At first glance needlessly difficult and infuriatingly lazy, it’s a wonder VOSTOK has gotten anywhere in life, much less to an elite magic school as a wildclaw. But underneath the obtuse exterior lies a sharp eye, a quick wit, and an even quicker tongue. VOSTOK talks callously about sensitive subjects that don’t mean much to him to distract from his true inclinations, held close to the chest. In the same vein, he plays up his faults to make sure he is underestimated; he wishes no-one expect anything from him and would prefer they be pleasantly surprised instead when he does demonstrate his competence. Born in an Arcane nest but raised with skydancers in neighboring Dragonhome, VOSTOK now exhibits an affinity towards Earth magic (VOSTOK cultivated his magic beyond his poor natural ability with help from his adopted clan, and since his mentors were from the Earth flight, Arcane magic fell by the wayside). But despite all his training, VOSTOK knew his magic would never rival that of his peers. Instead, his nature v. nurture upbringing called for creative solutions. VOSTOK played to his strengths and developed a style of spellcasting specific to himself - defensive magic enhancing a physical offense. Granite-reinforced claws. Haste-bound feet. A rock-lined tail smash. His small magical range (both in types of spells and casting distance) makes him near useless in supportive positions, but in close quarters, he can be a force to be reckoned with.
