Dragons on shore sample Sunbeam Grotto’s best cuisine; fresh-caught fish, salted meat, giant insects, and lush produce. There is no truer paradise! [center][url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/8225561][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/82256/8225561_350.png[/img][/url][/center] As the sky mellows from the vivid watercolors of sunset to a deep indigo, Aurora invites a group of interested dragons to join her at the top of the cliff that holds the cave dens of Sunbeam Grotto. It's a short flight, but there is a winding path up the side of the cliff for dragons who prefer to hike. The cliff juts out from the dense bamboo forest, arching slightly over the beach below. A makeshift seating area has been set up on the grassy swathe of land. The fire pit at the edge of the cliff has been built up into a veritable bonfire, and raised, flat rocks surround it in a U-shape to form a sort of stage. Aurora settles at the foot of the fire with her face turned to the sky over the Zephyr Steppes, seemingly comfortable even with the blaze at her back. By the time everyone in the group has found a seat, the colors of sunset have melted away entirely. The full moon has just begun to rise in the sky, bathing the beach and cliffs below in soft blueish-white light. Its sister is waxing tonight, a subtle crescent halfway across the sky. From so high, overlooking the ocean, the view of the night sky is uninterrupted. Distant stars twinkle above on the deep violet canvas. As the crowd is awed into silence by the clear, bright sky, Aurora begins to introduce the stars. The first constellation she points out is that of a great whale that swims through the sky - and she starts to tell its story, a tale which was passed down to her when she lived deep in the Leviathan Trench. When Aurora told the same story at the first family reunion, it was colored by a somber tone, but when she speaks of its journey now it’s with a note of hope. The whale’s position changes with the seasons, but it is always visible in the night sky from anywhere on Sornieth - even the deepest parts of the sea. Notes from Delve’s gentle flute lift Aurora’s clear, lyrical voice, and the stars twinkle in time with the tune. As the story comes to an end, the crowd is stunned silent for a few moments before someone decides they should probably start clapping! On cue, the flute leads into Aurora’s next story, a tale of a fearsome sea monster offered kindness by a defenseless sea clan. The fire crackles, Aurora pauses, Delve holds a long note, and Timbre’s voice finally rises to accompany the flute in a surprisingly deep and rich tone. When the clan is attacked, the sea monster comes to their aid, and becomes a lifelong protector. One after another, Aurora recounts stories of daring maren, skilled seafarers, and finally, how the Fishspine Reef came to be. Throughout, Delve and Timbre duet seamlessly, always joining together at the story’s crescendo. Skaviour & EyeCyou are interested in joining in on Aurora's stargazing
and storytelling adventure but are not sure how to make acknowledged
that they are doing or have done so... it is also 230am FR 17+ where
I am at present - so maybe more after some sleep.

Hearing the beginning of stories, Bluegrass wandered over to Aurora’s stargazing to listen intently.

@Storygeek "Always putting on a show, that's our Dalas!" Sunset says fondly before pulling her great-great-great-grandson into a hug. She greeted the rest of the group, then, too - pats on the head for the little ones, a hug offered to Consuela, a hug politely demanded from Aster and Teqqer, and a gentle handshake for the entire family of Veilspun. "Such a pleasure to make your acquaintance, all of you - I hope you each find yourselves something to enjoy here this week!"

@Fantivity Tecumbo listens carefully to Bastion's advice and questions. "I was thinking of naming them after volcanoes - this cave is made from volcanic rock, after all, and inviting the elements of Water and Fire in a name invites power for the named dragon - don't you think?"

Tangelo, mollified by Clementine's shared story, decides to drop the subject. "Okay, okay, I get it..." Clementine offers to help finish building the bonfire, and once it's towering high above the rest of the clifftop, the pair head back down to the beach.

