Got an egg from one of your first chests? Again, good for you, I'd love to get something worthwhile rather then stupid rocks, flounders and lame puppets. I mean if some of those items were apparel items at least THAT would make this whole stupid thing worthwhile.
But after 100+ chests and getting nothing but junk is very, very discouraging.
Look I don't even give a damn about the nocturnes, they'll be around when people breed them, they'll return next year so that is not my problem. the problem for me are the fake bears, after this they will retire and like many other retired items on here, people are gonna inflate the price immensly. I'm already having a hard time saving up for 2013 holiday items as it is, can i please not be forced to donate my organs to get money? Can I please not get sleep deprived just by grinding for hours on end? Yeah I don't have to play but I WANT those mimic bears. That's what I'm doing it for.
This event for me is NOT fun, I aboslutely hate luck based things, and I agree if it were made like the holiday events that'd be 10 times better then an rng laced pit of despair. no I am not ungreatful that the mods did all this, I'm happy we got an event I really am but I just wish it wasn't so immensly luck based

Even if one of you doesn't manage to get any by the time the event ends, I'm sure people are willing to share some of the eggs they have found with you.
I have found three in the past three days and was willing to give my friends each one on Christmas day. However, they managed to snag one up this afternoon.
We still have over a week before the event is over! :) Don't give up now.

Is not such a bad thing you know. We're only in the first few days of a two week event. Of course not everyone will get an egg or scroll in their first few tries. Heck I opened around 300-400 chests already and the best item I got: a phony graveyard guardian. While my best friend got two nocturne scrolls simply from digging chests ( no grinding whatsoever ). It's just how it is. The RNG is just that! it's random. And anyways, just like the genes and new breeds I'm the past, these nocturnes will soon be common too. Look at the imperials and see what happened to them...
I only truly have one problem: the bear familiars. After this event, they'll be gone and if I don't get doubles of them I blow my chance to earn some cash. But I guess that's it, other than that, everything else seems fine. There'll be more opportunities next time. And we should all remember that it's just a game. Is not like we'll die if we don't get a nocturne egg/scroll right?

i've gotten an egg at least, so i can't complain too much, but honestly... over 1000+ chests opened and i haven't gotten another egg nor a scroll. it's sort of frustrating, but the event is two weeks long and i guess there's always hope it'll pop up one day? the unfortunate part is that a lot of users will be busy with the event crossing right over a holiday... geez.

I will say first off that I understand the work that's going into this. I have personally experienced the gradual lessening of the lag over the past couple of days and I am grateful for the work that is being done to make that happen. Yet as much as I understand and appreciate the constant maintenance that is happening, this event is really and truly broken. This is not just because of the horrible RNG system, or the fact that the coli is entirely impossible to use for so many, but because the entire site is suffering to the point of being unplayable. Since this event started I haven't had a single game work in the fairgrounds. The hoard and lair take so long to load that what would have taken me 5 minutes to do on an average day now takes me 30 minutes or longer. I wouldn't care if it were just that I couldn't participate in the event. I can wait to buy a nocturne from the AH later, that's whatever. I just wish I could enjoy the site at all.

Then stop playing the lottery for the bears. As easy as that. You can get them pretty reliably if you DON'T depend on the RNG.
Play your own game. This is a casino now and what you invest is time (and your wrist's health) to get money. Yes, I say money. How much money depends on the AH. Right now - as of me typing - the Jadecarved Decoy bears are at around 70k. Strange chests are at 4k. This means you need less than 20 chests to get a bear at the moment. A GUARANTEED bear!
Take the RNG out of your game. If you are in it for the familiars, sell your chests now (while chest prices are somewhat high) and buy the bears in a week or so - not directly at event end, but during a time where the AH will have quite a few. If you just hope to win the big prize by playing the lottery, it's like in every casino game - you tend to lose more than you win.
