surprisingly Eclipse has fallen off for me. I was very excited seeing it when Everlux dropped but idk how I feel about it now; the prim/basic have to be simpler for Eclipse to really shine and I enjoy Flair's patterning more

Starmap was among my favourites when it released, but these days I'm starting to realize it just... doesn't give the same background coverage that other genes can. Same with Ringlets, it was really nice at first but then I realized a dragon almost had to be a basic or iri/shim one for ringlets to have any space to shine. Almost every other primary/secondary pair is too busy for ringlets to work effectively.

On the other side is Peacock. I thought it was kind of hard to work with at first, and didn't like how it seemed to always have a weird extra colour... but as it turns out, it's able to save some truly horrifying tertiary colours because of that same feature. Not a lot of tertiary genes let in the accent colours - opal is the only other one that consistently uses the accent colour, and Peacock can be relatively subtle in comparison to the all-over effect of Opal.

Iridescent and Shimmer and Gembond all slipped away when Flaunt/Flair/Peacock became a thing. And Peacock got yeeted when Eclipse was released for moderns [emoji=guardian love size=2]

I used to adore Opal, and now I still like it enough, but way less than I did. I barely use it in scries anymore.
Opposite with Koi. I actually used to dislike it, and now it's one of my favorite terts.

I used to adore starmap/constellation. now it feels way too busy to me.

I wasn't a big fan of Koi at first, but it really ended up growing on me.

i don't use wasp/bee and star/con nearly as much as i used to... which isn't saying much because i still use them quite a bit, but i no longer put it on Everything.

i used to like ghost, but i never use it anymore. same goes for peacock. it's become hit or miss for me.

i used to use jaguar and rosette a lot, but i almost never put rosette on anything anymore. jaguar is still pretty popular with me.

i've started using poison and noxtide a lot more, but not really their counterparts. ivory poison has opened up a whole new world for me when it comes to pastel dragons, and noxtide brings out some cute accent colors (mist, robin, bubblegum)

Iridescent and shimmer, not that I hate them now, I still quite like them. I just have many older dragons with irishim and find myself using fade and blend instead in most scenarios.
