They were small enough to actually be able to enter the fae’s lair. She was a famous author and had many books on her shelves -- some which she wrote and others she got form other places. Sometimes, if the hatchlings were very good and could be very careful, she allowed them to look at some of the picture books of strange and fantastical animals, plants, trees and flowers that she had. One of their favorite books to look at was “The Encyclopedia of Plants and Flowers Illustrated Edition.” They particularly liked the flower called “the dahlia.” Dahlias came in many colors.
