Harpies aren't an unusual sight on the Windswept Plateau, or even the Jamboree. After all, with the close alliances some local clans have with some local flocks, dragons will invite close companions along to enjoy the fun.
However this year there is definitely a notable increase in feathered wings fluttering every which way, and it's not because of an influx of coatl or skydancer hatchlings in the region (however there is a debate going on trying to determine if there was an increase or decrease of masks, given last year's theme).
The Mistral Meals tent seems to have its fair share of newcomers as well.

"Ladies, please!" Compote tries not to sound like he's begging as he does his best to guide two overly curious young harpies away from the pantry tents, "both your parents and I told you this space is off limits since everything needs to be kept in pristine condition for the event!"
"I did try to tell her we can get snacks somewhere else," one of them, Nyna, protested softly as she ruffled her blue tinged wings together.
"But we're BORED!" exclaimed the other, Souffle, at the same time, "If we can't help with the judging or set up or anything else like the adults get to, what are we supposed to do??"
Compote sighs, rubbing his temples. He'd been quite eager at the idea of inviting some harpies onto the judging panel for Mistral Meals this year, but he hadn't anticipated needing to potentially babysit for them as well. "Don't you want to...I don't know...explore the fairgrounds or something? I know I'm not the only dragon who's bad with Beastclan ages, but you seem old enough to not been to be supervised by your parents..." He trailed off, remembering the disaster he found with the ice cream maker just yesterday.
The two look at each other. "We don't know many dragons," Nyna admits, sheepishly, "I mean of course we can fly above them but when we're down on the ground there's just so many..."
"What my friend means is that we don't want to get stepped on." Souffle interjects, and the other looks flustered at the blunt admission."
Compote is taken by surprise by this factor at first (having grown up in a clan with dragons of all sorts and sizes, he learned at a young age how to avoid such dilemmas), but then an idea occurs to him and he grins. "So...you'd be happy to explore other events if you have some dragon friends to escort you?"
The harpies nod eagerly.
"Well let me draw up a list for you," Compote says cheerfully, "I know some dragons who aren't doing much again this year~"

The Game
Welcome to Mistral Meals! This challenge is for all users out there who enjoy food and cooking, whether they have real life skills in the kitchen or not!
Please note that this event has two different components and you must sign-up to participate in the Cooking Challenge portion of the event! More specific details for each section will be outlined in the rules below.
Note regarding event updates: Daily updates will occur soon after 5:00FRT, so you have until then to post Activity entries, but only until 4:30FRT for the Challenge ones. Unfortunately for the Cooking Challenge I cannot be lenient with late entries due to the tournament format, but Daily Activity entries will be accepted up until 30 minutes after my update post (based on timestamps) to accomodate anyone in the middle of writing theirs last minute.
Please note that this event has two different components and you must sign-up to participate in the Cooking Challenge portion of the event! More specific details for each section will be outlined in the rules below.
- The Cooking Contest will consist of 3 rounds of cooking role-play over the course of the Jamboree week, and will require contestants to sign up between March 19th-25th. Each round will be 2 days long, and will require contestants to include specified challenge ingredients. Deciding who moves onto the next round will be determined by
an unnamed panel of judgesRNG, and there are badges and a grand prize up for grabs!
- The Daily Activities will be open to anyone and will count as the entries for tickets for the raffle prizes as well as earning a small daily prize. These will not necessarily be cooking related prompts, and the more you participate the higher your odds of winning a raffle prize!

Cooking Challenge Rules
- You MUST sign up to participate in this portion of the event during Wind's Festival Push Week.
- Challenge rounds will be 48 hours long. If you do not submit an entry by the 4:30FRT deadline you will be considered a "no-show" and will automatically lose that round. You will still win any consolation prizes, if applicable to the round.
- While you are not limited to using the same dragon for all three challenges, you must still submit one on the signup form to be the "team representative."
- You are only required to use three of the challenge ingredients. Beyond that you are allowed and encouraged to use other ingredients (whether they exist as in-game items or not). Assume that every potential ingredient and/or cooking device is available for your dragons to use (if you want to use something that seems too high tech for Flight Rising, just presume Lightning provided it).
- Entries are encouraged to be written as role-play, but I'll also accept recipe format, just so long as it is written in-character/associated with one of your dragons.
- Technically there is no word length minimum or maximum. Write whatever is most comfortable for you, so long as the ingredient requirement is met.
- Round 1 will be 1 vs 1, Round 2 will be 1 vs 1 vs 1 and Round 3 will be two groups of 1 vs 1 and one of 1 vs 1 vs 1 (who's in which group will be determined at random)
- Try not to ping me unless you need to get my attention for a question or any other concern. I don't mind if you do, but I will be working my way through the thread a post at a time to make sure I don't miss anything. You can also feel free to PM me if you need to reach out for anything.
Daily Activity Rules
- Only one entry per user per day. Feel free to interact with my NPCs or other contestants if you want to keep the RP fun going, but you only get one shot at a daily prize and raffle ticket.
- You must use at least one of your dragons in your turn, though you don’t have to use the same one all week.
- Entries are encouraged to be written as role-play, but I'll also accpet drawings or other forms of media so long as it addresses the daily prompt.
- Technically there is no word length minimum or maximum. Write whatever is most comfortable for you, so long as the daily prompt is addressed.
- PLEASE BE PATIENT! The current event format was designed to help prevent me from falling too far behind as I juggle real life and the Jamboree, but I still will not be able to send out prizes during work hours. As always I will get to everyone in order, but if a new challenge is posted and you haven't received a participation prize for your previous entry, don't worry and go ahead and reply to the new one! Prizes will be handed out in order no matter what challenge is currently active.
- Try not to ping me unless you need to get my attention for a question or any other concern. I don't mind if you do, but I will be working my way through the thread a post at a time to hand out prizes and this will be easier to keep track of more pressing issues. You can also feel free to PM me if you need to reach out for anything.
