here's my piece for her! I definitely will write more, but unfortunately, I only had so much time to sit down and write. Word count is 325!
[quote][size=4][font= times new roman]Antiphonus roared in agony as molten steel cascaded down her back, searing heat biting into her scales and scorching away anything she once was. Her muscles rippled and contracted as the Mirror grit her teeth to silently bear the pain, fiery eyes burning as hot as the metal slithering across her back like golden serpents, her own blood mixing in with the mess of cauterized wounds and liquid ore. She wanted to writhe in her anguish, dare even plea for the drakes pouring the boiling alloy to stop, but instead, she bit into her tongue and refused to let go--even when her blood flooded her mouth and made her choke.
The warrior could feel her resolve crumbling, legs threatening to give into the torment she fought to endure. A swarm of terrifying thoughts occupied her mind as her body trembled from the abuse wrought upon it. However, fainting meant certain death. It was required during a traditional Dark Stalker initiation not to lose consciousness. Antiphonus refused to let herself crumple from the torture, even if her vision was spinning and it felt like her bones were going to splinter. The hellish life she lived to endure would become something of insignificance if she failed now.
The Mirror herself did not know how long she had stood for. However, when the metal finally cooled, she was swiftly escorted out of the ancient chambers and to the healer’s hall. The world around her flickered by in a messy blur. It stung her eyes and brought forth a sharp pang that hammered against her skull. She shut her eyes to it, opening her mouth to gasp for air, blood from her wounded tongue rolling down her chin and splattering on the floor. It left a trail in her wake.
As other Dark Stalkers dragged her away from the room thick with the scent of her burnt flesh, Antiphonus realized that she was finally one of their own kind.
