“…and this, this is called a sev sancha. It can make noodles!” As the clan’s main experts in food technology, Minju (former member of Team Strinjale) and her husband, Jae, are pleased to be working with Mochi today. They had been spectating this entire time and kept track of all the dishes Mochi had cooked. Together, the two want to teach Mochi how to make a new, complicated, but still fun, dish.
One that will be the perfect ending to the Mist Jam.
She’ll have to wait and see what the mandatory ingredients will be, but the plan is to make some type of savoury jam and noodles. But they can’t tell Mochi what to do, they have to subtlety nudge her in the right direction.
Hence this little kitchen gadget show they’re putting on for Mochi.
“As you spin this handle the dough will be cut by these shaped blades, and that’s how you can get noodles. You’ve eaten noodles before Mochi, they’re yummy!” Jae was doing his best to sell this, and Mochi’s just staring at the sev sancha, deeply considering. Thankfully Minju knew how to sweeten the deal.
“Very yummy, if you cook them perfectly. And they can be eaten hot or cold, in a soup or stir-fry, with a dressing and sauce. You can even keep it really simple, add some cheese and a stick of butter and you got buttered noodles.” Mochi’s eyes widen.
“Butter!! Noodles!!” The Mauler of Butter cheered. Minju and Jae gave each a low five.
Use at least THREE of the following ingredients in your entry:
Lion’s Mane Emu / Winged Barb / Swordfish / Speckled Fire Lily
“Waah!” Minju jumped when the egg cracked open and confetti burst out. Mochi giggled at her. Quickly getting over the shock, the three of them grabbed the ingredients and headed back to their station, Minju staying wary of any surprises from Ursus.
The Veilspuns went over the high-quality ingredients with Mochi. Suggesting ways to cook with them, but ultimately leaving it up to the little Aether.
“Ground Emu!” Mochi hadn’t used the meat grinder before. “Scorpion powder!” Or a blender. “Butter-basted Swordfish!” No such thing as too much butter. “Fire Lily jelly!” Close enough to jam, Minju’s super pleased.
There’s a lot to do, so they got to work. They had a head-start and prepped ahead for the cook. Ingredients were already gathered for the noodle dough, which will now be a pasta. As Jae worked on the dough, which will have Winged Barb powder mixed in it, Minju worked on the sauce: Ground Emu ragu with onions, tomato puree, red wine, and all the ingredients that make Speckled Fire Lily jelly (that Mochi mixed in a small bowl and poured directly into the sauce).
Flower jellies are typically made with white wine but red wine works too, wanting to tackle two things at once, Minju decided to incorporate the unset jelly into the ragu. It’ll add a nice sweetness and spice.
Due to their size, they were able to work closely together and not take up too much space. Mochi went back and forth, helping both of them out. She got to blend the Winged Barb, grind the Emu, and then use the sev sancha to make the pasta.
Once the pasta was boiled and al dente, it went into a fancy bowl with Butter Stick and mixed to make Buttered noodles. Some butter sticks were also melted in a pan, and the Veilspuns watched Mochi sear a big piece of Swordfish in it, skin removed and seasoned well.
Pour the ragu onto the pasta and then lay the Swordfish on top.
“Was in small fridge!”
“It’s chocolate.” They helped Mochi ‘crack’ it and candied confetti burst out. Jae took a piece of the chocolate and the confetti and gave them a taste. “Delicious! Oh look, there’s a Knotted Rope inside that looks just like a Buttersnake, how cute. Here you go Mochi.”
“Butter.” Mochi cooed over it, when Jae handed it over to her she started chewing on it. Then Mochi yawn and curled herself into a ball, still hugging the Knotted Rope.
She did a lot today. It was time for her to nap.

“Oh Mochi, you found the Mystery Egg!” They kept the dish warm as they looked around the station for their ‘hidden surprise’. Mochi hugged a rather large pastel blue Egg and flew over to them.Winged Barb Pasta with Swordfish
