Creative Corner

I've been reminded that traditional art often doesn't get as much appreciation as digital on the internet, so I want people to show theirs off!

Bonus points if you explain how you scan or take a picture, and any edits you do to it, so maybe other artists can do the same :)

I mostly do traditional art! @pheelthemoment ah, these are very cute! You get color on there very well. When I did traditional art (I only really don't now because digital is more convenient) I never much had the patience for laying the colors down enough lol. I used to do a lot of editing to get the kind of vibrancy I like c:

for taking pictures, I recommend taking them in natural light so you don't get weird shadows. as you can probably tell stuff on my art shop is not taken in natural light, so therefore has some super weird shadows sometimes. the scanner works decent, but the two graphite sketches wouldn't fit in a scanner (bc for some reason i did them on the huge sketchbooks, like an idiot) so i had to take pics outside haha

I have a friend who does a lot of clay sculpture and frequently needs to take photos of those. One of the things I got him was a very cheap light box so he wouldn't have to rely on getting just the right lighting to take his photos in. I'm not sure how applicable this is to paper drawings, but it reminded me a lot of it, so I wonder if it could also help :)

aaa thank you <3 honestly coloring is definitely the part i have the least patience for too but it's gotta be done haha,, i have tried digital coloring before but i definitely feel like i have a little more control with pencils at least! though yeah vibrancy can definitely be an issue dfgfd i'm lucky my scanner does pretty good for the most part! i used to use camscanner before that and it did alright but definitely nowhere near as good.