@LightBreaker After smiling at Hahvulon's excitement, Sunset bows in return, honored by the reverence with which the family of Aberrations greet her - one would think she might be used to that treatment by now, but it always seems to come as a surprise! Her surprise is multiplied when the family's tag-along member reveals itself, and after a brief greeting, the creature hops up next to Sunset on her perch and settles down at her side as if it's been there all along.

"Tell me about yourself," Sunset says once the introductions are complete. "How did you come to be where you are now, with a family of your own at your side?"

Hahnu is a little surprised at first, but recites her tale to Sunset - who is amazed they have so much in common; being pulled in a new direction that sets the stage for their life to unfold! The four Aberrations enjoy chatting with Sunset as they get to know each other, and after they say their see-you-laters, Hahnu looks back to see Sunset looking admiringly at her new friend.

Somehow mistaking the giant dragon head for a rock, he clawed his way up, wacking her in an eye with his tail. Perched at the top, Harvest turned back around and puffed up proudly, wings flared triumphantly. "Ha ha ha! Look at be, I'm king if the mountain!" He shouted at his siblings, clearly trying to goad them into playing. [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/79294016][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/coliseum/portraits/792941/79294016.png[/img][/url] Kitada had closed the eyes on her face to give the impression that she was sleeping, though the rest of her eyes were open. She'd gotten a little too invested in the play if a couple hatchlings near her flanks and was thoroughly surprised when little claws jabbed her in the snout. Flaring her facial fins and lifting her cerata was the only reaction she allowed herself, though. Jolting or jerking was liable to send a claw directly into her eyes.

echo and seafoam eagerly fly up towards the out-jutting cliff, echo making swoops and flips in the air, his eyes gleaming as the night overcomes the day, making the horizon a yellow-purple. seafoam-- meanwhile, was soaring through the air gracefully, thesilks draping her wings flapping in the wind.

[I spent almost an hour writing up a response to today's event, I was finishing it up and I dont know what happened. It was just gone.
I'm very sad about it and its unfortunate no one will see, but I'll summarize what happened...]

Ferren was incredibly excited to check out the library, he wanted to find books that he cant find in Plague.
Cada joked about bringing him to the dating game instead, but they parted ways for most of the day.
Ferren took notes on all the books he didn't recognize, while Cada ordered everything on the menu (and a few extra non veggie veggie skewers) at Coriander's cart, and asked him a few questions about the family.

They met for lunch, hours later got snacks from Coriander's, and and hiked up through the bamboo forest becuase Ferren preferred to stay grounded. Ferren was fully invested in the story but Cada kept getting distracted by the music. He thought it was beautiful, and thought about home and his wife. The music encouraged him to try harder when Luce tries to teach him how to play the instruments she makes.
Ferren got his attention, and the two listened to the rest of the story together.

It was a wonderful night, accompanied by beautiful music. The pair wouldnt be able to forget it for a long time to come.

Library? Marling got up and shot after Unearly. When he reached Sunbeam grotto, he breathed in the musty smell of Tidelord's books. Ahhh.

Also she did...try to eat a little bit of the kelp. Ok, more than "a little bit". It was tasty, but tastier was the sweet sweet treasure she was able to find! Shaking off the sleepyness, she head off to the new day. Munching on a delicious sweetmelon and spearmint snack she picked up from the stall of the lovely [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/64762893]Taffy[/url], Hila was looking for [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/71071513]Verdigris[/url], she heard the skydancer could help her with something wich was on the back of her mind, nagging her. [i]"Hello, hii"[/i] Hila catches the skydancer's attention, who seemed to be arranging some documents, probably records of the familiy's genealogy [i]"So I heard you can help us find our relatives here? Well so, I have a brother you see, a bogsneak, he kinda looks like me, but is more bright orange, maroon red underbelly, his name's Dinroe, do you know he might be around? Or maybe my dad Miro, or grandma Rudenko? both are like, ridgebacks, you know?"[/i] Hila takes the last bite of the sweetmelon cottoncandy [i]"Oh and my names is Hilarouka by the way, nice to meet ya!"[/i]
