Faust is such a sweetheart. I'm glad she welcomed Lillian and Lavorre in. And not only are there new eggs, but also new hatchlings. Juan has gotten some siblings, and Juan and Hurri themselves have formed a coven and are having hatchlings of their own. And I can't believe Shui's on his third mate, and while Glacier and Shui don't have romantic feelings, I believe they'll be a match made in violence with their cruel demeanors.
RIP Izzard. Tried to be a sweetheart, but simply couldn't last.

I don’t yet have the space to take him in, so I’ll leave it until then for anyone to grab him! If he hasn’t been taken at that point I’ll come by and ask again :]

Oh no, Izzard [emoji=guardian sad size=1] How will Hime take this?..
Wow, this chapter was another roller coaster! Love the new characters (definitely was not expecting to see a Maren pop up in the wasteland!), and wow, Izzard's death couldn't have been a pleasant one. I'm kind of glad we only saw the aftermath of it.

It sure is getting smaller... Lots of changes are coming for the clan, I have lots in store.

I have not yet figured out how Lavorre gets around (Probably Lillian carries her) but I figured bringing in a beastclans would be fun!
That's an interesting conundrum! Maybe a container of some sort? A magic breathing/levitation spell? Possibly both?

Merlot had been watching Cynar since he had arrived. The aberration was no ordinary dragon, he could tell at first glance. His eyes were trained in the ways of the ethereal and otherwordly, and no fire dragon left charred footprints behind wherever they walked, no fire dragon was covered in embered webs. At least not like that.
Merlot didn't care about the business of other dragons, not really. But, if someone would prove to be a powerful ally for his god while he was losing allies left and right, this was an opportunity he could not pass up.
So, it was with this motivation in mind when he approached Cynar. The aberration immediately fixed his burning gazes on Merlot, as if he were trying to set him alight with looks alone. Merlot did not flinch. Dealing with such a harsh god gave one and edge.
"What do you want from me," Cynar spat, voice rumbling and low, as if every essence of the aberration had been burned to ash.
"I know what you are," Merlot said simply. "I have an eye for such things."
"Then you see what I have become," Cynar said, not blinking. "My home was ravaged, my tree destroyed. I was happy in the forest, but that was an old me who is dead and gone. I am fire and ash and anger now, unable to die even if my tether is dead and gone. I would do anything to destroy the dragon who destroyed my forest and my friends. I don't need immortality, but I need more power. I'm not strong enough."
"You have come to the right place," Merlot grinned, knowing he had this dragon hook line and sinker. "Shui is a brutal god, but he looks out for his own. I am sure if you help him ascend to his true power, he will lend you what you need to reclaim your home from the one who destroyed it."
"Then take me to this Shui," Cynar rumbled.
And just like that, Merlot had rallied another member to the cause.

Pyrrah had found herself in a dance with the nocturne for quite some time now. Missy intrigued her, but the nocturne had a reluctance to be seen, to be found. It seemed, at times, like Missy was playing with her in return, dodging her every move, and that just intrigued Pyrrah more. She liked girls that were hard to get.
Which was why she felt such satisfaction when she was able to pin her down. Literally.
"Can't run away now," Pyrrah purred. It was clear the nocturne had not seen her coming, and the coatl now had her in a waltz-like embrace.
"I- Oh- I- Well-" Missy stammered, taking Pyrrah by surprise. "I mean, I don't know what you're-"
Pyrrah saw through her immediately, and a wide smile stretched across her face. Missy hadn't been avoiding her out of some mysterious secret, she was flustered. Pyrrah had danced with many a girl, and there was nothing quite as satisfying as realizing someone melted at your touch, that someone was so enamoured by you it took their breath away. Especially when the reaction came form someone so powerful and put together.
The nocturne began to blush deeper and deeper, words devolving into less and less coherence as she tried to find her voice. "You're beautiful." She finally blurted out, which made her all the more red and flustered.
Pyrrah just grinned, then dipped Missy and kissed her deeply. Then, she pulled away, leaving Missy leaning in for more. She spun the nocturne away from her and let go, winking. "If you want more of that, you know where to find me."
She could hear the nocturne stammering as she walked away.

"I see you've found another one," Aerial grinned as Pyrrah joined them at their tent.
"I think this one is going to catch my attention for a while," Pyrrah confirmed. She was excited to see where this flirtation would go.

The Scarred Wasteland made Bluegrass feel like he was one the battlefield again. The pockmarked, unforgiving landscape was just like many he had seen destroyed by combat and twisted by offensive arcane magic. He could feel Jupiter tense against him as they went, and he knew they were thinking of the war.
"Are you okay?" Bluegrass asked.
"I don't like it here," Jupiter said through gritted teeth. "But an order is an order. I'm just glad I was able to get you to come too. I would not want to do it without you."
"We've made it through many battles, we'll make it through this," Bluegrass agreed. "And once we do, we can travel the stars together and see them for their beauty instead of for their danger."
"I don't know if I'll ever be able to live without seeing danger wherever I go," Jupiter sighed. "But whatever happens, I want to stay by your side."
"I'll be by your side no matter what," Bluegrass agreed. "We'll- oh! Is that the camp!"
A collection of tents had just come into view in front of them, matching the description that The Arcanist had given them. They had finally arrived, but Bluegrass knew that the danger was far from over. Their trials had once just begun.

Yarla opened her eyes, taking in the world around her. It was very red. The ground was red, the light coming through the tent was red. She could no longer feel the cold bodies of her parents, so she took a step, trying to figure out where they must be.
All Yarla knew was that somewhere deep within her was a powerful thirst, and she would do anything to satisfy it.

Lots of relationship building in this chapter! And it was nice to have a chapter without a death for the first time in a while.
Yarla has two siblings who did not survive the coin flip, if anyone is interested in claiming them! They will be available until they are adults, after which they will be exalted!
