The grass is green, the sun is radiant, the hills are...hilly. Hopefully, we would be able to make many alliances here![/i] [i][b]Blackwood:[/b] You're too naïve, Miss Rockspine. Everyone won't just befriend you because you best some of their foes.[/i] Rockspine abruptly turned to the elder party, brandishing a scowl at his remark. Did he seriously have to say that? Did he need to attack her character? Oh, the nerve. The fae pursed her lip out at the navy blue dragon, resisting the urge to stick her tongue out and blow a raspberry at him. [i][b]Rockspine:[/b] Oh, you are mistaken. You are the one doing the "foe besting", not me! Now, hurry up! I see a potential fight brewing up, and I want to watch it![/i] Blackwood flicked some grass off his claw, heavily heaving out an exhale whilst he cocked an eyebrow. [i][b]Blackwood:[/b] Pardon? You know that I can't fight all these creatures by myself.[/i] [i][b]Rockspine:[/b] Well, I have faith in you! What, do you not feel the same? My, my, I'm questioning your loyalty now. As royalty, my word is law. No questioning from lowly denizens. [/i] The words smoothly slid out from the fae's lips, which were curled into a smarmy grin. Blackwood narrowed his eyes at her more. He opened his lips, then abruptly pursed them shut. He knew the new royal had...questionable morals, but he never thought she lacked this much care to her subjects. Eventually, he halted in his tracks, prompting Rockspine to contort her neck to shoot the Guardian an unapproving glance. [i][b]Blackwood:[/b] Why would I want to be loyal to you? You are clearly an incompetent leader.[/i] At his proclamation, Rockspine's eyes widened out of shock. [i][b]Rockspine:[/b] Excuse me?! I had usurped the throne for a reason! I was made to lead! I am a good leader—trust me![/i] [i][b]Blackwood:[/b] Sure, you were. If you are supposedly the competent leader you claim to be, Vanesa wouldn't have died.[/i] [i][b]Rockspine:[/b] W-what? You know that it isn't my fault...[/i] [i][b]Blackwood:[/b] I'm not done. I never said that it was your fault she's dead. What I'm trying to say that if you were a good leader, you would have prepared your subjects better. I'm aware that it was all unexpected, but still...you should have done better to prepare us. Let that tragedy be a lesson for you to exercise in the future.[/i] Albeit the smidge of guilt growing more prominent in her face, Rockspine kept her chest puffed up out of pride. After letting out a series of splutters, Rockspine poked a talon at Blackwood's chest. [i][b]Rockspine:[/b] Well...that was merely a setback! I was destined to be a mighty leader! You are supposed to listen to me![/i] [i][b]Blackwood:[/b] Hmph. I gave you a simple critique, and all you're focused on is your superiority? Well, if you're feeling so high and mighty, you can deal with your affairs yourself.[/i] Blackwood let out a dejected snort, turning his body so that he could walk away. Upon noticing this, Rockspine grew increasingly flabbergasted. She paused to think...and fast! What to do now? Blackwood will not be pushed around by her, so how to get through to him? In an act of quick thinking, the miniature dragon scaled up the Guardian's back, landing atop his head. After craning her head forward so that her eyes could meet his. [i][b]Rockspine:[/b] No, no, no! Don't leave! How about—how about we...do it together?[/i] [i][b]Blackwood:[/b] ... Together, hm?[/i] [i][b]Rockspine:[/b] Yeah! That way, we can begin establishing our kingdom's place in Sornieth! With your strength and my brains, we would make quite the mighty team.[/i] [i][b]Blackwood:[/b] You aren't saying this so that you can pawn all the work off to me, are you?[/i] [i][b]Rockspine:[/b] Not at all! I've had very poor luck at the starts of my lockes and it shows haha. I tried a Fodderlocke months ago and within the first few days I lost over 75% of my team--
