare but I guess we have enough to hang out and chat."Said the Alchemist as he waited for his friends to catch up outside while holding his prototype in his hands,an easy grin on his face.
Wendry emerged first, followed by Shercei. The harpy spoke up first, cheerfully.
"Yep we got time indded! Oooh, what is this?"She asked in awe as she poked at the thing with her wing.
"It's a glide suit, well it's supposed to be at least, will give it a couple of trials while we talk."The Serthis answered, beginning to slither to the back yard where the class is usually hosted, since the back yard was charmed to actually mimic the Redcleft Ascent to extend that the students actually think they are really there.
Once the three made it outside,it was surprisingly deserted.
Jevudhat quickly put on his gliding suit, fastening the straps and belts tightly.
He gave the fins and wings a quick test to see if they function properly then went towards the end of the platform, feeling the strong winds blow in his face.
He took a deep breath to calm himself and hopped off, stretching out his arms to the maximum, making the leather expand like the skin of a flying squirrel and let the winds carry him up into the sky.
He hovered there for an impressively long period of time, turning around in the air to face his comrades with the biggest grin he had ever had on his face.
He whooped and whistled in joy then glided towards the ground, landing a bit clumsily on the platform.
"If this thing keeps up the great work,we'll take turns in flying."
Wendry whooped in joy as well, then smacked him on the back, grinning.
"It sure will! Good luck with the class,I gotta go now-got a vision to see, later!"She exclaimed while flying off towards the third floor of the building just when other students came and started taking their places on the platform, some already setting on practicing while other simply stood there, looking incredulous and bewildered-mainly other Serthis people, centaurs and longnecks.

[Sherc had tucked what she had been working on away, simply looking around as she tried to remember where everything was and who was who. She wasn't quite sure what it was she had even done in the past class, having just looked down and discovering she had drawn an odd spiraling pattern on the paper. She shrugged it off for now, deciding to just focus on the classes.]

[Aradia oo'd and aah'd, inspecting Serket's new outfit and wings while she talked. Aradia was a bit jealous, since her dreamself was yet to awake and she had already started to figure out and use her Time powers, having been born with a bit of them as a fluke. Meaning that if she did manage to god tier, she'd really just get the fancy new appearance and some really fancy time powers, but at least she'd be properly alive again.]

[Pyrope groaned, opening her eyes slightly. Everything seemed to hurt, and her vision wasn't helping. Oh right, the now red vision. And Serket. She shook her head slightly, trying to clear her head.]

[Spades Slick glared at the Black Queen, giving the shortest report he could possibly give before slinking away. Stupid fair and just ruler. Bluh Bluh Bluh. He growled, ordering another report from his crew. Hearts Boxcar told him that backup may be needed, he was currently caught in a crowd of Felt Members. Specifically Eggs and Biscuits. Or at least thats what Spades is pretty sure he means, because all Hearts Boxcar is currently saying is 'I HATE TIME TRAVEL I HATE TIME TRAVEL I HATE TIME TRAVEL I HATE TIME TRAVEL'.]

The yard was starting to get fairly noisy with some of the students have started an argument just for the sake of doing so.
Suddenly an elderly male voice can be heard from amongst the bustling students.
"Silence! Get on your platforms this instant or you'll be hanging outside for the rest of class! Silence!"
This made all students quiet down and scurry off to their respective platforms then turn to look at the teacher who has just arrived-a short,a bit old looking skydancer walked to the center of the yard, his one eye looking at the students in distaste, his other one being blind.
Mr Greywind stood in the center of the yard, looking over to see who was there and who wasn't with his usual displeased scowl.
Once the yard was completely silent and all eyes were on him,the teacher began speacking, sounding like a millitary general.
"Today we are practicing areal combat and how to avoid getting hit by an enemy from below. For the task you will split up into two separate teams-Dragons and Beasts. So,first team there on the left,Beasts there-on the right."
The students hurriedly split up into teams, then went to the appointed places.
The Gloom colored skydancer looked the two teams and barked another command.
"Serthis,Centaurs and Longneck leave the group and go over there,Harpies and Talonoks remain where you are."
A collective chorus of dissapointed groans rose from the team but said beasts left none the less, going to where the entrance of the yard was while talking in hushed voices.
Once the team reformed, the teacher sent them off to practice, instructing them who with who is paired then left them to practice.
He looked over at the dumbfounded Alchemist who stood at the side and rose a brow in question while looking at the equipment.
"Swiftscale! Get over here right now and take off this ridiculous thing."
Jevudhat flinched a bit when the teacher called him out but obeyed.
Mr Greywind eyed him with a displeased scowl."Didn't tell you to take this thing off boy?" The dragon hissed in a low voice.
The beast saluted in greetings and started speaking, ignoring his throat.
"Sir! In my defense,I crafted this gliding suit to help me participate due to my lack of natural ability to fly."
The skydancer laughed for moment then shook his head at him.
"Gliding is not considered flying in my class boy. I admit that I do appreciete your enthusiasm indeed, alas you've worried yourself in vain."
Seeing the dejected look on the Alchemist's face made the dragon soften his features and chuckle in amusement.
"Don't wilt,I know not all Beastclans can fly and I won't give you and other land beasts any bad grades. Now go and relax,do your other projects or find something else to busy yourself with."He said and made a dissmissive gesture, shooing the Serthis away.
Jevudhat nodded and headed towards the benches with a slightly dissapointed pout on his face, sure the teacher said that he won't be giving him any bad grades like F,D or C levels but having an E as a result or B level at best was just unsatisfing. He supposed that it couldn't be helped so he just has to accept B levels on this subject.

[Sherc gave Jevudhat a sympathetic pat on the back, less then pleased with the teacher herself. She took out a piece of spare paper she had managed to snag from the last class and started doodling on it, making simple stick animals.]

[Settling down again, Aradia spoke up.]
[``Right, so, I assume this is gonna be just like old times? Except we've both died at least once and you have the full light powers needed for it. ``]
[Serket spoke up with her usual grin, unable to resist a comment-]
[``And aaaaaaaall the luck.``]
[Aradia laughed before placing one hand on Serket's head, enveloping them both in a glowing light. After a moment the light shifted into swirls of red and golden yellow, words forming above their heads: 'Fraymotif: Adagio Redshift'. Their eyes shifted, losing their normal colors and pupils and replacing them with swirls of color and images.]
[Light was a confusing aspect, dealing with both seeing the future as well as things like knowledge and luck. Serket was a Thief Of Light, meaning that she took those things for herself-so she couldn't look into the future herself without risking harm. Aradia was a Maid Of Time, meaning she could move herself or others through time as she pleased. Put together they were a near perfect combination, allowing themselves to look into the correct future without disrupting said future.]
