absolutely struggling with burnout from fr rn and every time i log back on i see my lair's hunger so far depleted and i just can't help but think about my dragons starving and watching the food stores deplete because i disappeared for a few days
i feel like if my dragons met me in person they'd maul me for letting them starve so many times TT^TT

OR your dragons will give u a hug and tell u how much they missed u and tell stories while u were gone :) they understand life happens

Think of them like they're stuffed animals! Like how if one falls off the bed, they won't resent you, they'll do their job protecting you from there! I get having guilt from this, but please don't beat yourself up over it! This game is for fun, not more stress <3

on the flip side I decided to feed my dragons today and remembered why I let them starve until I need them

Have you considered viewing the energy bar as a game mechanic instead of Official Lore?
For example, when I’m doing a breeding project I dont imagine that a bunch of similar looking dragons suddenly join my clan, lay a ton of eggs, dig up an Undertide Breed Change Scroll, slap it on a hatchling and then abandon it. I just imagine that an Undertide joined the clan at some point.
My dragons are perfectly capable of feeding themselves without me, and that’s what I imagine happening even when I take breaks from FR.

I like to think of the energy bar as motivation/excitement! So when I'm not playing for a little while and the energy bar gets lower... that's just my dragons relaxing lol they just hang out without the need to fight in the coliseum or gather as much food as usual :3

I think of it like this too! Dragons don't die so I figure when they're hungry they're kind of like hibernating animals? Sometimes animals in hibernation will get up and trundle around a bit, stretch their legs, then they curl up and go back to sleep. When I don't feed them for a bit, I imagine they're just sleeping. If I need them to wake up I'll get a breakfast ready for them :D I used to not even feed my dragons unless I needed them to breed or Coli so some of my dragons were just sleeping forever. Just hanging around looking pretty.
