So I am starting up a brand new role-play. This is it. Birds fly above snow covered mountains, water laps at soft sand and pine branches creak in the breeze. FinchClan is home to many creatures large and small. Elk roam open fields while mice crawl through brambles. FinchClan has existed since the stars were born; or atleast that's what they are told by their elders. Some doubt the lofty claims but this has never caused much trouble beyond the odd fight. Leaders come and go and the clan continues to age and grow. While things go wrong from time to time; life in FinchClan is something none of it's members would change. But that's just what mother's tell their kits. An unspoken war rages between the Leader and their Deputy, all warriors have chosen their sides and the apprentices stay up at night stressing about what comes next. The clan has lived in the same camp for generations on generations and it has been so prosperous. But the Deputy see's that prey isn't as overflowing as it had been when they were younger and fears that the clans size is destroying the supply of fresh-kill in the area.[/columns] --------------------------------------------------------

The territory is filled with pine trees and the ground covered in leaves and sticks making hunting on the forest floor an extra challenge. This doesn't stop FinchClan as much to it's name the cat's of this forest clan have learnt how to climb the pine trees they call home to catch ground and feathered prey off guard. On the top of the hill leading up to the cliff face is a thick forest which the clan has made their [b]camp[/b] in. FinchClan's camp is deep in the middle of the forest and then down into a series of tunnels. Tunnels range in size and most either lead to an exit or a spacious cave. Wear of repeated use has caused dips to form in the ground, in which cats pile moss and feathers to keep them warm at night. The medicine cats store their herbs on shelves in their den; to come running into the Medicine Cat den would likely cause all the herbs to fall off them however and as such, is the easiest way to anger the clans healers. The clan's [b]training grounds[/b] and [b]swimming shallows[/b] are East of the clan's camp, a good journey away. The Training grounds are positioned on The clans typical [b]hunting grounds[/b] are filled with the clan's favoured prey however some cats have been known to hunt fish in the swimming shallows or the river that runs through the clans territory. [b]Gatherings[/b] are held with the local rogue population at Star Point. --- [b]Medicine Cats[/b] visit Moon Pool every half moon to speak with their ancestors. The Moon Pool is located through a series of tunnels and found in a large cavern. The pool is sourced by a small bubbling spring and shines brightly in the dark due to the algae that calls the the pool it's home. The prickling feel that went along [b]DewStar[/b]'s spine made his whiskers twitch in his sleep. A storm was coming. DewStar hadn't slept well last night; he would no doubt ask himself if he ever slept well. His body twitched as he jerked awake; inhaling deeply as he registered the world once more. As he became aware of the world he also became aware of his body; he was sore all over. [b]BrokenFlight[/b] had warned him that chances are he would feel sore the next day; loosing a life seeming to have taken it's toll on his body regardless of StarClan's work on fixing the injuries. Pulling himself to his feet he blinked several times leaning against the cave wall. He had two lives left; he was short on time he knew it. Stealing a deep breath he pushed himself strongly onto his paws making his way through the apprentices cave and to an entrance. Once he was onto the surface he walked out into a patch of light that made it's way through the heavy trees and flopped onto the ground. He wasn't old, just well worn. He had been leading the clan for 10 moons and in that time he had lost 7 of his 9 lives; all of them for good causes. He watched the sky change from a dark purple to a vivid pink above him; as his gazed travelled along the sky he noticed the build up of a storm in the distance. His heart sunk as he realised that with the coming storm prey would be even harder to find and catch. His clan was starting to get hungry and it was only Leaf-Fall. The hunting patrols would have to be sent to the shores to hunt and they had already lost to many good warriors to the creatures of the deep; he had lost three lives that way. Her eyes flew across her den-mates and for a split second landed on her sister. She let out a snort and walked out of the warriors den and out into the frosty air. She noticed her leader and dipped her head in a sign of respect before moving over to the fresh-kill pile; or where it usually was.
