Many species of ants release strong-smelling chemicals when they’re angry, threatened or being squished. Trap-jaw ants release a chocolatey smell when annoyed, while citronella ants earn their name from the lemony odor they give off.

There is a gene called Sonic Hedgehog... SHH
SHH pathway affects neurogenesis and neural patterning during the development of the central nervous system.

Fun facts… humans are the only animal with chins? Caused by the shrinking of our jaws as we started to eat cooked food that required less chewing. Same reason we have so many problems with crowded and maloccluded teeth. We’ve lost the space for wisdom teeth, but not the genes for the teeth themselves.

I love science so here is a science fact!
Cheetahs have a little thumb claw on their forepaws called a dewclaw that is non-retractable, which they use to hook and trip their prey when they catch up to them at high speed! They very rarely pounce on their prey like lions, being generally smaller and weaker, so this way it disorients their prey AND lets them get them the opportunity to go for the kill.
Thank you for hosting as always!
